I started reading Joel Park & Ben Stoegers Baseline Dryfire last week. I’m starting to take training more seriously. I just did my first true dryfire training session.
I’ve been shooting for a while, but still suck pretty hard and never really taken it seriously. I started using a par time of 2.5 seconds for draw from an owb holster, getting my red dot on target, while trying to build a good grip. Not worrying about trigger press for this. Just trying to train my natural index. I got down to 1.6sec but started to see a problem arise when I was really pushing speed.
The problem I’ve having is that when I draw, and bring the dot up it’s consistently off to the left. I’m trying to use Hwansik Kim’s grip technique where my support hand index finger is resting on top of my firing hands middle finger first bone in between first and second knuckle.
I don’t think I’m over gripping with support hand because in live fire my recoil control is still pretty shit but idk. Can anyone offer any advice or help for what might be causing my dot to be consistently off to the left, or know of a drill for fixing it?

Looking for belt recommendations. I currently use a double alpha setup with the ratchet, but due having the above mentioned disease, even with the inner belt and the ratchet clamping things down, I spend all match tugging my belt back up.
I thought about trying the Lynx set up, but I’m worried with it never getting truly flat/round it may exaggerate the problem. Any fellow middle aged dad bod folks with no ass have any recommendations?

Putting together my first IDPA rig for a Glock 17 (Gen 6) and want to sanity check before I buy. I've got a Safariland 5198 holster (Glock 17/22/31, RH, STX) in the cart along with two Safariland 74 open-top single mag pouches.
Mainly I'm wondering how people feel about this holster and pouch combo for IDPA. Is the 5198 a solid choice that'll hold up in matches, or would you steer a new shooter toward something else like a Comp-Tac International Balde tech or a DAA rig? Same question on the mag pouches , are the Safariland 74s good to go, or is there something you'd run instead?
Open to any suggestions and thanks in advance

Anybody have the Phantoms that squads with open major PF guys often?
I got a pair and was quite uncomfortable when standing near an open major pf gun at my last match.
Seems to be much better protection from my Peltor 300 with gel cups.
Also, people's voices sound much more tinny than with the audio coming through the 3M headset.
Yes, they are very comfortable, and in the heat they are certainly better because of less sweat. But I just am not willing to compromise on protecting my hearing.
Thinking of returning the Soundgears because they seemingly don't provide close to the protoction of good over ears.
Kinda of bummed about this because I was really excited for these.

Had an all classifier match where I shot 4 M class runs and 1 84.95% A class run. Only needed a solid A class run to clinch an M initial classification.
Last classifier was Tick Tock and had a solid 80% secured... until I threw a 3rd shot at the last target for absolutely no reason, incurring a Virginia count penalty and setting my average down to 84%
Although I was pretty disappointed at the moment, I don't think I'm quite at M class level yet in regular matches. I'm still very proud of where I've gotten so far given I shot my first match 7 months ago

Just signed up for my first USPSA match for this coming Sunday at Phoenix Rod and Gun Club. I’ve been shooting for several years and have been practicing for a match for a few months now (I know I should have signed up for a match much sooner).
Has anyone shot here before and have any tips they’d like to share? Even basic stuff like bringing sunscreen, umbrella, cart etc.
Thanks yall!

Really starting to find my groove on the aggression/confirmation forefront. Still need to find the balance when it comes to the eyes leaving the target before a trigger press is finished. Eyes moving too soon cost me a NS and a M today. However I am super happy with the speed of the movement and shooting on the move when possible.

Hi all;
I've just started and so know less than most everyone else here. On the flip side, I know more about being a newbie than most everyone else here 😄. Here are my suggestions for newbies.
Best of luck to all of you taking it up.

Glock 19.5 Failure to Return to Battery
If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Trying to provide all relevant info without turning it to much TL/DR.
My Glock 19.5 EDC has a persistent failure to return to battery. It happens every couple of shots. It happens with many different mags (all OEM). The issue is that a round gets caught on the feed ramp. If I pull the slide back a tiny bit the round pops into place and the slide will close.
This happens with FMJ, different brands, all new, in 115gr and 124gr. All brands that the gun used to eat no issues at all.
Gun has about 8000 rounds on it, recoil spring was replaced (with new OEM) at about 5500 rounds. Gun continued to perform perfectly until two weeks ago. Problem just started between on range trip and the next.
STEPS TO ISOLATE PEOBLEM
I have a 19X. It has the same optic as my 19.5. If I switch the whole slides the problem follows the 19.5 slide and happens shooting that slide on the 19X frame. The 19X slide works perfectly on the 19.5 frame.
If have swapped the recoil springs, problem stays with the 19.5 slide. Swapped barrels, problem stays with 19.5. barrel.
I have a Johnny Glock trigger in the 19.5, along with the Johnny Glock plunger, and striker/spring. It is not the trigger because the problem follows the 19.5 slide to the 19X frame.
I swapped the striker back to OEM on the 19.5 slide. No difference. I tried a brand new recoil spring on the 19.5. No difference.
I took it to the LGS that is supposed to have an actual gunsmith. They said gun was bone dry but I clean it every couple of hundred rounds and always lube it to spec exactly as recommended in the Glock manual. Regardless, gun smith looked at everything and took the slide apart and put back together and lubed it. Same problem on the second shot.
All the mags I use perform flawlessly in the 19.5 frame with the 19X slide. Also perform with the 19X slide on the 19X frame.
No visible damage to the feed ramp on the barrel, and the problem doesn't follow the barrel anyway.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hello! I’m a newbie to comp shooting planning out a rifle build. I presently own a carbine length bushmaster AR15 that I’m planning to update to rifle length with a 20” barrel and an A2 fixed butt stock. I also wanted to run A2 rifle length hand guards.
Can someone help me understand with these modifications if I fall under the “M16 configured rifle” and can get a sling mount 13” from the magazine well?
Really don’t want to be the guy that shows up and gets DQ’d his first day!
Thank you!

I’ve only been competing since March of this year. I’m a C class and I got a bunch of habits I need to fix. But damn it, I’m committed to getting better, having fun and sending it down range. I competed today at Prado and even though it was hotter than hell, and I’m not great, it was still a blast 🔥🙌🏽

Hello!
My game/tool runs on a game engine, you need a projector, laptop and a webcam.
Would anyone be interested if I sold this on Steam ?
Works great with a SIRT but it should work with any other laser system (like laser ammo), in a dimmed room.
I am trying to reduce latency right now, even though it feels pretty nice. It can easily register 80-100 ms split times (yeah my video is not a good example for this, also one handed while laying in the couch while filming)
Sorry if my english is bad
