EDIT: It's a Sony 50mm f1.8

I found this lens for about $160. I’m buying it from a studio, and they say it’s barely been used. I have a basic knowledge of photography and lenses, and I just want a basic lens to shoot some videos. What do you think? What kind of things should I check on this lens?

Tried looking and information on Reddit on adapting it onto Sony bodies is sparse. I know for $99 USD it won't be the tippy top quality glass but overall, has it been a solid lens for anyone who has used it onto a Sony? Looking to put it onto an a6400 so vignette shouldn't be a major issue for me.

Looking to upgrade my son’s T7 lenses. His favorite shots are plane spotting and birds maybe. Already has the standard EF 75-30mm and 18-55 mm lenses. Just looking for next step up. Any info is appreciated. I’ve tried to explore my options and am completely lost fairly quickly. Thank you.

Will it be a downgrade to move to 24-105?
I mostly don’t use wide open 2.8
And what attracts me is 24mm at wide and 105 vs 75

Though I’ll loose F2.8

But I do work with lights and strobes as well
Sony might be softer in comparison to tamron
And has zoom barrel extension , while Tamron internal zoom

For my canon r50 which lens should ibuy? The Tamron SP 70-300mm Di VC USD, the canon 55-250mm is stm or the canon ef 70-300mm is usm. Ishot mostly nature and a bit of wild life and macro. All of them are around 150-200 dollars from ebay-japan, in a near mint condition and up.

I have been using telephoto lenses for portraits and birding, and a 50 (ish) lens as my walk-around lens.

I have bought a nice wide angle, but it is just weird shooting with it. I have tried 28mm and 24mm. The problem is I hardly see if the focus is right (MF with Nikon DF) but that has never been an issue with my 50/telephoto lenses.

I think I just need to get used to it. Also, the fact that I cannot really check the photo on the DF's screen because it is lower resolution.

I mostly just deleted my wide angle pictures because as soon as I've watched them back they felt low resolution and just a mess. But yesterday I thought let's keep them and watch them back on my dedicated monitor. Well, turns out, it is way better. There are some decent shots, and I like the pictures.

Just the fact that it is weird, because I see a way wider image in the VF than I am used to and I feel like my landscapes are boring.

Have any of you been here? Can anything help me get better at this? Can you suggest me tips or videos, channels to watch? I want to get better at this, I just do not know how :)

My main camera is a Canon R6 Mark II with a 45mm lens. I want to add a portrait lens, and I’m trying to decide between spending more on a faster 85mm and switching lenses, or getting a Canon RP + RF 85mm f/2 as a second body so I don’t have to switch lenses.
What would you choose?

Hey, I’ve got the Sony a6400 and my friends wants to sell me his sigma Lens for cheap, im planning to buy a full frame in march (ill be in japan at that time).

Let me know if that’s a good idea or should I stick with the kit lense until march :)
