How to freeze your mod versions : We get comments every update complaining about update speed making long-terms games difficult. while we understand the concerns, the current schedule allows us to handle bugs or game balance issues in prompt manner and gives new features a chance to be highlighted without dumping a whole bunch of stuff at once. Fortunately this is something that is relatively easy to deal with on the user end. You can either download your agot mod from nexus instead of steam and only upgrade manually or you can also use playset preserver (link) , which will preserve your entire modlist in a specific state. Please note however that we will not be able to help you with anything you add to your playset beyond the AGOT mod

Official Naming Dev Diary Part 2: Escaping the Portrait Mines
Hi all! Visenya here. I'm normally in the portrait mines, but I've escaped temporarily to help out with the implementation of our new High Valyrian names, making a second pass over the master-list. I was present when Fox first started this naming project, and watched as it developed, pulling names from it for my own campaigns over the last 6+ months. I am already deeply attached to some of them, and they always find a place in my dynastic trees.
Fox mapped out every single root word that a parent could conceivably use to name their child (using various sources including DJP's High Valyrian conlang, developed for A Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon) and as a long-standing ASOIAF reader, I have often imagined what life in the Valyrian Freehold would have been like.
Who were these people? What were their names? What did they do?
High Valyrians without dragons could have been bureaucrats, merchants, sellswords and more, and a name can tell you a lot about a person. It can reveal to us a little bit of their history, and allow us some insight into their parents – were they named after a relative, a place, a flower, the night sky...or an attribute their parents hoped would manifest in their life and act as a guiding star?
So...when I looked over our Master List, I carried that curiosity with me. I chose any name that I could imagine belonging to a person in Old Valyria, waking every day to behold the Fourteen Flames.
I created a new weighting group for the second pass, and we will be utilising era-based cultural name lists going forward depending on the time-period/bookmark you find yourself playing in. For example, if you play after 10 AC, the Targaryen influence over High Valyrian culture will be increased, and 25% of names will be canon Targaryen or Targaryen-inspired. If you play after 131 AC, the Targaryen dominance over High Valyrian culture will become even more prominent, with 50% of the names being canon Targaryen or Targaryen-inspired.
The Targaryen house names have also been adjusted; previously it was a 55% chance of canon name, 30% chance of a selection of Targ-inspired names, 15% chance of pulling from the whole High Valyrian name list. The updated odds are 60% chance of canon name, 37% chance of a selection of Targ-inspired names from the updated High Valyrian name list, 3% chance of pulling from the whole High Valyrian name list. We also gated several names to only appear after certain events, or stop appearing after certain events. For instance, Alyssa and Alysanne will not appear once we have bookmarks before those characters join the Targaryen family and Aegor and Daemon will only be used by members of house Bittersteel or Blackfyre in bookmarks starting after the Blackfyre Rebellion.
Future work will include using some of the more obscure names from the master list as a basis for more High Valyrian Dynastic names, expanding variety.
I hope that you will all enjoy this second stage of implementation, and look forward to seeing some High Valyrian dynasties springing forth with a more direct connection, at long last, to Old Valyria.
We'll leave you with a sneak peak from the Portrait Mines...

Screenshot (Submods are Enabled) Water wizards killed 3 dragonriders and their mounts in one battle
I suppose it's a reference to Rhoynish water magic? I've never seen this in a thousand hours. Not really mad as I've been attempting to prune the extra Targ cousins and their dragons anyways. That's why two of them were Kingsguard in the first place. I wish the wizards killed the other two cousins tbh. Maegor's bloodline is rotten
Anyone know what conditions trigger this? I was invading the disputed lands coastline, under control of Pentos
update: they did it again and killed the other two cousins lmao thanks wiz dudes

Screenshot (Submods are Enabled) Embarrassingly high number of hours in this game and I'm still discovering new mechanics.
tl;dr - using the "launch legendary adventure" casus belli from the Legends dlc ended up with me as an independent, county level realm with an administrative govt and maintaining my noble family title/estate.
Just to clarify, yes submods are enabled but I don't think this interaction is from a submod.
Since the new update, I discovered that there's a house in the southeast corner of Essos that is High Valyrian, follows the Fourteen Flames, has the only Valyrian Steel armor in the game and the VS sword Harbringer (these dudes and their artifacts might be from submod, 2nd). Note that the Historical ID lists them as descendants from the Vizeryon dynasty and they are considered a dragonriding house.
They only have a single county so I thought it would be cool to play as them and try to establish a "New Valyria" (I know, very original right?) with the newly added Essos and rebuild the cool ruins. Anyways, I had to become a vassal of Lys to survive early and then realized that it's basically impossible to independent once you're in. I thought that I would be able to declare an independence war but that casus belli apparently doesn't exist if you're in an administrative govt. declaring war on your liege.
I uncharacteristically wanted to avoid using debug as much as possible so decided to just play it out and see what happens. Eventually I remembered that there's a "Launch legendary adventure" decision/casus belli introduced in the Legends DLC that if you complete a heroic legend, allows you to declare war on a "distant land." If you win that war, you get whatever land you were fighting for, take your court with you but leave your previous titles (at this point I had a dictatorship set up in Lys after the 3rd time I was elected to lead it).
Braavos had conquered the county (Golden Fields) that I wanted to use as my new start up location and another nearby county that is part of the same de jure kingdom so I declared war on them with that unmade kingdom as my casus belli target to win those two counties. I was expecting to establish a new Feudal realm there once the war was over but lo and behold I maintained my Free City realm law and my noble family title with my estate automatically moving to my new county (3rd pic).
I am now somehow an independent ruler with only two, county level landed titles with an administrative realm and my Noble Family title + estate (1st pic). The estate however did lose a few buildings, building levels and interior upgrades (4th pic). I needed to stop playing for now but I did let the game run at 5x speed expecting to lose my estate/noble family title and revert to a feudal realm but no, it maintained lol. I also did not see any decision to adopt feudal ways but maybe that will change once I establish a duchy/kingdom and remain independent.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Not sure how this will end up but hopefully i'll find out soon enough!

Help (No Submods) What age do dragons change their hatchling idle pose?
What age do dragons change from their hatchling pose, where they stand upright, to their mature idle pose? In my game my dragon was like thirty years old and ridden by my heir but it kept the pose it did as a hatchling which I thought wasn't meant to last that long. So I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me if there's a specific age or it depends on their size or something.

AAR Chaos is indeed a ladder
I’m sure it’s been done many times but here is the results of my Petyr Baelish playthrough (not Ironman but I mostly just used saves to try out some different strategies since a lot of the intrigue and regency gameplay was very new to me and I had to rely on the AI in the various Mega Wars)
My first moves were to marry Jeyne Templeton and then do a couple quick murders to have her run the duchy of Ninestars with my kids set to inherit. After that I killed off Jon Arryn, achieved independence from my own duke using Jeyne’s troops, and then used some hooks and a regency overthrow to become the regent of the Vale over Jon’s young daughter. After that was the long process of entrenching the regency and setting up my eventual coup while doing a lot of embezzlements, hook fabrications, and creation of my new bank (which I named Goldfinger) to make a ton of cash. The biggest scare of this is shown during the last slide where I was briefly overthrown myself but then pulled an UNO reverse card on Horton Redfort and soon after became LP of the Vale.
In the meantime Robert defeated Aegon Blackfyre and the Greyjoys (them rebelling would become a theme) but I kept the Vale neutral. Finally someone revealed Jon Snow’s heritage which sparked another rebellion after Robert demanded their heads and this time I joined, seeing an opportunity to betrothe my daughter to Snow (more on that later). My greatest Littlefinger 5-D chess move came in this war when Viserys, who had sacrificed Dany to restore dragons, also invaded around the same time. I initiated a murder plot on him and then waited patiently for him to wreck Robert’s numerically superior army with his dragon and then executed the plot, taking his side out of the war entirely and allowing Snow’s crew to take the throne after a ton of time wasting by the AI armies.
Once Jon Snow was crowned I had to marry him to one of my noble eligible courtiers since he refused a matrilineal one with my daughter even with a strong hook. I then used the hook to become Hand of the King and eventually regent. In the meantime I had killed off Jeyne Templeton after she became infertile following the difficult birth of Petyr Jr and proceeded to marry Jon Arryn’s other daughter to give myself some legitimacy Ramsay Bolton style, although not fully Ramsay style since she seems to have a good opinion of me. Snow fathered a couple kids and won a few weak rebellions after which I had him killed, became regent, and eventually used a Throne Claim and Abduction scheme to overthrow his young son Aemon and make myself King. Now because of my lavish gifts and coronation I am beloved and the Realm is incredibly stable, I also granted the Vale back to my wife with her side of house Baelish set to be the future LPs of the Vale.

Screenshot (Submods are Enabled) The Downfall & Unease
A successful raid on the Usurpers warcamp lead to his capture, thus allowing for a conclusion to the meagre dance of the dragons. A total of two dragons had died, it is time for the House of the Dragon to reaffirm their position or lose everything.
