I talked about this in the Thayic Stronghold Guide, so here's a video that shows how effective it is, especially if you replace the walls as they break. The reason why they retreated at the end is due to them being in an out of bounds zone.

Try a wider stance, it will allow thou to handle a weapon with even greater girth!
