My inner child is so happy for my outer adult money

I collect voice recorders because I love the idea of preserving moments through sound. A photo can capture how someone looked, but a recording can capture their voice, laugh, and personality. I also love wondering about the stories behind old recorders and the memories they may have once held

Finished asembling a narrow bookshelf insert but finding a practical spot for it is weirder than I expected. If I push it flush with standard paperbacks you can barely see into the front opening. If it sticks out then it looks awkward. Plus the battery pack is tucked in the back corner. How do you guys actualy display these on standard shelves without constantlly knocking adjacent books over just to turn the light on?

Over 50 years ago, my dad came back from Alaska with this state flower serving tray - and a few matching ashtrays that went with it. Kept my eye on where it was over the decades ... until just last year I decided to look for one for where I'm at now - AZ.

Found lots of these on Etsy. Basically the same design as from decades ago. Only last week did I find a couple of the ash trays that went with the AK one. Added a pic with some classic bourbon bottles ( I don't drink ).

My mom had various collector-style plates on the kitchen walls - nothing fancy - but I only liked the tray my dad brought back. He also brought a chrome totem pole bottle cap opener - looks like the pole with the wings on the tray near the word "Alaska".

My main collection consists of hand-painted toys from the 1990s. I have around 1,000 figurines in total (aprox 70 full kinder sets), but only a small portion of the collection is displayed in this photo.

While i'm working to put things into themed sections, as much as I have room for that kind of thing, I sitll have some fun random shelves. Iteams from Disney Parks, old Simpson toys, World of Warcraft and oh, Godzilla with Ghostbusters.

The Lion King was released in 1994 when I was ten years old and I have always loved the character young Simba. I have a huge collection of memorabilia 1994 and the rerelease in 2002. My collection includes, art, cards, cels, figures, coins, watches, stuffed animals, statues, and Loungefly bags. I'm missing a few extremely rare pieces and always searching. There is a Lion King collector in the UK that holds the Guinness World Record for a Lion King collection. My dream is to have the Guinness World Record for a Young Simba collection. It's much easier to collect one character. I'm so dedicated I have an idea for a young Simba themed car I'd like to have. The only down side I have no way to properly display my collection due to limited space issues. I could put all of the "stock" images in a file and there would be a lot.
