ISACA CCP APPLICATION

I’ve been an ISACA member for over 20 years. I have a “platinum“ membership. I hold a current CISM certification informally CRISC certification.

Still, in order to get my CCP, they required me to go through an application process, proving that I’ve been involved in the SECURITY space for at least two years.

Seems like they might’ve known that?

It’s just paperwork and a formal approval process. Fill it out. Send it in. Move on.

Done did it… still irks me… if you’re an ISACA member you know. It isn’t cheap (over 20 years). They should know me!

(Stand by while I put some Tiger Balm on my bruised ego…)

These days, I just assume there’s some modern ‘workflow’ tool running everything. An automated checklist driven by some poor human with an impersonal “metric” that measures their ‘throughout’.

They only have time to review the materials submitted, otherwise it’s a quick “no”.

There’s no room for egos, ids, or superegos. More’s the pity.

You are not wrong to feel this way. I just joined ISACA for CMMC certs. They absolutely are milking you for your money at every point possible. Explain why I need to pay a fee for each ladder of the CMMC certifications when I go to recertify? Explain why I need to get my CCP first, when CCPs aren't even really allowed to come to their own decisions. Explain why I HAVE to pay for a boot camp essentially if I can easily just study for the exam and pass. (I literally just clicked through the training, studied my ass off and passed the tests).

I already feel like CompTia and ISC2 switched to CEU models as a money grab/subscription tier... But ISACA went to another level. It's quite frankly disgusting. When asked why, the CEO said well it's priced accordingly to the job opportunities that it's going to provide for you at each level. So essentially hey, we want a cut of your earnings because hey you can afford it. You're welcome.

ISACA seemed like rubbish to me.

Their certifications seemed old and out of touch to me.

Their webinars were total amateur hour.

And their customer service seemed pretty uninterested. I got strong, thanks for your money now fuck off vibes.

I like CompTIA and ISC2 alot better.
