Are there any here (or in Port Aransas ig) that aren't just a limited catalog of songs? I've been to a few karaoke places and I always find they never have any songs I really know or wanna sing.

I've been to places that pull up the songs on YouTube so I'm trying to find one here that does that if there are any, it's a curse of being into a buncha niche songs that won't pop up on the programs DJs use. Any help is appreciated.

Since my last posts, the city slides have been updated

They are now stating that the total project cost is 3 to $4 Billion

Sounds like a lot already, but their "total regional project costs" are still misleading and not inclusive of interest and annual maintenance and operating costs over the lifespan of the project.

I've attached an additional slide from a prior city presentation (before adding in a 20+ mile long pipeline and increasing production by 50 million gallons a day) that shows the total project cost was already over $3 billion without these huge additions.

Each candidate will have three minutes to introduce themselves and talk about their priorities. We'll also ask questions with a focus on issues that have come up repeatedly in our neighborhood and across District 2 — public safety, animal control, streets and sidewalks, parks and quality of life, development, infrastructure, and the future of the district.

The Lindale Neighborhood has been hosting candidate forums for about 16 years. We try to make these useful for residents by giving candidates a chance to actually talk about what they would do, rather than just running through a list of generic campaign questions.

The forum is open to the public, and all District 2 residents and voters are welcome.

If you're in District 2, come hear what the candidates have to say and bring a question you'd like them to answer.

This project has been in the works for more than a decade, like the suspended Paulette Guajardo and other pro inner harbor talking heads like to always bring up.

Attached are proposed slides that will presented at tomorrow's council meeting. It is being proposed to pipe the brine discharge out to the gulf, and also expand the amount of water produced, from 30 million of gallons per day (MGD) to 80 MGD.

First, this project is absolutely the wrong choice: location - Hillcrest, serious and extreme cost concerns present without any project updates or changes, and it has been REPEATEDLY rejected and DENIED by not only a large majority of residents but also a majority of the current council.

The fact that that City Staff (Zanoni) are still recommending approval and that these last minute changes brought out to try and sway a vote of course shows, their disregard for democracy and their disregard for the concerns of regular citizens of Corpus, and their siding with corporations over residents.

Getting into these night before/hail mary/desperation changes:

The prospect of piping out the brine has always been in discussion around Inner Harbor (Hillcrest) desal. The audacity to propose a plan with it now, after it never coming into fruition before (OR FROM YOUR FIRST CHOICE CONTRACTOR LAST YEAR) is embarrassing and they are silly to think this would work.

Considering the discussion of piping out the brine would usually be around how much more than would impact project cost: These slides have no price estimates or projections and they want the council to approve moving this forward with these late changes.

Proposing that production will be more than doubled (!) at this point, with all that has happened in the timeline and the public pushback....They are responding to serious concerns by tripling down on this location and project! Show up to the meeting if you can! It will be most of the day tomorrow!

These vigils are acts of reqular, visible resistance to the mass deportations, detainments, incarcerations and murders of our neighbors.

My mom’s boyfriend was picked up by ICE in Corpus Christi. He has been in the U.S. for over 20 years, has never been deported before, and has no arrests or criminal record.
My mom already has an appointment with an immigration lawyer on Monday, but we’re trying to figure out if there is anything she can do TODAY or anyone she can speak to as soon as possible.
We’ve been told that Catholic Charities/churches may be able to help with immigration cases, but the places we’ve contacted are closed today.
Does anyone know of any immigration attorneys, organizations, churches, legal aid groups, advocates, or other resources in the Corpus Christi area that are open/available today and help with ICE detention cases? We’re especially looking for someone who can advise us on what can be done to try to get him released as soon as possible.
If you’ve personally dealt with something similar in Corpus Christi and know who we should contact, I would really appreciate any information. Thank you.
