Missed connection - looking for James met at the Moby concert (Aug 21)

Post image

Hey all, long shot but hoping someone can help.

I met a guy at the Moby concert in Dublin on August 21st - we clicked, talked for a while, and both wanted to swap contacts before we left, but got separated in the crowd and never managed to.

What I know about him:

• His name might be James (not 100% sure I got it right)
• He’s probably in his 30s
• From Dublin and lives here
• Works as a social worker, and mentioned he worked with the Ukrainian community
• Planning to apply for a Master’s in Social Work at Trinity or UCD

If this is you, James - I wish we’d managed to exchange numbers that night.

And if anyone who was at the gig remembers him, or knows a James who fits this description - I’d really appreciate you passing this along or pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks for reading, and sorry for the vague details. Trying to respect his privacy while still hoping to find him. I know it’s a long shot, but I believe in the power of Reddit

What other dating apps apart from Hinge is most reliable?

I was speaking to a guy since April but it’s not working out well. We live in different counties and his communication is becoming so sparse. I’ve fallen into situationship and it’s going downhill.

I want to meet new people and try my luck with love. I don’t like Tinder and I used Hinge before and also thats where I met the previous guy. What else can I use?

Are the C-spine buses a fair bet to catch an early morning flight?

I have to be at the airport around 4.15 AM. No check in required. I am trying to find historical data for dublin bus being on-time but can’t find anything.

Has anyone taken any of the c spine buses to city centre at 2/3ish? Are they reliable? I know I can check on bustimes closer to leaving but any recommendations are welcome since the airport hopper is no longer operational.

Bought a house with a satellite

Hi all, just wondering what would be my options for using a satellite that came with my house? The cable seems to be already wired into the living room and I was hoping that it would still work. Do I just need to buy a decoder box and it should work?

Why are wasps congregating on my car?

Post image
20 Upvotes

I came out to my car at lunch today and there was wasps feasting on some sticky residue. Loads of them.

I went and washed the car and when I go back out this evening they’re back. Less than before but still back

For context live in Meath and have a large tree at end of drive that I think is dripping sap onto the car

Any tips don’t particularly want to get attacked by a group of boozed up wasps coming to the end of summer!

Anyone have any experience with TRULY dental?

I’m researching prices for dental implants - quoted 3700 from Seapoint in Blackrock. I don’t want to go too cheap and the quality is poor, teeth are precious and I want to make sure I go to the best place. So I’m wondering if anyone has been to TRULY dental and can provide any feedback?

Shite Talk GTA VI, who’s excited?

So, as a child/teenager, I used to be into consoles and video games. I have played and finished all GTAs to date. As I grew up, feel like I might have kinda lost interest a bit. I bought PS4 a few years ago, played like 3 times before I gave it to my younger cousin. I tried Fifa, formula 1 etc and of course GTA, stuff i’d have liked as a younger lad but just couldn’t do it.
Now that I have gotten rid of all the PS gear, Rockstar has finally decided to release GTA 6, I am wondering, should I forkout nearly a grand for a new PS5, controllers, headsets and what not or is it bound to be a waste.
When I had PS4, i used to live alone and had no online friends to play with either. Now I do have a partner, she tells me she’d love to play but idk if its one of those situations where she is being supportive or is genuinely interested.
What do you guys think?

Smell randomly appearing & disappearing in bathroom - plumbing advice anyone?

As stated in the subject line, there's a horrible gassy smell coming from the bathroom that just randomly seems to appear & disappear recently. We've had a drain survey done & no issues were found, so they suggested to just change the toilet. But I just wanted to see if anyone else could maybe shine a light on what the issue may be before forking out for a new toilet etc. as the smell isn't the only issue.

Aside from the smell, I've also noticed that after turning off the bathroom tap, sometimes there's a knocking sound in the pipe behind toilet for a few seconds.

Also while I was in the bathroom the other day, I could hear the water drain from the kitchen sink, as well as the washing machine draining (we live in a bungalow) which I've never heard before. Would this suggest it's more of an issue with the pipes rather than just the toilet?

I'd appreciate any advice!

Irish Bf and me ( half Indian-Half Italian) going to see his parents for the first time. What should I bring them ?

We live in London but visiting Ireland next week and this will be my first time seeing his family.

Edit - staying for 3 nights. Both of us have great jobs, so something a bit more expensive isn't an issue.

Edit 2: So since a lot of comments are about flowers and wine.

I am getting a bouquet of 🪷🪷🪷 Lotus flowers from the botanist (iconically Indian) and a few nice bottles of Italian wine. Throw in some Indian confectionary/barfis with Italian confectionary, too
