Hi all, I lost my TFN (piece of paper with it on it) & had previously called the ATO, proved my identity and they had given it back to me - but then once I tried to link it to MyGov, it wouldn't work? I'm going to call the ATO again today, to double check that the TFN they gave me was 100% correct and ask about the linking code thing.

Okay so... i somehow a few months ago i had someone at centerlink fill out all the forms for DSP with the only proof being 2 years worth of exemption letters saying i cannot work due to anxiety, depression, ADHD and ASD.

Since then I've managed to get re assessed with ASD (level 2) which scored me 10 points and 10 points with mental health even though i see myself as 20 points with mental health...

I found out yesterday that i need to complete or have started something called "program of support" (POS) even though i was never told by that from the many people from centerlink who have talked to me and helped me..

I've never worked in my whole life.. i have had in the past people at workforce Australia and even centerlink try to help me get jobs and even get out from my room, but my parent would tell them i couldn't..

I really don't know what to do now as i hear back from centerlink early this month... would i have to do the POS either way even though I've received 2 years worth of exemption letters and have had workforce Australia/ centerlink try to help me?

Is it also possible to get more points if i have my psychologist add proof of me having BPD, ADHD, dissociating and all the times I've stayed in a ward, hospital and other psychologist who have helped me? Thanks

I have enrolled into a Master of Nursing Science degree, set to commence in Feb 2027. This is a career change move for me and pretty daunting as I've never applied for payments before this (I wasn't eligible as I wasn't a citizen yet). I wanted to get a head start on understanding what kind of support payments I may be eligible for, as I will be leaving my full time career.

After reading through the eligibility criteria and some previous posts on here, it looks like I may have exceeded my "allowable time" to be eligible for AUSSTUDY. I already have a master's degree - started in 2016 and completed in 2018.

If anyone has been in this scenario, how did you get around it? Am I therefore eligible for jobseeker instead?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I'm starting to get nervous now thinking I won't be able to pursue my career in nursing!

Hi everyone! My application for jobseeker was approved. I had some savings but the wait time was waived and still no payment . Is going to be 3 weeks since it was waived.

I’m wondering if I should have received a letter or some kind of confirmation?

Context:

A more of a month ago my application was accepted after the phone call (also got a text) and said they will send me a letter with all the info. I never received a letter. I’m a first time applicant so no idea how this letters work.

A week later of being approved I had a call from a social worker, provided evidence of my circumstances and he said his team leader waived the wait times. I also never got confirmation of this but on the phone he said yes, it’s waived! And I uploaded all the info.

This is going to be week 3 and no payments, letter or send the health card.

Is this normal? Do they actually send you your house or just email? I have received none.

Hi, this is a strange and frustrating one. Hoping someone here may have experienced this before.

I submitted a Carer Payment/Carer Allowance claim on 10 July.

On 8 August, Centrelink put the claim on hold and requested some additional documents. I went into a Centrelink service centre to clarify everything and then submitted all of the requested information by 14 August, well before the 24 August deadline.

After that, the claim changed back to In Progress / Successfully Submitted, and Centrelink showed an estimated completion date of 3–10 September.

Then on 30 August, I checked the claim and it had suddenly changed to:

“Withdrawn — Your claim has been withdrawn and cannot be reinstated.”

I definitely did not withdraw the claim online, by phone or in person. There is also currently no rejection/outcome letter or explanation in my MyGov inbox.

I’ve tried calling Centrelink several times today but the phone system keeps disconnecting due to call volumes. I have a face-to-face appointment tomorrow to get it checked.

Has anyone had a Centrelink claim suddenly show as “withdrawn” even though they didn’t withdraw it? If so, what was the reason — processing error, manual processing, claim being re-entered, etc.? And was your original claim date preserved?

Hi all, I (23m) recently begun living with my girlfriend (24F) of 1 year and a friend of ours in a 2 bedroom apartment. I had updated my accommodation details online with myGov accordingly and I have just become aware that my payment has been cancelled due to my partners wage. For context I am a full time university student working casually earning roughly 1500 gross a fortnight and she is full time earning roughly 3500. We are completely financially independent and don’t share funds or have a joint bank account. However Centrelink have decided that because we are partners that she should be helping support me. I am just completely lost about what I can do at the moment. I feel punished for being in a relationship and am just looking for any advice possible.

Hey all. I was lucky enough to be offered a permanent role, but I am only contracted to start next year. Currently I am on JSK, and recieved 100 points for accepting this role last month. But obviously, I won't have any money or hours coming in until next year.

Do I stay on JSK, and try to find part time work sooner? If I do end up finding a job that wants to hire me sooner, does my account get flagged, as I have told centrelink I have effectively accepted two jobs?

my pay period for centerlink was between the 8th and 21st (im late reporting because of tech issues), i have an obligation to work 30 hours a fortnight. my payslips are from 03/08 to 09/08 (paid on 14th) and 10/08 to 16/08 (paid on 21st). according to the hours on these i only worked 26 hours. i started my holiday on the 17th, so the usual shifts that would have filled in the gaps until the 21st to make up 30 hours arent there. i got my payslip for my annual leave on the 30th and its all just bulk "annual leave". i dont have any hours specifically to bridge this gap. what do i do? do i put it in as 26 hours? my annual leave payslip didnt come in till after my reporting date. sorry if this is a dumb question, i am fully bamboozled by what i am supposed to do here

Hi! I know other people have made similar posts but I really need some advice. My youth allowance claim got rejected and I felt like this was my last hope. I live very far away from my parents to do uni full time, living with a roommate. I have applied for jobs but the job market where I live basically consists of full time work which obviously doesn’t suit. I also struggled severely with mental health in the workplace prior to this and was hoping that the youth allowance would help me to find my feet. I don’t know what to do as I’m running out of money quickly.

I was my husbands carer but we are separated as of last week and I will be filing for divorce. I’ve told Centrelink that we have separated and they have sent me forms to fill out that I’m still his carer… but I’m not. Do I still need to fill out these forms? Forms SA381 and SA010. Thank you.

Hey guys I am currently overseas and am trying to make a new JobSeekers claim. However, every time I go to make a claim, they ask me to update my address details. When I click on it, it constantly appears with the following page (linked below) stating that I am not eligible and there are updates relating to my address which are being processed, even though I have never even used centrelink or updated my address below.

Becuase I am overseas for around one month more, I cannot go into the actual office and I cannot access their phone line from overseas. Does anybody know any workarounds to this glitch, is it happening to me because I am overseas or is it a non-region issue?

I have used up my allowable time, had multiple appointments with Centrelink in person, multiple services officers have told me to basically commit fraud by getting the student team to say I finished my degree in July when it isn't finished until November, in order to apply for JobSeeker.

I took their names, did what they suggested and here I am, receiving JobSeeker while studying full time.

My employment provider has also said it is sus but it's not any of their worries as Centrelink literally told me to do it, I'm providing them with proof of enrolment that literally states I am studying full time. Will Centrelink somehow come back at me and try to say I owe them money?

I have the names of the workers who told me to do all of this, and I have been clear with EVERY SINGLE person I have spoken to that "I AM STILL STUDYING FULL TIME UNTIL NOVEMBER" and none of them said it matters as long as I do my obligations.

So, thoughts?

I've had a distal pancreatectomy and splenectomy 4 weeks ago due to pancreatic cancer, and I am having open heart surgery in a couple months due to mitral valve prolapse and severe regurgitation. Then it will be a whipple to remove the remaining head of the pancreas, which will then make me insulin dependant diabetic in about another 3 months. I'm currently on long service leave, which will run out in 8 weeks. Since I won't be working till probably next year, I was thinking of applying for sickness benefits or disability. I still have my job but I am thinking I will have to leave . I'm female 61. How hard is it to get onto centrelink? What's the procedure and how do I start it?

I asked chatgpt about getting jobseeker allowance i am on 20 hours a week $35/hr and the calculations says i might get about $69.30/fortnight which if true and I am eligible then why not

Currently not working have no income and have w redundancy psckage I've been living off but it's wearing thing. Have 2 children. Seprrated but share 50/50 and for ample time I had more care so would of been 70/30. Now the mother of my children is working full-time and also receiving single parent payment but I receive nothing. That doesn't seem right.

I currently get Youth Allowance. If I leave the country but continue to study an online subject can I still get Youth Allowance

Ok so quick context. Signed up for Jobseeker in April because I was in hospital for a few weeks and I only worked Casually (but essentially Part Time hours). Have exemption for working part-time and usually don't even get a payment because my income is over the threshold. Mostly kept it for the benefits of a HCC since I have a lot of meds.

I've been looking for a new job for awhile on and off since I hate working Casually anyway and recently just got hired full time. None of this was Provided assisted - technically i've never even MET my provider. They called me
once and that was it. I did also email them twice and never received a response. I also received the message saying I can cease working with my Provider now since I work over the hourly threshhold (at the job i'm about to resign from) and will absolutely be over the threshold at my new job. Ao I don't have to report points to Workforce and essentially have no obligations other than reporting to Centrelink.

When it says 'contact Centrelink if your circumstances have changed' does that mean I have to tell them, 'Yep I got a full time job', or can I just continue reporting fortnightly the hours and wages and wait until they cancel my JSK?
I also don't want my former provider knowing about my new workplace because the people there don't deserve an outcome payment and I don't want them to contact my workplace.

I've never had JSK before, i've only ever been on Youth Allowance when I was a uni student a few years back (graduated) and they work so differently haha.

I live at Oran Park and it takes me 2-3 hrs to get to uni in the city via public transport. Would I be eligible for RA?

What is the minimum amount of units you have to be studying per semester to receive youth allowance and how much can you get? What if you are towards the end of your degree and only have 2 units left?

Extra info in case needed: age 22, living with parents, no children.

Edit: Also, do payments pause during holidays?

Your JobSeeker income goes over the cut-off, payment drops to $0 (nil rate period), but you stay qualified/enrolled for up to 12 fortnights before it's suspended or cancelled.

Question: do those $0 fortnights count as "receiving JobSeeker" for the 26-of-39-weeks long-term income support test for Austudy? Or does only an actual payment count?

Checked the DSS Guide (1.1.L.100, 3.1.12) — doesn't clearly answer this either way.

Anyone dealt with this directly or gotten a straight answer from Centrelink?

Currently I am on Jobseeker and my course starts in 2 weeks, I know I should have applied 13 weeks before the course starts for Austudy, but it took ages to process my course application and to get an offer. My questions is am I going to get a debt because the jobseeker rate is higher then the Austudy rate?
