2 snags with powder coating frames:
The finish is never as glossy as lacquer
If you have to make any changes, the stuff is a bastard to remove, and impossibl eto repair.
I understand the "it's so tough" attraction, but I'd never powder coat a bike frame. Wheels, maybe.

Wrap it up well before you start, two or three layers of masking tape at the very least. Thank me later
