Wdym El Classico is back, where did it go?

Am I delusional or was "El classico" OpTic vs Envy before? When was it used with Faze or correlated with instead? I thought H3cz coined the phrase because he was playing a team with another Hispanic owner in Hastro.

Casters have definitely been calling faze optic el Classico recently but you’re 100% envy vs optic was the original and Im pretty sure it was called “E Classico” back then

For cod it’s always been optic vs envy. Same way in league el Classico used to be Fnatic vs SK Gaming but when SK fell off people repurposed it to refer to Fnatic vs G2

It was actually "e clasico" as a play on "el clasico", which is a massive soccer rivalry between Real Madrid and Barca. And it was OpTic-nV, but now it's been co-opted for FaZe-OpTic.

Honestly i thought they used El classico for faze and optic because they are the 2 teams that hold a name from old. I thought it was just a fancy way of saying "the classic" or "historic" match.

I’ve always wanted to see how pro teams would play with zero GAs, like you play the same game as the pubs. What would be the most effective meta? Would there even be a meta because every player has something they know how to use better than everyone else? What killstreaks do you run? All that jazz. Would be killer content.

TB to competitive xbox 360 MW3 LMG sentry gun domination matches. Oh it was a sight to see.

Played all weekend and got pretty comfortable with the movement and overall pacing. I’m still having some issues with strafing personally (sniper) but overall I’m really excited for this game.

Went back to BO7 afterward and, while the omni movement is definitely fun, I’m glad we’re getting a change of pace. Funny enough, BO7 actually felt slow unless I was constantly sliding around everywhere. I think the change in movement is going to be refreshing.

Yea i enjoyed the beta (open beta after ttk was adjusted). Ive literally only ever raged at betas, and was fine in this one lol

u/ChewySlinky OpTic Texas 1d ago

I’m glad I’m not the only one. Maybe it’s because I regularly go back and play old CODs but the movement felt totally fine to me. It’s really just up to maps at this point and I didn’t think the maps were completely god awful. They weren’t great but I already feel better about them than I did BO6 (which isn’t saying much tbf).

Bro I went back to bo7 and I was flying, probably because of the perks and I play sub also but it is way way faster. I prefer Mw4 movement though personally.

All teams seem competitive🤔 Only team we know for certain right now is OpTic

I think SnD will be fun to play, and respawns will be utter dogshit for ranked. Maps are kind of so-so, and the beta is bound to have 1 or 2 competitive maps if the previous betas are any indication. Gunny and movement isn’t all that expressive, so the team with the best system wins most of the time. I really wonder what the ARs and SMGs are going to be though. No way they let the M4 and ISO Nightshade rock.

Snd is fun to play on the game and rooftops will probably get used

1

u/Sincerely-Internet Ghosts 1d ago

Yeah Rooftop SnD seems like a guarantee unless the maps on Launch kick-ass

Han and ISO

1

u/YNWA_1213 COD Competitive fan 1d ago

I think XMR/ISO. Both kinds mirror each other, while balanced towards their respective roles.

1

u/KrispyyKarma COD Competitive fan 1d ago

It'll be the Han and Iso most likely. After the Iso nerf it doesn't nearly as crazy and the Han is just a consistent all around average AR. M4 will be relegated to the shadow realm and the other subs are either trash or have bs like integrated supressor.

1

u/yaboyydano COD Competitive fan 1d ago

M4 will be viable if they force the red dot. Hopefully thw subs can use he 74U that felt great as a sub

1

u/BLINKERGOD OpTic Texas 1d ago

Feels like the M4 gonna be the main AR and the Sub probably the 74u unless it's the ISO.

This game is so trash I can’t believe we have to bare another MW game

u/Least-Grade7329 COD Competitive fan 1d ago

tbf, mw3 was a great game relative to some of the recent Cod's. I actually enjoyed playing it and the maps were good.

u/Local_Band299 Florida Mutineers 18h ago

Activision just needs to gut IW and have Sledgehammer and Treyarch be the two alternating devs.

I hated the WW2 setting for Vanguard, but IMO that was still fun to play.

MW3 was the perfect new MW game. Good MP, Campaign was unique, Warzone was perfect, MW Zombies was fun.

But MW2 and MW4 are just fucking atrocious to play. I think the steam build for the MW4 beta was broken because I'm getting bad controller input lag.

Anyone wanna run some games, used to be pretty good at sniping back in the day, played with grizz for 2 years during cod4-waw era , had a life to live now I can get back to gaming , dm if you wanna play

“AR seems fun again” and it’s absolutely broken relative to its counterpart, after only dealing with 3-4 months of the AR not being the clear cut better option

All pros this year have chips on their shoulders

Is JoeD borrowing one of Shotzzy's chips or something so he can put one on his shoulder as well?

If Friendship League is gone then Mohawk should be on a team for winning 2 challengers world finals and Parasite will be a coach now.

u/robeleye COD League 1d ago

Hot take: This is a great game after the recent changes. Devs have never been this responsive thanks to gta. It will be one of the best cods in recent years bc of that

Still get 2 shot by many guns (at least it feels like it) so ttk is still too fast, and there are still too many tiny maps. 1 of those max per game. Shipment, rust, and nuketown were only cool because they were the only ones, and we had plenty of regular maps.

-2

u/robeleye COD League 1d ago

Some guns are stronger than others and they still need to optimize multipliers since they just made the ttk switch within days. Ttk isnt too fast, mwII and mw2019 was too fast. It is actually good how it is. And it’s a beta, you are not going to play every map with the whole point being testing the game not expose you to large maps where you would then complain of getting no action

3

u/scraftii New York Subliners 1d ago

Guns being stronger than others isn’t really an excuse. The ideal baseline ttk should be driven by the best guns, not average. Pubs are going to always be ran by people running the best stuff, making the game much less enjoyable in a casual environment.

Headshots feel crazy to me in this, but I’m not sure if that’s actually the case. But that is somewhat a good thing, I guess.
