As a CMD, I'm working 47.5 hours a week M-F. I'm just curious what others experiences may be.

Who will and will not have to do the new army course that they are implementing?

If you completed BMQ-L previously and are trade qualified, will you still be required to complete this course? I am hearing conflicting things and haven't heard anything official yet.

Thanks.

This is the thread to ask and discuss general administration questions that don't really need a thread of their own. It will also double as a thread for ongoing events such as Policy, APS/BGRS, TD/Claims, etc., and may be used for various CANFORGEN's as they're released.

This thread will be automatically renewed on the 1st of each month at 00:00 Eastern Time.

RULES OF THE THREAD:

  1. All participants are welcome; however, questions relating to Recruitment/Application Processes, Recruit Training (BMQ/BMOQ, PAT, DP1/QL3, BMQ-L/BMOQ-A, etc.) and Scheduling, and other questions relating directly or indirectly to joining the CAF belong in the Weekly Recruiting Thread and will be removed at the discretion of the moderators. Administrative questions relating to VOT/COT's, CT's, and In-Service Selection programs may be permitted.
  2. When answering policy/administration questions, please provide references if available.
  3. Participants are reminded of the subreddit rules and unsubstantiated rumour, exaggerated commenting, or blatant falsehoods will be removed. Keep it civil, and level-headed. Comments may be removed at moderator discretion, with or without warning.
  4. Medical questions at mod discretion. Best answer is "Go talk to your Doc at your local Clinic/MIR/province. There are no verified medical personnel here, and this isn't a medical discussion thread.

Looking out for one another

So there's a tweet going around that's pretty mean, and it's aimed directly at one of us. I don't know any of the people involved, and I don't know their life story, I just see two happy people doing what seem to be their very best to serve their community and country.

Regardless of your personal opinion on people personal choices or health habits taking the bait is the opposite of looking out for your brothers and sisters in uniform. If you want to say you "support people in uniform" this is the time to show it.

A country that is showing itself increasingly hostile has taken a potshot at our member and I see a lot of Canadians joining in instead of supporting a uniform member going through what is probably a very shit time.

Lastly, to anyone that personally knows this member, please check up on them and make sure they are okay and that they know that most of the country supports them.

VOT from infantry to AOS tech

Basically looking for Information from any current or past AOS techs, on what your doing day to day, training pipe line (how long course is, where you did it), how’s the work environment, do I get a posting preference. Is it basically the Infanteer/bitch of the airforce or are you treated well? Pretty fed up with things on the infantry side after 4 years.

Any info is appreciated, thank you!

Question for people who have worn the new combats.

I have a question for people who have worn the new combats. What are they like in terms of comfortability and durability? They appear to be somewhat similar to the black combats the navy has. Is that the case? Also it's my understanding that these combats will have both male and female cuts. For any female members, how did you like the female cuts in comparison to the previous/current uniforms?

Thanks in advance.
