I’ve been working on an alternative for people who enjoy character roleplay but want the experience to feel more like an ongoing story than an endless sequence of messages.

TalePath supports open-ended conversations with characters, but its main difference is the quest layer. Quests give the story direction: you make choices, see how the party reacts, and continue through a structured adventure. Characters are also shaped by archetypes and relationships, so the same situation can feel different depending on who is involved.

The screenshots show the quest flow: the available choices followed by the characters’ reactions. I’m aiming for something that keeps the freedom of chat while adding the momentum and sense of progression you get from an RPG or interactive story.

It’s still early, and it doesn’t have the enormous character library of established platforms. The trade-off is that the focus is on original adventures, party dynamics, and stories that actually move forward.

It's important to understand that the character carries the memory of the quest in the chat and the memories of the open chat in the quest, so if you want a character to do something specific during a quest even though you know their inner compass would most likely refuse you can try to convince them in a chat.

Hello everyone! My name is Emmelie Victor and I am currently studying Health data and Digitalisation.

I am in the process of writing my bachelors degree about AI usage in young adults (18 to 30) and would be over the moon if you could participate! I try to figure out what positive and negative the usage of AI has on the psyche and I thought reddit was one of the best places to publish my survey! But since most subreddits do not allow surveys I am slightly stumped on participants that do use AI as social partners.

My study is about mental health and AI, if you do not want to participate because of that reason it is totally understandable <3
But it would help immensly if people that are actually happy with their ai usage or those that use it despite knowing others might judge them participate!
