Thank You for the Birthday Love. Now, Welcome to Coherence Physics.

First, thank you for all the birthday love yesterday. The messages, support, book purchases, and kind words genuinely meant a lot to me. This community has grown far beyond anything I expected, and I am grateful for the strange, brilliant, funny, thoughtful group of people gathering here.

Since we have so many new members, it is time for a quick reminder about what this place is and what it is not.

Coherence Physics is not an anti-religion subreddit. You are welcome to criticize churches, doctrines, religious institutions, hypocrisy, abuse, and political Christianity. I do that myself. But I do not care where the church touched you or how badly someone hurt you, that does not give you permission to treat every form of faith, spirituality, or religious thought as stupidity. Not all spirituality is ignorance. Not every believer is your enemy. If your entire contribution is sneering at religious people, take it somewhere else.

Criticism of the Israeli government is allowed. Criticism of war, occupation, nationalism, settlements, political leaders, and state violence is allowed. Antisemitism is not. If your post or comment turns criticism of a government into hostility toward Jewish people, conspiracy theories about Jews, or language that treats an entire people as collectively guilty, you will be blocked. There will not be a long courtroom drama about it.

Also, everyone needs to do better about how we speak to one another. Disagreement is welcome. Cruelty is not intelligence. Being condescending does not make you the smartest person in the room. If someone is mistaken, challenge the idea without trying to humiliate the person. We are supposed to be exploring difficult questions here, and that becomes impossible when every conversation turns into a contest to see who can be the biggest asshole.

Politics is welcome, especially when it connects to power, systems, persistence, collapse, propaganda, inequality, religion, technology, or human behavior. I also post political memes because sometimes the absurdity deserves to be laughed at. But if you are going to post politics here, bring some style. Bring an argument, an image, an unusual connection, a sharp joke, or a perspective people have not already seen five hundred times. Do not turn this place into another generic political dumping ground.

I also want more than politics. Bring me physics, philosophy, theology, biology, psychology, poetry, visual art, music, strange history, speculative fiction, and ideas that are difficult to categorize. The subject can be almost anything, but it should feel like it belongs here. It should connect somehow to coherence, transformation, identity, persistence, emergence, meaning, contradiction, or the forces that hold things together and pull them apart.

Finally, please do not take it personally if I remove your post. Moderating a community means shaping its atmosphere. Sometimes a post may be perfectly acceptable on Reddit and still not fit the character of this particular place. Removal is not always a moral judgment, censorship campaign, or declaration of war. Sometimes it simply does not fit the room.

This community works best when it remains curious, creative, difficult to categorize, and slightly strange. That is the atmosphere I am protecting.

Welcome to Coherence Physics. Bring your best ideas. Bring your disagreements. Bring your weirdness. Just bring them with some thought, some humanity, and a little damn style.

Welcome to Coherence Physics: My Strange Laboratory of Ideas

I’m Skylar Fiction, a special needs teacher, writer, independent researcher, and the person behind Coherence Physics.

The easiest way to understand this place is to think of it as my public laboratory for ideas.

I am fascinated by a question that seems to follow everything from atoms to minds to civilizations: how does anything remain itself in a universe where everything is constantly changing?

That question has taken me through physics, mathematics, biology, cognition, artificial intelligence, philosophy, religion, history, politics, education, and the study of human systems. Coherence Physics is where I bring those worlds together, test ideas, write papers, build diagrams, run experiments, argue with people, change my mind, and translate complicated ideas into something ordinary people can explore.

Not everything posted here is meant to be a finished theory. Sometimes you are watching the laboratory while the experiment is still running.

My larger goal is also deeply practical. I work with children with special needs, and I eventually want to build a small school and employment program for children and adults who need environments designed around how they actually learn, create, communicate, and live.

So if you enjoy Coherence Physics and want to support what I am building, one of the simplest ways is to buy one of my books. You get something I spent a ridiculous amount of time creating, and the money helps me keep researching, writing, teaching, creating, and moving the larger mission forward.

My Books

The Architecture of Coherence

The best starting point for the science side of this project. It explores why patterns persist, how systems recover from disturbance, and whether the same structural ideas can connect matter, life, mind, and civilization.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GS8YCKM3

The Philosophy of Coherence

The human side of the framework. This book explores identity, relationships, institutions, societies, collapse, recovery, and what it means for a system to remain itself while changing.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H1KBT478

Genesis: Reading the Bible Without Fear

A historically informed journey through Genesis that looks at its ancient context, literary layers, Hebrew traditions, creation stories, violence, family, exile, and what these texts were trying to say before modern theology got hold of them.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GDG87WPH

The Coherence of God: A Theology of the Entangled Logos

My attempt to bring theology and coherence together, exploring a Christian pantheist vision of God as something intimately present within reality rather than a distant ruler standing outside it.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FYPXPYG1

The Distance Between Jesus and Christianity

An investigation into the difference between the teachings of Jesus and the religious system that eventually developed in his name, including the enormous role history, Paul, doctrine, and institutions played in that transformation.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GHLLC6T2

Revelation Without the End of the World

A reading of Revelation without rapture charts or modern apocalypse predictions. It places the book back inside the world of empire, persecution, resistance, symbolism, endurance, and hope that produced it.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GHLNKKCB

The Autism Bible

Written from my experience teaching children with special needs, this book explores autism through science, development, education, environment, and neurodiversity while asking a more important question: what if the world needs to become better at making room for different kinds of minds?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H3WSLTGL

101 Ways to Die Without Dying

Stories about all the strange ways a human being can lose pieces of themselves without physically dying. Grief, shame, memory, absurdity, survival, failure, and the wreckage involved in remaining alive.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H2SS5CTG

DIG

A dark Appalachian novel about buried truth, trauma, guilt, faith, survival, and what happens when people finally start digging into the things a community has spent years trying to keep underground.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H3LTRMSG

MONSTERS

A dark literary horror novel about grief, childhood wounds, violence, family, death, small-town rot, and the uncomfortable possibility that monsters are rarely as simple as we want them to be.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H4HBPPQ9

The Last Door to Philadelphia

A dark science fiction novel about grief, artificial intelligence, death, strange worlds, corporate power, memory, and an impossible doorway that turns one ordinary man’s life into something much larger and much stranger.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H7NR94JH

This Is the Lab

You do not have to buy anything to belong here.

Read the essays. Challenge the ideas. Tell me when the mathematics is wrong. Bring me a paper I have never seen. Argue about religion. Laugh at the memes. Look at the diagrams. Ask uncomfortable questions.

That is what Coherence Physics is supposed to be.

The community is the laboratory. The books are some of the things that have come out of it. And we are nowhere near finished.

Welcome to Coherence Physics.

Lake Ontario is named as such in the Treaty of Canandaigua, signed by President George Washington and ratified by Congress in 1795. An executive order can’t override it.

New Rule: Attack Power, Not Each Other

I am implementing a new rule for this community. Political ideas, policies, parties, and politicians are all fair game. Treating ordinary people as enemies because they are liberal, conservative, left-wing, or MAGA is not.

I have been guilty of this myself, especially when mocking MAGA voters instead of confronting the politicians and ideas causing harm. I helped create the tone I now want to change, so this rule begins with me.

Mocking politicians and exposing corruption will remain part of this community. What needs to stop is the blanket hatred of entire groups of people. Calling everyone on the left stupid will not change anyone. Calling every Trump voter evil will not heal anything. That kind of contempt only pushes people deeper into their camps.

We can criticize a belief without dehumanizing the person who holds it. We can fight cruelty, corruption, authoritarianism, and greed without becoming cruel ourselves. Posts and comments whose only purpose is to insult ordinary people because of their political identity will be removed.

I care more about bringing people together than providing another home for toxic political warfare. If we want the country to heal, somebody has to stop feeding the hatred. I am choosing to start here.

When the Police Cannot Stop the Camera, They Go After the Paycheck

On August 31, YouTube suddenly demonetized a large number of First Amendment auditing channels. Long Island Audit, Bay Area Transparency, San Joaquin Valley Transparency, Delete LawZ Clips, Liberty Troll, Odd Man Audits, and others reportedly received nearly identical notices at approximately the same time. YouTube cited its vague “Creator Responsibility” policy, but apparently did not identify the videos or incidents that triggered the punishment.

That does not look like a series of unrelated decisions. It looks like a coordinated sweep.

The unanswered question is who pushed YouTube to conduct it. We do not yet have a document proving that a police union, law enforcement organization, or government official demanded these demonetizations. We should be honest about that. Suspicion is not proof. But the circumstances are serious enough that they cannot simply be dismissed as another routine platform decision.

Police organizations have been complaining about First Amendment auditors for years. Recently, Suffolk County Police Benevolent Association President Lou Civello went further. He publicly attacked auditors as frauds and con artists, criticized YouTube for allowing them to earn money, called for tougher laws, and argued that the companies supporting this content needed to be stopped.

Then many of the channels he was complaining about lost their income on the same day.

Perhaps that is a coincidence. Perhaps YouTube independently decided that this entire category of citizen journalism had become too dangerous for advertisers. But when a powerful police union publicly demands that a platform cut off a movement’s financial support, and the platform then cuts off that support, the public has every right to ask whether pressure was applied behind closed doors.

This is especially concerning because the Suffolk County District Attorney reportedly subpoenaed Google for subscriber and financial information connected to the Long Island Audit channel shortly before the demonetization. Civello and other police union officials also attended a national police conference where Todd Blanche, then deputy attorney general and now attorney general, delivered the keynote address.

None of those facts alone proves coordination. Together, however, they describe a relationship between police power, government authority, and the corporation controlling the economic survival of the people recording them. That relationship deserves investigation.

The apparent strategy is frighteningly effective. The government does not have to arrest every person holding a camera. It does not have to pass a law making criticism of police illegal. It does not even have to remove the videos. It only has to make the work financially impossible.

Travel costs money. Cameras cost money. Attorneys, court records, public-records requests, transcripts, and lawsuits cost money. When YouTube removes monetization from a channel, it does more than take away a creator’s paycheck. It removes resources from the investigations, legal challenges, and public-records work that make police accountability possible.

That is what makes this different from an ordinary argument about content moderation. These channels frequently document public employees exercising government power. Their videos have captured illegal arrests, unconstitutional searches, unlawful demands for identification, interference with recording, and public officials who do not understand the rights they are sworn to respect.

Not every First Amendment auditor behaves responsibly. Some deliberately antagonize private citizens. Some have escalated encounters into pepper-spray incidents, threats, trespassing, and violence. YouTube has every right to examine those cases individually. A person does not become immune from consequences merely by pointing a camera at someone and calling it journalism.

But that is precisely why individual explanations matter.

If a channel encouraged violence, identify the video. If a creator organized harassment, show the evidence. If someone published private information or directed an audience to threaten a person, say so plainly. A platform as powerful as YouTube should not be able to destroy the income of an entire group of independent journalists by citing a policy broad enough to mean almost anything.

A sweeping punishment also erases the difference between a peaceful auditor exposing misconduct and a provocateur manufacturing confrontation for views. It treats the entire practice of recording government as a single dangerous category. That should concern everyone, including people who dislike auditors or disagree with their methods.

The First Amendment normally restricts government, not private corporations. YouTube can decide what it wants to monetize. But that legal distinction changes if government officials used their authority to pressure a private platform into punishing protected speech. The Supreme Court has made clear that officials may express their opinions, but they may not use government power to coerce private companies into suppressing people the government cannot silence directly.

That is why public-records requests must now be filed with Suffolk County, the police union, the district attorney’s office, and relevant federal agencies. We need communications concerning First Amendment auditors, Long Island Audit, Google, YouTube, monetization, advertising, and the Creator Responsibility policy. Google should also disclose whether law enforcement organizations submitted formal complaints or participated in discussions about this enforcement action.

Until those records are produced, I will not pretend that police involvement has been conclusively proven. But I also refuse to pretend that the timing means nothing.

A police union leader publicly attacked the financial infrastructure supporting police accountability. Law enforcement sought information from Google about one of the largest auditing channels. Multiple channels were then demonetized simultaneously under the same vague policy. Those facts create a legitimate appearance of coordinated pressure.

If YouTube reached this decision independently, it should explain its reasoning. If individual creators violated specific rules, YouTube should identify those violations. If police unions or government agencies communicated with the company, the public deserves to know exactly what was said.

Cameras have changed the balance of power between citizens and police. For generations, an officer’s version of an encounter could become the official truth simply because no competing record existed. Citizen video changed that. It gave ordinary people the ability to preserve what happened before institutions could rewrite it.

Now the struggle may be moving from control of the camera to control of the money behind it.

When police cannot legally stop people from recording, the next temptation is to make recording too expensive to continue. When officials cannot constitutionally silence their critics, the next temptation is to persuade a corporation to do it for them.

That possibility is no longer abstract. It is sitting in the inboxes of dozens of people whose cameras were pointed at power.

The cameras are still rolling. Now they need to be pointed at Google, the police unions, and every government office that may have helped make this happen.
