Advice needed
*trigger warning pregnancy loss*
I have been told I’m having a missed miscarriage. I’m awaiting a call from the grange to schedule me in for medical management option.
Has anyone been through this and can give me some advice regarding what to expect? What the experience is like going through this at The Grange hospital? Anything I should know?

Hi lovely! Sorry to hear you’re experiencing this. I actually had to have a TFMR in December at the Grange and they were so great with it.
I was offered a medicated termination. I had the first tablet at Royal Gwent and then was called in the next day to be admitted into the hospital.
I arrived at around 11am. I had my own private room and my husband got to stay with me. They gave us both lunch and said that it’s best to eat first and use the toilet as once you have the tablet, you have to lay down for an hour. I had the second tablet (vaginally as it’s supposed to be a bit faster than orally) around 1pm and delivered at 5pm.
I was 13 weeks when I was admitted. I didn’t really experience much pain, just some light cramping and feeling really tired. I felt a sort of rock dropping feeling and about 20 minutes later my water broke. Make sure to take maternity pads with you specifically, as I only took sanitary pads. As your waters will break so don’t bother wearing any trousers. You can ask not to see anything once you’ve delivered and they will take anything you deliver away.
You’ll bleed heavily for a good while and they may keep you overnight to keep an eye on blood loss. I stayed overnight.
We initially didn’t want to see our baby, but changed our mind the next day and opted to see them. They put them in a little knitted coat and you can opt for a memory box etc to remember them by.
We were offered genetic testing, we opted for testing the placenta rather than our boy. It hasn’t really worked out for us but we still stand by that decision.
They may offer you a funeral service depending on how far along you are.
Anything else, please ask. I wish I had asked for details as I went in clueless.
EDIT TO SAY: my nurse was Sam and my doctor was Zoe and they were SO nice, understanding and supportive. Honestly couldn’t have gone through it without them there helping me (and my husband ofc)
