"Assault with a deadly weapon" scores lower statistically than DUI crime.

Then again, hitting someone with two tonnes of metal - is going to cause more damage than 2 ounces of lead at a much higher impact speed in any case, especially if a vital organ, or the head is hit.

Has anyone got any statistics for "Blunt Force Trauma" vs "Bullet Wound"?

In our case, Britain, back before the Revolution. The things they did to the colonies leading up to the shot heard around the world that sparked the war, plus what their soldiers did to ordinary Americans during the war.

No one ever had the right to "not be murdered".

A government can discourage villains from murdering people - by the full and hard enforcement of all laws as written. Failure to enforce laws - leads to more and more common criminals deciding that they can "harm others, to no consequence".
