I'm in Florida. I routinely get matched against Chinese players even on weekend evenings. Is the game really this dead?
Also, not that I have a problem with Chinese people, but they are the worst to play COH 3 with. 0 communication, and they employ low-quality zerg tactics. Everytime I have one on my flank, they collapse instantly and resign to holding an insignificant corner of the map.

First image is my kitbash of the Grenadiers with the Jeager’s M43 field cap and boots with gaiters from the Fallen Leaf Jeager skin then I put it though AI to change the suspenders, ammo pouches and make the uniform grey and look more like wool. I know a lot of people hate on AI but it’s a small but tedious change which I’ve seen other real artists do.
To my main topic - I’d just like something similar to Dawn of War Retribution where the more you play a faction, your units would look different. But instead they are separate skins and not permanent on the default skin. I think it would be very easy since you’d basically do what I did by taking already existing models and swap them around. Relic did post a video while back before the game came out showing and saying that’s basically how gear on models worked. I don’t know how hard it would be to texture though.

Hello question as in topic. What's the current meta for UKF,
and what are the suggested build orders ? I usually start with :
immediate Vickers
Infantry Sections (sniper scope) / mortar
Infantry sections (bren) / mortar
Tier 2 building
Immediate Polsten
AT gun / Stuart
T3 and Matilda. Later whatever I need.
I usually go with Polish BG, but rarely build any of their units lol ;d
Im elo 800

It needs to go up in cost to place, or unlock cost by a touch.
OR
Needs to change in how it works. Preferably to include some micro like it being a timed ability with a cooldown, akin to Dead Drops from Special Forces Battlegroup for UKF.
It's such an easy crutch for teammates to rely on and use the bigger the team game mode.

I want to learn and be at least average in CoH3 but I don't know where to start. I have previously played CoH2 but just the campaign and skirmish against bots as Soviets. I am confused by all the units and the different battlegroups, I dont know what to pick or when and I end up losing even against standard AI.
Does anyone have any good starting build orders or guide for how to pick battlegroups/upgrades? Also any recomendation for videos that help with getting started (not just controls, basic mechanics etc) is welcomed.

Compared to launch, just how much as CoH been improved? I played for the first few months and I remember it being pretty rough. Is it in a much better state now and worth coming back to?

For most mid game vehicles, PaK 40 with the occasional gren snare will suffice in detering vehicles, if not outright killing them. Should something more survivable (i.e. doesnt instantly die to small arms fire or motars) is needed, the Marder is decent enough in dealing with most tanks. For everything else, you have battlegroup Panthers, Tigers, Kingtigers, Sturmtigers, Elefants and whatever else.
Now... what exactly does the Stug do here? It doesn't have the sheer penetration or range of the Marder, while also being significantly more expensive and being pretty much useless against infantry, even with the MG upgrade.
Sure, the frontal armor is nice. But why rely on armor with the StuG 3 if you don't even need to take damage in the first place due to the marders range?
Maybe someone with more knowledge and matchup understanding can say a few things.
In my opinion it should be a slow firing and hard hitting ambush tank. Basically trading higher cost and lower range for higher frontal armor and damage when compared to the marder. This might also solve the wehrmachts lack of a tank that can deal with enemy heavies reliably. Think someone made a post that went into that direction a couple days ago.

Saw the previous post about DLSS5 and figured to investigate myself. There were multiple requests to see the screenshots in higher resolution, how it was done, etc. to no response. In Thanos fashion: "Fine, I'll do it myself"
Here are some screenshots in higher resolution. I'll probably have more time later to test it more, and make a video on it. You can probably figure out which is with it vs ON/OFF
I've tried the benchmark and its at least a 60% reduction in fps. Not quite playable. Running a 5060ti *8gb*, I'd imagine a greater card would be more playable.
*Disclaimer: Essentially, CoH3 does not know how to use DLSS 5 by itself, so I used ReShade and a bridge mod to “pretend” the game has a DLSS-like image path. Then RenoDX hooks into that fake path and applies DLSS 5 Neural Rendering on top. So yes, it is running in-game, but it is more like carefully tricking DLSS 5 into processing the image than the game having real built-in DLSS 5 support.

So let me preface this, I'm aware I made mistakes.
This video encompasses just under half of this 1v1 at x8 speed for brevity. If you want the full replay just tell me how I'm kind of new at this still.
You can see me recover my 2cm Flak and then destroy it because I was trying to get pop for an extra P4, so I'm aware of some of my micro mistakes I watched this back to see those. What I couldn't understand is just how the resource difference between me and this guy was so huge?
I feel like I was doing really good in my micro a lot of the time, for a pretty extensive amount of time I feel like, I controlled the Field and managed to build up a significant amount of resources.
Though I'm fully aware I also lost control of my cut off a few times and it really hurt me, but what I still cannot grasp is just how this guy managed to have 2k spare man power while I was hovering at 600 at my very best while trying to match him in tanks?
I was doing my Siege Breaker build so I'm aware late game when he started spamming out 76's I was probably fucked, but I just for the life of my can't figure out how he managed to so severely just dominate me after what felt like a slog I was winning for so long.

Man this infantry is annoying. I run into all the time at high elo play. They cost 400mp but they destroy everything. They can take on any infantry and win. Even 2 assgrens vs them they still win. They have insane DPS. They have camo, they have healing, they have 6 man and tons of health, can make demo, they have freaking at nade! They butchered gustas for having this kind of utility but allies get it and it’s okay? This unit needs to have some kind of drawback either being a 4 man, lower the dps, lose the at or some kind of utility. It is utterly broken. There is very little counters you can get pios and flares but most likely they will already have died to this unit. It is not fun to play against. Neither is the insane rifle same right now.

I feel like having one of them in your battle group is absolutely needed if the game goes past 25 minutes as the Panzer IV is unreliable with its penetration and the PaK 40 is excellent when the enemy plays into its strength, but the moment there is 1-2 mortars, off maps or a flank they’re worthless.
So how'd you rank:
Tiger
Königstiger
Sturmtiger
Panther
Consider also the time at which they arrive. Of course a Königstiger is stronger than a single panther in a head on confrontation, but the Panther is significantly cheaper and more agile, so consider which tank best augments an army composition that is looking to deal with enemy 76 Shermans, Matildas, Pershings, Churchills and Chars.
Primarily in 1vs1

Bought COH 1 on sale, seeing as I was a fan of dawn of war and wanted to try a new angle. Whenever I join a multiplayer game, the host kicks me. Is this common for players with newer looking statlines?

years ago i saw a mod for company of heroes on youtube it was called ''averge company of heroes experince'' or ''company of heroes expirence'' the video doesnt exist now unfortunately but i remember that it was company of heroes 2 and there was also a map just like close combat series but more modern and if u capture a tank or any other equemint it will be with your soldiers even after the battle is over and u went too another way and u could move armies and conquer provinces

Haven't touched coh3 since release but over the weekend I played some matches and couldn't figure out what to do against US inf / tank blobs ? Is the game just unbalanced right now ?
r/CompanyOfHeroes • u/DonaldDu2 • 1d ago
I hope Relic will have fixed it by the time it's released.

I am able to get all my other factions up to 1300 but with DAK I struggle hard. It's clearly a skill issue , but I am not quite sure what I am missing.
I've tried using the aa halftrack, but find that it's super vulnerable to the AT gun + m8/chaffee combo. At gun + polsten also does surprising well against it too. The 8rad fares better especially in chasing low health units and poking at range.
Although I find that I can tech up to the Pz3 pretty easily, it's gets crushed by the Sherman and struggles to deal with the Matilda. The Tiger is a huge deciding factor, but most of the time I struggle to get up to it.
Against US:
Against Brits:
The last couple of 1v1 game losses have been especially tilting. I've dealt with Stuart spam, pathfinder spam, SSF almost every other game.
Posted replays:
stuart spam game https://coh3stats.com/matches/84339507?profileIDs=%5B379595,3117%5D
Airborne game https://coh3stats.com/matches/84436508?profileIDs=%5B379595,163660%5D (this one really ticked me off, I lost by VPs after trying to survive all game. I finally got my chance after he foolishly dived me and lost both shermans. But a smarter player would have easily won by keeping the shermans in reserve.)
This game I was clearly outclassed. Guy was gold and sat on my cutoff and I could not for the life of me dislodge him. There was tons of green cover, and I am not quite sure how to kick them off. https://coh3stats.com/matches/84435502?profileIDs=%5B379595,1113683%5D
Possible issues I am missing:
Any advice would be appreciated.

Why do they make donuts still? Getting confused with obstacles.
How does relic expect players to utilise DAK early momentum asymmetry when we have to fight against shitty ai?
Why is 4x4 having much lower XP to vet and with much better utility?
