Code 71 and cluster shuts off

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve got a 2014 Sonic. It’s been displaying code 71 on the odometer, and when I click anything to interact with that code, my cluster just goes black. It started after I disconnected my battery, and when I reconnected it to move my car, it was just there. I’ve disconnected the battery several times already to try and reset it, and nothing has changed. Also, nothing shows up on my OBD scanner.

From my research, code 71 is gm's code for service rear axle.

These cars do not have rear axles since they are front wheel drive.

This is from a forum I found, "Because the Sonic is front wheel drive and lacks complex suspension networks, phantom codes like 71 sometimes pop up if the battery voltage drops or a module experiences a brief communication timeout."

With that said, how old is the battery, and is it fully charged?

Any other issues you're experiencing?

Try disconnecting the negative cable and reconnecting it after 15-30 minutes or so.

I’m not sure how old the battery is, so probably old. I did get a low-volt read yesterday at one point, so I’ll check my battery. My only other issue is my TPS has just been giving random low pressures.
