I’m an Architecture graduate from India with 1 year of experience as a Junior Architect in a construction company. I’ve received an offer for the Spring intake at Northeastern University Toronto for MS in Project Management – Construction Management concentration.

My goal is to transition into construction/project management roles in Canada.

For someone with my background, is Northeastern Toronto a good choice in terms of reputation, job opportunities and ROI?

Or would it be better to wait for the September intake and explore other university options?

Would really appreciate honest opinions, especially from Northeastern students/alumni or people working in the Canadian construction industry.

I am an international applicant applying to Ontario universities with an OSSD, but my educational history is a bit unusual and weird.
Here is a breakdown:

• I completed Secondary 1.
• I did not attend Secondary 2 or Secondary 3 and moved directly into IGCSE.
• While attending the International School, I took the IGCSE Computer Science examinations in the May/June 2025 session. I was registered under the school’s name for that subject.
• Then left the School because of some issues.
• I independently studied the remaining IGCSE subjects at home and took them as a private candidate in the Oct/Nov 2025 session.
• Therefore, I have two separate official Edexcel IGCSE certificates. One is under my school name, and another one as a private candidate.
• Afterward, I completed an OSSD.

I am now genuinely confused about how I should present my academic background in OUAC. I listed the school I attended for IGCSE but how should I record the period after leaving that school when I studied independently and sat the remaining IGCSE examinations as a private candidate? Since homeschooling was not an actual institution, what should I put as the institution name and address? Also, could not having separate Secondary 2 or Secondary 3 transcripts cause a problem for Ontario universities, even though I later completed an OSSD and have an Ontario Student Transcript?

I already have an OSSD and an official Ontario Student Transcript, but I am worried that the universities might ask for Secondary 2 and Secondary 3 transcripts, which do not exist because I never attended those levels. Will I face the same problem regarding the school name and my private-candidate status when universities ask for transcripts?

I am sorry for asking so many questions. I contacted OUAC, but they gave me a vague answer. I also did some research but found nothing.

Hi guys I'm applying as a domestic student but I've studied from Pakistan. I got 8As and A stars in my O-Levels with Physics, Chem, bio, maths, add maths English, Pakistan Studies, and Islamiat as my subjects. In my first year of As I took Chem, Bio, Maths, and Physics with my grades being AAAB in that order. I'm expecting my predicted grades to be A*AAA or hopefully better. I also have pretty decent ECAs having rowed professionally for 3 years and over 1000+ dedicated community service hours over multiple different things particularly helping neurodivergent individuals and Terminally ill children. Additionally I was a TA in my O level school and the president of the chess club.

I also had some questions I wanted to ask for unis in general. Hows the campus culture itself and how is it compared to other unis in canada only along with that what's better for my degree UofT or Waterloo.

How would you choose between these offers? Hard to decide

Hello, I am trying to see if it's worth it to apply to a University in Canada as a not very well off Jamaican student. I have a diploma from the University of Technology Jamaica (Electrical engineering) and I really wanted to pursue my bachelor's at the same school. I'm experiencing difficulties and I'm considering if I even have a chance to go abroad and study. I have a good GPA but I'm wondering if that would be enough, I don't have money to even think about paying for the schooling so I would love some form of financial aid. I'm hearing that that's quite difficult though so I'm worried if I'm wasting my time and maybe I should just stay in the situation I'm currently in.

2. Executive Secretary for Student Council -> Logistics for school events, certain announcements, and maintaining a log of meetings. 
3. Co-Founded Club -> First STEM Club in our school, with monthly experiments during lunch, slideshows, posters, and games. 
4. Independently created a completely free study resource for IB students -> web application for IB topical questions for various subjects.
5. Independent Piano Learning -> Learning various classical pieces
6. Engineering Competition Top 15 Placement
7. Campaign Manager for Vice President of Student Council
8. 200 Hours+ for volunteering at local municipal facilities such as museums and libraries**.**

I'm mainly worried about my ECs because they aren't very good compared to other applicants.

Also, how could I maximize my chances of getting in? Any resources/advice for interviews/supp?

Im from Chile, currently studying my last high school year and I’ve been REALLY considering going to Canada to study a bachelor’s degree (? I think that’s the name, basically getting a degree there.
My mother is legally Canadian as her father was born there, I currently do not have the Canadian citizenship but I can get it, as far as I know that gives me a lot of benefits compared to a normal foreign student.
I want to study Civil Engineering or a Business related degree, so I was wondering and wanted to ask how much it costs for a canadian citizen, as I could be legally canadian, as well as know how expensive it is to live there.

I received offers for both courses, but I’m genuinely confused and trying to weigh the pros and cons. My ultimate goal is to become a CPA, and I’m an international student. The Brock MPAcc program offers a coop and a few exemptions for CPA and will take approximately 18 months, while the UBC program is a 12-month program with a more prestigious reputation. I would greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions you can provide regarding this decision. Thank you very much.

Hi everyone, I'm an international high school student planning my roadmap for undergraduate studies in Computer Science / Al around 2029-2030. Canada is one of my top options alongside the US.

1. Academics & Admissions: Since Canadian universities rely heavily on grades, what high school GPA percentage is considered competitive for top CS programs (like Waterloo, U of T, UBC, or mid-tier options)?

2. Financial Aid/Scholarships: How realistic is it for international students to get significant entrance scholarships or merit- based funding for CS?

3. English Proficiency: What IELTS/TOEFL scores should I be aiming for to be fully safe?

Final-year microbiology undergrad (India, private university, not IIT, not a CS/bioinformatics degree) hoping to start a funded thesis based MSc in Canada (bioinformatics/computational biology) for Fall 2027. Trying to get an honest outside read on where I actually stand.

Quick facts:

1. CGPA 8.17/10 overall (~8.67/10 over the last two years) — had a rough patch for personal/family reasons in the middle semesters that pulled the overall average down but it’s climbed every semester since ( Microbiology research student)
2. For my dissertation I taught myself the full computational stack (causal inference, network analysis, metabolic modeling, ML) to fill the gap, even my mentors complimented on my hard work. Zero formal CS background going in.
3. No publications but the full pipeline is documented and open-source, prolly github
4. IELTS booked, also finishing two ML/stats courses to shore up the formal quant side.
5. Did a few internships ( not for a long period but for like a month cuz that’s how much time i could get in between sem breaks): govt hospital labs, IIT delhi (microbiology lab) and few unofficial projects or research during my egree in my own univ).
6. Already did a thorough research on univs and faculties. Planning on cold-emailing PIs directly from october (if its the best time), since funded Master’s spots here seem to run through individual supervisors having space/money, not just a committee admit.
7. (I dont think its appropriate to mention this) my biggest achievement in my life

was winning a national contest witha

1. sponsored trip to south korea for two by the korean embassy. Idk if i should mention this in my cv.

Would love outside eyes on: is this actually competitive for funded spots, anything obviously missing from the profile or professors/programs worth looking into that I might not have on my radar. Thanks!

I’m going into Grade 12 and with OUAC opening soon I’m trying to figure out where I actually want to go.
I’m not 100% sure what I want to study yet, but I’m interested in **psychology, neuroscience and life sciences**. I like science but I’m also really interested in social issues, pop culture, trends and human behaviour, so I want a program that gives me some flexibility.
My main options:
**York:** Probably my favourite academically for psych + I really want to live in Toronto since I’m from a smaller city. BUT everyone calls it a commuter school with no social life 😭 I would be living on residence though, so does that make it better?
**uOttawa:** Really interested in their neuroscience program and I like that it’s in a city. But it’s far from home, I hate flying and I don’t speak French. I’m worried I’ll regret moving that far away.
**McMaster:** Great for science and seems to have a good student community, but I visited and just…didn’t feel the vibe at all 😭 I literally wanted to go home. I’m thinking of visiting again during an open house before ruling it out.
I’ll be **living on campus wherever I go**, and I want a good social life, clubs/events, a strong sense of community AND a good program.
If you go to any of these schools, what has your experience actually been like? And based on what I’m looking for, which would you choose?

I actually went somewhere for vacation, and I was supposed to come back on August 28th, but then the airline messed up, and the next flight they had available was for September 17th (without me getting charged anything extra). Now I’m going to be at least 10 days late… I don’t know how I’m going to catch up with everyone 😭😭
I’m a shy person, so I was actually kinda happy and excited about orientation week because I feel like it would’ve made making friends easier for me, especially since I’m not from here. But now I’m freaking out about the whole socializing and missing-classes situation… Any tips/advice?
