I didn’t realize they were touring last year and was late to the party! What’s everyone’s opinions on this new tour? I signed up for presale access just in case

I keep coming here to talk about how much I hate the new singles and how much Cage sucks now and how Matt should just go solo because that's what the band is now, is just his solo project, and I swear to god, I can barely get anyone to agree with me!
Every time I say the new songs are bland, somebody disagrees. Every time I explain why the band has lost its way, somebody has the audacity to have a different opinion. Every time I say that the band should bring Lincoln back, people tell me to stop living in the past and that the band is "evolving" (whatever that means).
I've been trying to find a nice, quiet place where everyone will validate my complaints about Cage, and I just don't understand why I can't get people to agree with me in this fan sub.
This is extremely disappointing. I will be conducting a mini experiment to determine why there are so many fans in this fan group.
Edit: credit to u/flinkle for the inspiration.

(a little rant, i still love cage the elephant)
Like seriously??? Beaches In Tennessee got so and so “leaked” two months before the band officially acknowledged it, Same thing now with Dying in Reverse, it got “leaked” like a month and a half or so ago and just now today the band posted a teaser on Instagram.
-
The album doesn’t come out until early 2027 at the latest, it seems ridiculous how they started promoting singles for it more than half a year before the full album drops, This never happened with RCA, why is Big Loud Rock spoiling Cage’s music 😓 3 minutes is too short for 15 second teasers man, and not to mention them dragging out the teasers to the point you’ve already got the song before it releases if you just spend time stitching the parts together (like i literally did with Beaches In Tennessee weeks before it dropped)
Just a little rant sorry about that

I’ve been working on an iPhone app called RecordQuest, and it’s finally live on the App Store.
I built it because I felt like there was room for a vinyl app that focused less on being just a database or marketplace and more on the actual experience of collecting.
RecordQuest lets you:
• Build and organize your vinyl collection
• Keep a wishlist
• Rate records and save favorite tracks, notes, condition, and purchase info
• Create a collector profile
• Follow other collectors and see their activity
• View collection stats and achievements
• Find nearby record stores
• Search other cities for record shops
• Check in when you visit stores
• Track how your collection grows over time
I’m not trying to replace Discogs. Discogs is great for detailed release info, pressings, and marketplace data.
What I’m trying to build is more of a Letterboxd-style social experience for vinyl collecting somewhere your collection actually feels like a profile, where you can discover other collectors, see what people are adding, and interact with the hobby beyond just cataloging records.
It’s completely free right now, and since this is the first public version, I’m really looking for feedback from actual collectors.
If you try it, I’d especially love to know:
What features would make you keep using a vinyl collecting app long-term
App Store:

I know about the g*n incident, but to my understanding, that was because of matts' mental health and not because he intended to hurt anyone.
I have loved cage for years and have never heard of any wild controversy, but I want to check that i haven't missed anything before getting the tattoo 🫣
Any help is massively appreciated! thank you!

I have a neon pill vinyl signed on the cover by the whole band. What's the approx value those would go for these days?

It brings me back to who I actually was growing up, they recreate vibes that don’t exist anymore. Leave any song recommendations down below that is your favorite, I’m starting to get a lot of songs

been a longggg time fan of cage the elephant (10ish years) and I keep getting these two as “ads” on instagram. I haven’t really seen anything else about it and it feels like I found something either really cool or possibly ai? I tried running it through lyric finders, used ai to look it up but ultimately nothing. If anyone knows anything, I’d love to know :) it’s also on my tiktok, which is: prestatium
side note: I tried asking about this once and someone was telling me about the movie, the first clip is from the movie Project Hail Mary and the second clip is from SpongBob.

I attended the Neon Pill tour in 2024 in St. Louis. I remember buying this white long sleeved cage the elephant shirt there and I wore it for a few months before it disappeared. All I really remember is that it was a thicker fabric, white, long sleeved, and has I believe 3 stars on each sleeve. It definitely had a graphic on the front as well but I don't remember what. I've tried googling the shirt for awhile and looked through old photos of the merch stand and can't seem to find and evidence of it existing. Does anyone else remember this shirt and potentially have a photo of it? It was one of my favourites while I had it.

This sounded so nice and pleasant I had to share. The great thing about piano covers is you can enjoy the melody for that it is.
Anyone know of any other instrumental CTE songs? I'd love to listen to an albums worth.

Recently I've been listening to old playlists of mine from 15-20 years ago. CTE's first couple albums are featured heavily and I still hold them in extremely high regard. So I was pretty surprised when I came to this sub and saw that while not necessarily hated, most of the praise is directed at their newer stuff while the first few albums frequently come near the bottom of people's favorite album posts. I seem to be the the exact opposite. I have all their albums, but I really only listen the first first few.
What am I missing? I saw Cage the Elephant at Lollapalooza in 2011. It was absolutely pouring rain. Despite that Matt climbed the fence to the side of the stage, dive bombed off into the crowd, and landed right on top of where we were standing, kicking me in the head in the process. It was awesome and a core musical memory of mine. That's the Cage the Elephant I remember. Where songs like Sabre Tooth Tiger, Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked, and Tiny Little Robots always got the crowd going and were the reason people were there.
I know this take will rub people the wrong way, but what the hell prompted the dramatic shift in their sound? They went from an energetic take on garage/indie rock to just another overly produced indie pop act. Is it just a generational thing? Chasing the algorithm? The Spotify generation for whatever reason seems to avoid loud guitars and gravitates towards pop and soft hip hop.
I know bands age and their sound changes accordingly, but this seems more dramatic than usual.

Sounds like the chorus and it's so good

Cage The Elephant has posted on their social media “Putting the finishing touches on the new album with new music coming soon! Thought we’d close out with a little Beaches in Tennessee” with a clip of Matt, Matthan, and Nick playing Beaches in Tennessee on a staircase.
So much hype now!!! I can’t wait

In the Dolby Atmos mix (available on Apple Music, TIDAL and other places), you can hear crickets and waves splashing in the two channels behind you. You can hear them if you own an iPhone, turn on “Head Tracked” mode with AirPods, and turn your head to the left or right.
You can hear the crickets during the first verse, and the waves splashing are more noticeable during the “i won’t live a lie” part towards the end of the song.
I noticed this yesterday and thought it was pretty awesome. Just wanted to share

As a decade old CTE fan, this is arguably their best song: the guitar and bass groove is hypnotic, the chorus has a beautiful vocal melody, the production has contrasts; it’s dark but has a euphoric mood.
I’ve seen like one video of them playing this live. I will admit this song is quite different from their discography. Nonetheless, it’s probably their most creative song.

I can’t be the only one who misheard this.

I have been listening to tons of Queens of the Stone Age, Ren and Black Sabbath over the past year. Excited to get back into Cage the Elephant. Awesome band. Discovering/re-discovering music you love is the best.

How are these fake bot accounts with hardly any followers able to say “stream now” on a song that isn’t out ? How do they have access to this song? Never seen anything like this.

Do you like the new song? Beaches of Tennessee? I do!
