Is the food here any good
I'm a freshman and I've noticed I get pretty hungry when I'm here, I've been thinking about bringing my own lunch but I was wondering if the food spots on campus are any good

Welcome to the CSUB subreddit. This is a platform where you can express your TRUE thoughts about the campus anonymously.
This isn't an "official" CSUB subreddit. Post praises, rants, events, questions, or anything related to CSUB.

Hi! I know i 110% qualify for the SUG and this would be my first semester receiving it however it doesn’t show on my financial aid package at all. Anyone else? or is it not finalized yet? I assumed it would be since we’re gonna start school next week and this is about the time we would get our refunds.

I was approved but I am waiting for my agreement. They said that takes like 4 weeks? Does it really take that long. Im worried it wont be sorted out before class. I also had to apply for a grant appeal.

I submitted my appeal about 2 weeks ago now. Long story short my SAI is much higher than last year due to me working full-time before enrolling into the University.
I had to submit an appeal last semester too and can’t remember how long it takes to get approved. I’m worried it won’t come through and I’ll be left to pay out of pocket.

My friend is a student in the Dental Hygiene program at Taft College, and she and her classmates are currently in need of patients for a dental checkup and teeth cleaning. They provide dental x-rays, oral cancer screenings, and obviously teeth cleaning and checkups. The price is very cheap at $25, and if there is a true need, and you are unable to afford the cleaning, she or her classmates may be able to accommodate. If you haven't had a cleaning in a while, this is a really good opportunity to get a checkup and cleaning at a low cost. The sessions generally last around 3 hours, and she has several different times available during the week. If you're interested at all or know anyone who might be, please message me or comment and I can get you in contact with my friend or someone else in the program.

does anyone know the actual dates where you may be penalized… I never pay on the first Thursday of semester. Nothing ever happens to me, I’m never dropped from a class etc. In fact, I’m over a month late and nothing has happened (I’m about to do a huge payment)
some people say we have until the end of semester to actually finish paying..

I got my bachelors at CSUN and it was a good school however there’s been lots of disability discrimination at CSUN lately. So i don’t wanna go to CSUN for my masters.

Pre Health Track
Anyone else taking Pre-Health at CSUB and planning to apply for the nursing program?
My daughter was set to start the COPE/Scholar Health volunteer program this July to complete the 200 clinical volunteer hours for additional application points. Per the application, this is the only volunteer program they would accept, but we received an email yesterday that the program was canceled 😞 (so much $ we spent, drug testing, TB testing, uniforms, fees, etc). I’m so annoyed about that.
Is anyone else now scrambling trying to figure out alternatives?
We spent yesterday afternoon enrolling her into phlebotomy courses so she can work toward licensure instead, but unfortunately she won’t have enough time to complete the 6 months of work experience for the extra points before applying as she intends to apply in January 2027.
Traveling to an LA COPE site really isn’t feasible for us since we all work full time.
Would love to hear if anyone else is in the same situation and your thoughts.

Has anyone received an academic integrity violation and how did it end up going? I got accused of cheating and have a meeting with the dean of students next Tuesday.

I'm transferring to CSUB Fall 2026 as a Kinesiology Applied Healthcare major. I don't talk to an advisor for a couple weeks, but I saw that part of the major is getting an internship. It looks like I won't need to worry about doing that for awhile, but I figured I'd ask now: where do people get Kinesiology internships in Bakersfield/Kern County?

hey guys! I’m transferring from cc to csub nursing program, and i’m wondering if anyone is looking for a roommate? or if there’s a specific site i can find people like ig, facebook, etc. I would preferably want a roommate who is also in the nursing program..
Also does anyone who currently goes to CSUB have any good recommendations for apartments or certain areas to look into. Anything would help!
