Help! Keep Craftsman C3 tools or replace

Hello, I have a variety of C3 power tools that are still on good working order. They get used every once in a while for various DIY projects/hobbies. Im considering slowly upgrading to craftsman V20 or something else. Due to a need for a router and orbital saner and want a shared battery family. Would it be worth it or should I just keep my C3 tools and get an adapter?

I'd keep the tools and just get an adapter to run the newer style batteries

Thats most likely what I'll do. Im honestly impressed by the drill. Its been ran hard over the years and sometimes improperly and hasn't let me down yet.

I highly recommend it. When my C3 batteries went out I switched over to Dewalt batteries and an adapter. I've been running a few tools that way for years.

Once you get one V20 tool (especially brushless) you'll want more and more 😁

What is the difference between brushless and not brushless as far as user experience goes?

smoother, more power, and the tools are lighter in general compared to their brushed counter part (I've been switching to brushless slowly over past 2 years as needed).

I really like mine and am probably just going to get some V20 adapters once I get a router and orbital sander. Was just curious what others opinions are because I don't really know much about power tools. The set I have was a BDay gift from around 10yrs ago I think. Came with a bag, 2 batteries+charger, light, circular saw, reciprocal saw and drill. Bought the C3 jig saw a few years back for a project. Im halfway considering getting the C3 tools im missing off market place just to say I have the complete collection and to satisfy my ADHD/tism need for cohesive collections of things lol

Same haha, my dad found a drill driver/worklight set and somehow that spiraled into a collection of that, impact driver, tire inflator, circular saw, wet/dry vac, weedwacker, hammer drill, right angle drill, reciprocating saw, another circular saw, fluorescent light, corner sander, planer, and now a blower/vac. How’s the jigsaw btw? I really wanted to buy one but on shopgoodwill people constantly kept bidding the prices up too high lol.

Nice! Yeah I kinda want to get the impact driver and corner sander. No problems with it thus far, cuts fast and is easy to maneuver. Used it to make a barbell jack out of a piece 2X6 a while back. Made quick work of it.

That's really good to hear, is yours the laser trac version or just reg? Dunno if it's worth spending the extra on the laser version or not...

I too am expanding my C3 collection. Latest was the hedge trimmer at a local charity shop.

I use a 3D printed adapter to Rigid batteries. My son runs Rigid, and they have the needed power management to run in older tools.

I'm a contractor, and love using them. They never let me down.

Because I wanted opinions on what's available these days vs my 10+ yr old tools. I thought that was apparent.
