What are the latest updates regarding the existence of the Xia dynasty?

I don't know how to navigate the Chinese webspace and I can't read Chinese so I'm asking for those who are well-versed in Chinese academics and Chinese historiography what their thoughts are.

What's the modern consensus among Chinese academics/historians regarding the Xia dynasty?

Are there any updates beyond the Erlitou site that supports the existence of the Xia?

Chinese Students in Japan

In 1896, China sent students to Japan to learn after losing the Sino-Japanese War. Figures like Sun Yat-sen used this network of students to organize revolutionary societies, shaping the 1911 Xinhai Revolution. However, I'm curious if anyone knows any details of what actually happened within Japan, the social/political details of the Chinese students' interactions with the Japanese, and what the immediate and long-term impacts were from these students. Also, how relevant is this situation to current affairs?

Currently trying to do an essay on this, and I would love to be enlightened by y'all.

Rule 5: Please communicate in English. While we appreciate that this is a forum for Chinese history, it is hosted on an Anglophone site and discussions ought to be accessible to the typical reader. Users may post text in other languages but these should be accompanied by translation. Proper nouns and technical terms without a good direct translation should be Romanised.

Rule 6: No AI usage. We adopt a zero-tolerance approach to the use of generative AI. An exception is made solely for translating text of one’s own original production, and we request that the use of such AI for translation be openly disclosed.
