First-timer
Attending the upcoming home match against Queens Park and had some questions about match day-
- Best pubs or bars nearby to prefunk the match?
- Any must visit stores to purchase club gear? Or must see local landmarks?
- Best way to get to the stadium from Kensington/West London? Happy to just roll with the tube-bus route that Maps tells me, but figured it’s worth an ask.
- Any other match day pro tips?
Stoked to support! Up the Addicks!

Agree with the other suggestions re places to get a pint
If you aren't in a rush on the day you could always get the thames clipper down the river from west London to Greenwich Pier. I used to do it home from work sometimes and its a pretty nice way to negotiate the city, generally without delays, albeit might cost a bit more.
Then you could have a stroll around Maritime Greenwich (which is pretty nice) and then get the 177 to Charlton Lane or Woolwich Road for the pubs. Just an idea! Enjoy the game. COYA

You’re gonna earn me some serious brownie points with my wife for this kind of idea. We love a leisurely stroll. Thanks!

Blackheath, lots of lovely pubs and a beautiful setting. O'Neils is a "Charlton Pub" but you would be welcome in any of them. And only 1 stop on the train to the ground

I really liked the chicken and mushroom pie at the valley. It’s one of the best pies I have ever had!

QPR are only referred to as QPR btw :)
Royal Oak is a good laugh.
There is a club shop that you’ll walk past right outside the stadium. Not very big or fancy but does the job, and all 3 kits are out
The most direct route would be the circle line to Hammersmith and get off at Cannon Street, and then a southeastern directly from Cannon Street to Charlton. When you get off here you’ll be walking through the town of Charlton with all the other fans, so just follow the crowd!

Royal Oak or Rose of Denmark for pre match pints. Can get busy though.
