I put flair on my post [OC][Canada ]
Speeding through a playground zone and cuts into the lane. Passed so close I could feel the air it moved. Best part was the fact that he couldn’t remember 90 seconds into the past where he passed a cyclist. Goes to show you that no matter what you’re invisible.

Road design is a factor here. Beyond the obvious lack of any lane protection for cyclists, those flex posts on the centerline, in a curve, tend to cause drivers of wider vehicles to cut the corner. If they had installed matching posts on the edge of the lane it would slow drivers down and help keep them centered.
I would have lost my cool, too.

Agree, road design sucks. Flex posts on the inside line would prevent the cars from accessing the parking. They should have put the parking on one side and a dual direction protected bike lane on the other side.

You're not invisible, you are a nuisance that needs to be taught a lesson or two:
* cycling is dangerous, get off the road
* get a car, loser
This is sarcasm, but the message from drivers is genuine.

Not sure if this exists in Canadadia (Cana-DAE-Dee-Ah) this is my son’s enunciation, he also says Japapappapan (Japa-Pappa-Pan)) we have a national “metre matters” road law that says drivers must leave 1 metre while passing (about 6.5 freedom hot dogs) for under 60km/hr and for speeds over 60km/hr they must leave 1.5 metres space (approx 9.8 freedom hot dogs).
Application and enforcement is patchy, but then it takes generations to change general attitudes to cyclists.

Nobody can hear you with that small horn expect pedestrians. I have a loud bicycle car horn and when I hit the crosswalk button and as soon as it changes I give warning taps as I cross to make sure folks see and hear me.

I've Realized lol. I have looked at the Loud Bicycle. It's a pretty expensive upgrade. One day.
The horn really only works on cars at lights with their windows down

Go on Amazon and lookup bicycle car horns. I got one off there for 55$ and it works like a charm. It has 126db and even a alarm

Odd that a bus would not have identifying numbers and company ID. Find the company and turn this ass into the dispatcher or safety official.
Call the safety official or dispatcher, offer to send an image of the close pass, the plate, and the driver with the understanding you are reporting a dangerous situation with their bus. The safety officials do not want problems, this chucklehead is a problem.
Be very calm, be professional, and see what the response is. Poor response, go up the chain of oversight.
Edit: Do this for all commercial vehicles that encroach or otherwise endanger.

It’s a private farm bus. It’s not required to have info and probably doesn’t Becasue they’re maniacs. There’s a couple more like it running around that have a company name. Going to see if they’re connected.

In other words, the driver is an untrained menace. In my state (US), I would turn him into the DOT or RMV

It’s been reported to the police.
They used to run around in 12 seater vans with wooden benches until one crashed and two people died. So now they’re all in these buses.

Another thing that maybe works, some states (don't know about C, allow a plate search at the DMV and will reveal the insurance co associated with that plate. They get a report, also.
I wish it was like the UK where a report gets followed up.
