Help, I am new to cEDH! Help Deciding on a Grixis Commander

I have recently been trying to find a Grixis commander that made me want to build a deck with it but I have been having a hard time finding one that feels right. My favorite commanders I play are Felothar the Steadfast, Aminatou Veil Piercer, Quintorius History Chaser, Rootha Mastering the Moment, Samut the Driving Force, Sidar Jabari of Zhalfir, and Ashling the Limitless.

I typically like to play decks that do something different than what that color normally does like reanimator in Boros or Big Spells in Izzet or have a sort of mini game/side quest attached to them like Miracle with Aminatou or Speed with Samut.

Of the different Grixis commanders I have looked at a few stand out to me, though I’m not sure how well they work in practice or what the average game with them is like. I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight.

[[Edea, Possessed Sorceress]]
[[Wick, the Whorled Mind]]
[[Marchesa, the Black Rose]]
[[Evelyn, the Covetous]]
[[Parnesse, the Subtle Brush]]
[[Kess, Dissident Mage]]
[[Lynde, Cheerful Tormentor]]
[[Sedris, the Traitor King]]

You're probably looking for r/degenerateedh. CEDH isn't so much about what you "like" to do, it's more about doing what wins.

Sure its 99% about doing what wins but that 1% still makes people choose different commanders. No one is going to argue with you that kefka is better than rog si, but it does play differently, meaning people play cedh for more than just winning.

I would argue that even then the bar for a cedh commander is that it does something best, even if it's not the best in general. Kefka may be generally worse than rogsi, but it provides late game insurance/staying power which rogsi doesn't.

Yup, that's why I said

isn't so much about

instead of "isn't about"

Your best 2 bets for cedh grixis are Rogsi and kefka iirc.

I'm not familiar with any of the commanders youentiones in your post, but I don't believe any of them are CEDH level. If you wanted to get started on a good bracket 4 deck though I would just Google " CEDH [insert commander name here] and find a list to run off of scry field or mtggoldfish

Grixis kess is an insane reanimator, demonic turor unanswered is a win

I recommend [[inalla]]if you want a fun reanimator loop

If you just want a bracket 4 deck then yeah the world is your oyster, grixis is the fastest color pairing

I mean if you’re trying for a cEDH deck (given this sub is cEDH), Kess was at one point fringe cEDH for chaining extra turns. If you’re just looking for grixis commanders to play that aren’t bracket 5, wick is fun

Evelyn is very good

I love Evelyn to this day. I just run her Grixis slop instead of using Worldgorger. Still can use her to win with Ghostly Flicker lines.
