I'm on the hunt for some good, jewel tone incandescent style LEDs for outside.

I know there's a few brands out there, but what's available in Canada is pretty hit or miss.

Tru-Tone: While I'd love these, it looks like they're already sold out (I'm pretty sure I just checked a few weeks ago and they still had the 'coming summer 2026' up, but whatever) - plus, these feel a little cost prohibitive - last I checked, in the $800CAD range.

Ace Hardware: We have an ACE here, but I don't think it carries remotely the same stuff and I've never seen these in stock.

Home Depot: The ones they had / have seem to be OOS forever

Canadian Tire: There was some kind of Noma ones, that now show as being discontinued. They also look kind of meh.

Walmart: They had something similar to Canadian Tire in the past. Very plastic-y and not that nice.

Anything else I'm missing here?

Recently purchased this with from Home Depot. Have not received it yet, but trying to find the best way to make 1 of the 9 reindeer (Rudolph) have a red nose. Anyone have any light ideas? Was hoping to use a zip tie or double sided tape. Don’t want to drill into it if I don’t have to.

Bought this inflatable last year (picture from the site, not my yard). My daughter loved it... but it was nearly impossible to get tied in a way that it would deflate amd reinflate without some issue, especially being 10ft long

1. there are no secure loops on the bottom. The base would constantly want to slide

2. there are only on the ladder portion (halfway up) and i think halfway down the slide.

3. I'm addition to the base sliding and the entire thing tipping, the tree is only attached at the very bottom. many times it would fall under the slide and get stuck

I've never had so much problem getting an inflatable secured to turn on and off. I eventually resorted to 4 6ft green metal garden stakes, two on each side, to almost wedge it in, as well as clear tape to block the tree. Looked terrible, but freezing temps, late into the season, and being a 1.5 months out from a major back surgery....its what I had.

Ideas? Tips or Tricks? anything appreciated.

I’m talking about the displays where the whole yard is covered in lights with basically a glowing carpet across all the grass (like in the picture I attached, not my own picture). It looks amazing, and I’d love to try something like it because it makes the whole yard feel so full and bright. I’m just confused about how people actually manage it once everything is down.

A few things I’m wondering:

- How do you walk across the lawn? If lights cover every inch, aren’t you stepping on wires constantly?
- How do you reach decorations in the middle of the yard if something needs fixing or adjusting?
- What happens if a strand goes out? How do you get to it when the whole area is covered?
- How do you put stakes in the ground for other decorations? Do you stake everything first and then lay the lights, or is there some trick to it?
- Do people leave hidden paths or access points?
- Is the lawn usually divided into sections you can lift or move when you need to get underneath?

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s done big Christmas displays and has experience covering a whole lawn. I’m especially curious how you deal with maintenance once everything is installed.

Anyone else already getting excited for the festive season?

I'm looking to install Enbrigten or Govee permanent lights, but have a few questions.

• Should I just do the front of the house?
• How do I deal with the parts of the house with no soffit?
• How would I deal with the dormers?
• Are there Y splitters available? That way I can go both directions from an outlet.

I can solder, can run through the attic, and will likely add an outlet or two in the soffit to make the install clean.

If I decide to put up regular box store lights up again this year(I know they suck but I got a lot going on this summer and money is a bit tight) I would like to use a good clip,

I have been using these(pic) plastic Noma light clips that slide under shingles and clip onto eves, they are garbage, they are not UV resistant, they become brittle after the first year. I have to change them almost every year(I like to keep the lights up all year, if I can) are they any “universal” light clips out there that are good and UV resistant. Thoughts please!

I saw something like this at a zoo event about 5 years ago. Multiple thin rods of slightly flexible lights stuck in the ground near ornamental grass. It looked really good and I want to try something similar this year. I just don't know how.

Hello everyone. I am looking to get a head start on our Christmas lighting game plan this year. November 1st is when we put up the tree so want to get eve ready prior to then outside. We already have the front of the house dialed in and are planning to install permanent lighting on a few of the main front trees. The back, however, is definitely lacking. I am planning to wrap the blue spruce facing the backyard so it functions as a centerpiece Christmas tree, but I would love some input on what to do inside the gate. I am thinking about decorating the two Green Giants with lights, but should I stop at the trees or also line the exterior house and roofline? If I do line the house, what bulbs would you suggest? I want to avoid those harsh, cold daylight-white LEDs. I prefer vintage-style colored lights or that warm, soft yellow glow. Any ideas or recommendations would be appreciated.

We saw in Germany last Christmas, all these single color strands of Christmas lights, but they had really bright white flashing lights integrated into the strand. We can’t find those in the United States, we don’t even know what they’re called. Does anybody know if these are available in the United States and what the style is called specifically?

Last year I bought the coloured LEDs on the right hoping they'd give me that 90's feel when strung up in the tree. It was however waaaay too bright and shone like the sun.

Since then I've been on the hunt for warmer LEDs/lights. I quickly found Vintaglo but I live in Europe which would require me to buy a converter etc. Hence, the quest continued.

I recently stumbled across Hellum (German manufactorer) who, just like the older incandescent bulbs, actually pants the bulb instead of using a coloured LED. I bought a pair (the ones on the left) and it does look warmer then the LEDs from last year.

What are y'alls opinion? Will they give me the 90's feel when strung up in a tree?

Hi all, any recommendations on the best incandescent style LED lights (multicolour) available in the UK or EU? I just can't seem to find any multicolour LED fairy lights that come close toy very old incandescents from the late 90's in terms of brightness and colour. (too bright, too vivid).

I’m going to be using Tru-Tone C7 Jeweltone bulbs on my tree this year, and I’m considering mixing in some of their Candleglow clear translucent C7s as well. A) I’m wondering if that seems like a good idea in general, and B) if so, what proportion of each to use. Is it nicer to go mostly Jeweltone with occasional clear, mostly clear with with occasional Jeweltone, or an even mix?
