Window Replacement

Does anyone have any recommendations for replacing windows? We don’t have to follow historical codes which helps. I’m still dreading the process. I called one place and then they came out to give us an estimate but because only one of us was home, they refused to even give us a ballpark or let me look at options. It was a huge waste of time. This was after the sales person was 2hrs late to the scheduled appointment. They are still calling and emailing me. Maybe someone has had a better experience.

Not renewel by Anderson. They will rob you blind. You might have to just replace the window balances.

If you find someone, please report back! We bought a fixer upper 5 years ago in Courthouse and it has been an absolute nightmare finding people who do quality work. Our front door is still on the list, but it's not urgent and I'm just sick of dealing with dishonest people. It seems like unless you live in Stone Harbor/ Avalon most contractors won't even respond.

Following! I also have a small bathroom window that needs to be replaced in NCM. I reached out to South Jersey Glass & Door and they are supposed to be coming out for an estimate tomorrow. So far they were very nice on the phone but we will see what happens! I can report back.

We are in the process of getting new windows and doors through Champion Exteriors. Their office is in Villas. We’ve been happy with the process so far- windows are on order but taking a bit of time. They use Pella. Pricing seemed fair and their technician was very thorough.

Are you in a historical home? If so, unless there is crazy damage, it is almost always a better choice to restore the original windows vs replace. Those things were built incredibly well.

We are in a 27year old townhouse in WCM. They are pretty bad and won’t stay closed (from the top) unless locked. Liability at this point.

Ah got it. Yeah, that only applies to older homes.
