As the title says, is it okay for a woman to go there solo?

Hey guys, any recommendations for bars/pubs around Colombo that are comfortable to go to alone?

Just looking for somewhere I can sit at the bar, have a couple of drinks and maybe casually socialize/meet new people. Prefer somewhere with a mixed crowd and where solo guys can enter without any couple-only or weird entry restrictions.

Not really looking for a hardcore club, more of a chill/social atmosphere.

Any places you guys would recommend, and which days are usually best?

M25 & business owner, don't really have ways to meet new people effectively. Thought of doing random coffee meetups with upto 4 people at once on a weekend.

Trying to expand my social circle & learn how to be part of "ask culture" (aka wheat culture) much better.

If anyones up for a no agenda coffee meetups I'd love to plan one with a bunch of people at a cafe!

Trying something new so hopefully there would be some interested people :)

I have had a very frustrating experience with the Sri Lanka Post Office. They refused to send two phone batteries and a small remote-control racing car to a friend in India. They kept saying that batteries are too dangerous to send.

They then suggested that I find someone travelling to India and ask them to take the items for me. I have visited three different post offices today, and all three refused to accept the package.

What are my options for sending these three items to India, especially the two phone batteries?

We recently visited colombo and went to a restaurant called palmyrah. The food was good and priced reasonably but when the bill arrived we were shocked to see a 32% tax on the bill. In india there is a 10% service charge and that too is optional but when we asked them to remove it they said they can't. Is this normal or did we end up paying the tourist price?
