Hey! I don’t need money for food, water, or shelter, I need it to buy my kid a Switch!

Not entirely sure if this would apply to this group or not but this feels like a choosing beggar kind of thing.
Asking people to pay to make a post is wild.
UPDATE: People have been asking for comments or updates to this post, well I can't find the group anymore so I'm guessing it got removed or became private. Some of the comments on the post were saying they didn't need to be part of the group anyway and good luck with charging for posts. Also this atrocious font is not mine that was the original OP for the post.

Some of the stuff that people post here is legitimately unhinged. But lately, I've seen folks mock people for simply asking for stuff. I've also read some downright hostile stuff about parents asking for things for their kids-- a lot of "don't have kids if you can't take care of them."
Listen, at least in the US, not everyone has access to reproductive health care. Not every pregnancy is a planned one. And even for families who carefully planned their kids and limited their family size to what they can afford, it's possible to fall on hard times.
I also think that if we value community and human connections, we should be okay with folks asking each other for stuff. Mutual aid is an underrated community resource. Have some compassion and help your neighbors out.

A certain influencer from sg, with almost 45k followers on ig whom my old coworker referred to me sent me this message after I turned down their offer of 10 usd per shorts vid and 3-6 vids per week 💀
I am a mid-senior level editor already and I initially offered them 25 usd per short, 2-4 vids per week as a 3-month retainer for trial and see where we go from there. This isn't even my actual rates bc I lowered it waaaay down already (i wanted to help them get back on their feet) as they said they weren't generating money from their account since they went on a 6-month hiatus lol🪦
Had they mentioned from the get go that my portfolio didn't fit their brand, conversation was already done. Oh well lol

On a local city’s Reddit page. It starts out somewhat pitiful and slightly endearing, then it took a hard left in her responses to thoughtful and helpful responses. She removed the post at image 11.
OOP is highlighted.

Also included a photo of the "overpriced used junk". After paying for the piece and all the products, I am making $11 an hour for my time spent. I know there are mixed opinions on painted furniture, but many areas were missing chunks. I promise, I only paint really bad condition pieces lol.

For some context this person regularly begs for money online for food/bills/rent under the guise of “mutual-aid” and is upset that her regular donors prefer to donate money to people irl rather than her online.
