Makeup Makeup Advice (Newbie)

I’ve NEVER used makeup properly before, last time I used anything was when I was when I was 6, And I’m HEAVILY REGRETTING IT NOW. I don’t know a thing about makeup, I tried today with some random eyeshadow from the dollarstore, I thought it would be easy (ITS NOT) I just put it on my eyelids and I looked like a disaster, and when I finally cleaned it up, it still looked odd.
Never Used Foundation

Eyeliner

ANYTHING

Begging for help.

Trying to look like MaoMao from “The Apothecary Diaries”

I’m willing to practice 🥹

I need advice from people with experience, or expert makeup artists or cosplayers❤️❤️❤️

Honestly, youtube is the place to go. There are tens of thousands of hours of makeup tutorials that you can watch and experiment with.

Watch some tutorials! Stuff from like 2017 is GREAT for cosplay because everyone was really obsessing over making everything as long-wear as possible, and because much flashier makeup was trendy than today, which is EXCELLENT for cosplay

Everyone is right about YouTube, but I would like to emphasize one clear makeup technique that doesn't translate well and takes awhile to learn: blend and build! 

For colors work slowly with small amounts of product and build it up as you go, blending the edges with a clean brush. That's how you'll get pretty natural blush, but also get soft to washes of color like Maomao has instead of just a harsh smear.
