Community Update [COMMUNITY UPDATE] Images + Security + Allowed Content
Hello - In an effort to forge a better community we are making a few adjustments to the allowable content and posting rules. The changes are listed below, and are effective immediately:
CONTENT
- Articles that report positive news about climate action will be allowed. The article MUST DISCUSS something that has happened, e.g.:
- Increased solar installations, new nuclear plant performance numbers, results of forest planting initiatives, etc.
- We will evaluate how this changes the content that gets posted as well as engagement. We will adjust as needed to keep the subreddit on message.
- Comments will now allow the posting of images.
MODERATION
- Crowd control has been enabled to help fend off a rise in troll and bot-like behavior. This affects both Posts and Comments.
If you have any other feedback or suggestions for changes to help improve the sub and keep this a good place to discuss Climate Action, please message the mods. Thank you!

Emissions Reduction Traveling During this Unprecedented Time
Looking for your personal opinions!
I love traveling, I’m a huge language nerd, and have always dreamed of living in many countries/places.
At the same time I am also a climate activist. I change my behaviors and decisions as I can to be more in line with a future of life— where human activities are aligned with the needs of the earth as she sustains us. I want change, as it will be required of us.
What are people’s personal feelings about air travel in this time? I’m aware of boycotting fossil fuels, but how to have movement without them is a question I have and is not yet an accessible reality.
Is it an individuals responsibility to not get on a plane for pleasure or do you think are there many ways be an activist? Genuinely asking. No wrong answers!

Carbon Neutral Joining the COP31 Bike Ride to enhance the importance of bicycle at COP31
For the third year, the COP Bike Ride aims to show the importance of cycling to meet national commitments regarding the reduction of carbon emissions. Launched in 2024, the first COP Bike Ride connected Paris—a highly symbolic location for climate conferences—to Baku, the host city of COP29 - the annual official climate conference.
This is a relay - meaning each participant can freely ride the amount of days s/he wants and can. A banner is passed from hand to hand, and finally given, with the commitments of local authorities, such as mayors, to the president of the conference. Only a quarter of NDCs mention walking and cycling, which represent, especially cycling, a major potential for reducing carbon emissions, and for health as well. Transportation is also one of the main contributors to greenhouse gas emissions.
In 2025 an even more ambitious relay was organized for COP30 from Azerbaijan to Brazil by bicycle and sailboat, involving over 1,000 cyclists across twenty countries. I modestly participated that year from Paris to Tours (France).
This year (2026), several routes will converge to Antalya (Turkey), were COP31 is to be held early November. I followed route 5, along the Seine and then Burgundy and the Rhone to Dijon. Route 5 then continues to Lyon, across the Alps, Aiming at Rumania and then Turkey, down to Antalya, were COP31 is to be held early November. We met on the road from Melun to Dijon several enthusiastic mayors and the heirs of the nice Oigny Abbaye.
The global atmosphere between participants is friendly, cosmopolitan, joyful. A Dutch participant is linking London to Bucarest with his drums in a cart, offering musicians to join him at stops. We usually pick-nick for lunch, and started organizing shared lunches or dinners. We stop at camping sites. Participation is free and autonomous. Every one travels with his and her own gear. We wait and take care for minor incidents on the roads. It is a great experience, and you are invited to join us on the road!
Visit more information on https://copbikeride.org/cop31 and learn how to join us further on the way. There still is plenty of time, depending were you are based.
