The move to 30”

When i bought my sub-gauge barrels my .410 barrel was 30”. Everything else was 32”. I really liked it. So when I got my fbx i ended up with a 30” and I love how it swings. Has any other sporting clay shooters here moved to 30”?

I feel like its all dependent on the gun. Barrel length isn't about the length of the rib or pointability. Its about weight distributions across larger or smaller area depending on balance point and how that weight swings in the hands. Some guns feel better as 30" others better as 32s 34s or even 28s depending on shooter preferences and proportions. For instance for me. I really like my new 686 onyx as a 32" but I feel like a 688 in a 30" is perfect and I shot a dudes 28" 825 and really liked that. Thats why we get options

I have MX8 bunker with 30s and I tried to love it but I don't. It's a safe queen now.

My 694 is a 30" and all my others including an F3 are 32". I dont really notice a difference but the 30" definitely fit me like a glove and I shoot it just as well.

I want a gun with 34” fixed chokes. I thing CG offers those options.

CG makes a invictus 1 “m-spec” with a 34 inch

Mod bottom and IM on top.

Retails for 10k or soo

Unreal gun

Second the mspec. The specialist is another 34”gun that moves insanely well.

I had a k80 parcour with fixed 34s. I thought I would love the fixed barrels but found myself wanting to go back to screen in chokes. It definitely hit targets hard though, great pattern.

I used to shoot an mx2000s with 29.5” and extended chokes and that’s been my favorite. I don’t shoot much anymore but I think 30” is the perfect length. I’m using a 34” bt99 when I shoot trap on occasion and it just feels a little too long.

I wanted a 30” but all the left hand guns I could find to try were 32” so I have a 32

Did you find one gun more comfortable than the other in regards to grip/palm swell size?

The palm swell on the FBX and the slight difference in length of pull make it much more comfortable. The larger front grip as well.

I shoot a 30 inch with extended chokes and love it. I also hit similar targets with a short barrel shotgun too, so I’m a mongoloid and my opinion is moot. I do love how my beretta points and swings though compared to my previous 32 inch OU.

My first F3 had 32” barrels in 28, 20, and 12

Yeah. Dt11 is 30 inch. The 32 inch was just too nose heavy for me. I love it.

I'm looking to trade my 30" 694 DLC for a 32"
