Anyway, I'm currently a high schooler in Indiana, but I want to study marine science at csumb as I'm very interested in their research program, work with the MBA/MBARI, and overall location. However, it's been hard to find scholarships for out-of-state students, and I’m afraid I won't be able to afford attending a college I actually like on the coast. Has anyone here come from inland and have any advice?

For context, my parents are a public school teacher and a self-employed guitar teacher, so the budget's pretty slim but not low enough for most financial aid.

Anyone in east campus interested in taking walks in the evening or mornings? Even if you dont want to talk and just encouraging buddy to get out and hold each other accountable? trying to walk everyday and up my steps to 10k :)

Check in when you park and say how full the lot was. See how full lots were before you drive over.

Report someone writing tickets and anyone following that lot gets a push in seconds.

Does a lot more, direct notifications incase your lights are on, hit n run, getting towed etc. You can report gas prices in the area aswell.

I've mapped every UC and CSU as-well if you come by this and now go to another school. You can see all the parking lots owned by the school and if they are staff lots.

If you're on campus, check in once when you park. If you're at the gym or at the window at prom & see parking enforcement shelling out tickets. Report em.

I'm new to CSUMB but how did administration think it was okay to only have the fitness center meet the needs of the entire student base that aren't athletes or taking fitness classes as the only gym on campus? There's literally a Sports, recreation, and leisure activity fee and they didn't have the oversight to either expand or plan to build out the fitness center for the rest of the students? Expanding hours is cool but doesn't change the fact that there's only so many limited machines or equipment for people to use.

Good morning. I got a notification about invoices on my oasis but I saw that it says i only have the middle class grant as pending aid and wanted to see if it was just because aid just went through? And not that i have nothing left over? Im low key panicking a bit.

Also, where to stay overnight in your car. I did at the Walmart recently with no issue.

hey everyone -- I'm putting this out into the ether because the conversation was excellent and I'd love to reconnect.

between sets at the Pearl & the Oysters show last night (Saturday), I went outside at The Independent looking for a cigarette. I ended up talking to Mason, a guy who lives in LA but comes up to the Bay once a month.

we were having a brilliant, deeply present conversation, but right on cue, the universe threw a wrench in our flow. one of his friends kindly offered a keef-rolled joint, I took exactly one hit, and it immediately short-circuited my entire system (🤦).

because I could feel myself going totally nonverbal, my brain went on autopilot. I awkwardly blurts out, "It was great talking to you, nice to meet you," and initiated a very formal handshake. I absolutely didn't mean to end such a great conversation so abruptly or give you social whiplash — I was just trying to gracefully exit before the weed completely took over my vehicle.

30 M, live in a three bedroom place. I have one of the rooms as my office. But have another room that will come with a personal half bathroom. I have washer and dryers, I just ask that you be quiet and clean.
