Spare Starlink WIFI signal for Rental
galleryWent camping at Algonquin last month and got the Starlink Mini with me to get some signals.
It still works fine even with some tree cover. It was really nice knowing I could still reach family if needed, especially in case of an emergency.
Now it’s just sitting at home, so I figured I’d rent it out to other campers heading to places with little or no cell service.
💰 $25/day or $150/week
💵 Refundable deposit
📡 Starlink Mini + cable included
🔌 Can also include a tripod or car power adapter if needed
Pickup is in North York / Downtown Toronto.
If you’re heading to Algonquin, Killarney, Quetico, Bon Echo, or another off-grid spot, feel free to message me. Happy to share my experience with the Mini!

Planning a Trip to Hudson’s Bay From Southern ON.
I made a post on here months ago, seing if anyone was interested in joining the plans for this epic adventure. The number 1 piece of feedback I got on my previous post was, “you’re not prepared” which I agree with. But now months later I have invested and increased my gear and now I think this coming fall I might go.
MAIN GEAR: - 2008 Ford Ranger fx4.
-100lbs of tools.
-50lbs of spare parts.
- Full sized spare tire.
-68lb aluminum cap to sleep in and an keep cargo dry.
- Rooftop Awning.
- Garmin GPS for no service NAV.
- Garmin Satellite phone for safety.
-Cell booster Antenna.
-CB Radio.
- 50 Gals of fuel in Jerry cans.
- Primus fulled hot plate
- Woods propane 2 burner stove.
- 10 cans of propane.
And ofc other camping gear such as sleeping bags, washrooms items, and more (Basic gear that everyone has).
Trip would likely take a week, as I would like to take my time and see the sights along the way. If anybody is interested let me know, and we discus more about it in dms.
Stuff like days and dates are to be determined, as I’m very free at the moment and can go any time this coming fall. I would be interested in planning a prep trip before the big voyage to meet the people who are interested though.
Dm me and we can discuss plans, thanks..

Bruce Peninsula Stormhaven Backcountry Hike
I'll be camping at the stormhaven backcountry sites and I was wondering which parking lot is better to park at: halfway log dump trailhead or cypress lake P2? Any feedback is appreciated.

Fall camping. Arrowhead or Charleston PP?
Looking for places that are 2-3 hours away from the Pickering area. Have landed on either but I can't decide which is better. Looking to camp the first weekend of October to satisfy the camping bug until next year.
Open to other suggestions too!

Should Ontario Apply Quebec Rules?
The Quebec version of Ontario Parks passed new rules this year. In order for people to enjoy nature and a peaceful time, the new rules include: no music or speakers, no guitars, no generators during certain hours, and nobody not registered at your site after 10pm.
Should Ontario apply the same rules for Ontario Parks campgrounds?

Kawartha P. P. - Copper Lake to Anderson Lake.
Hey All!!.. Planning on going to Kawartha Lakes in the next few weeks. I'll be leaving from Anstruther access, and staying on Anderson Lake the first night. Jeffs maps, and Ontario parks booking, state that getting to Anderson from Copper can only be done in high water, not late season.. My only other option is getting to Anderson through Serpentine, which is longer, with multiple portages..
I'm wondering if anyone has recently went through this section, or has ever been through it this time of year (late August).
Any advice or knowledge would be much appreciated!!
Thank you!

Where to pick some mealworms for fishing in Oshawa/Whitby area?
Hi folks. Where to pick some mealworms for fishing in Oshawa/Whitby area? PetSmart seems to be out of stock.
I wish I had the guts to handle night crawlers. I just built up enough courage to rig with meal worm to take my kid out to fish.
There are few good days coming up and weather is nice.
Thanks in advance.

Charleston Lake/Silver Lake/ Sharbot Lake
I have been to these parks since I was a kid. But I remember I loved them!
We have a 30 ft trailer. What are you favorite sites? I’d like something close to washrooms and showers, no slope and some shade. Oh and we’re going in Sept or Oct.

Sharing Canadian Campsite Photos/Videos With Other Campers (How to Incentivize?)
Hi all, I've already posted here before in the winter, so feel free to take down - some people just felt it might be useful for them and we've had a few people already upload (which I really appreciate - I won't mention their usernames here for their privacy).
Anyway, my family and I have put together a website that we've wanted ourselves when booking campsites at Provincial/Federal parks - a place to see what a campsite actually looks in real life (from other users) like instead of some grainy old photo from 2005 that doesn't show the outhouse or swamp right beside the site.
A few of these sites exist but they're behind a paywall. We've noticed there are some Facebook groups that allow people to share, but it's not very "centralized", if that makes sense (one group might b e for Algonquin, one might be for Calgary, etc).
SO, I've been thinking as an incentive to get more people to start adding to this site (where all the Canadian provincial/federal parks are), each photo/video upload enters the user another "raffle" to win a $10 Amazon or Cabelas e-gift card.
I know it's a tiny incentive, but we're already paying hosting, server, database, email service, etc fees out of pocket, and it's not easy, but we're hoping this will help other campers in the long term once people start adding photos.
What are people's thoughts on this? Any other ideas on incentives?
I'll remove the link if it's not allowed, but since I'm not selling anything, hopefully it's okay: www.camppics.ca

First time camping in Ontario Need recommendations
Hey everyone, first time camping in Ontario and looking for some tent advice.
It’ll be me, my wife, and our large-breed dog. We’re thinking about going to Killbear Provincial Park. I’m looking for a 6–8 person tent around C$200.
I was looking at Ozark Trail tents from Walmart, but I’m not sure how they handle rain. I want something spacious that won’t leak and can handle Ontario weather.
Any recommendations for a good beginner tent? Thanks!
