SCAMMER ALERT: Viet Collector
Hello everyone!
I always hate making posts like these, but it looks like now is the time.
It appears that the Youtube and Resin Collector Viet Collector has started scamming customers. He is also either the owner or part owner of the Dynanic Studios resin statue company.
YouTube: Viet Collector - YouTube
Instagram: u/vietcollector
Facebook: (3) Viet Collector | Facebook
From what it looks like, Viet Collector has taken buyers payments and failed to ship out the item that they purchased and completely ghosts them. I had been seeing posts about this for the past month, but wanted to let it play out a bit more before posting. I have never had any interactions with Viet Collector, and never watched his videos, but I know he is a huge part of the Statue collecting community.
Today, in a couple of groups the following was posted by a member:
Some of you have already seen and commented on the ongoing issues with Khanh Do. He’s probably better known to the rest of you as VietCollector on youtube, and owner of Dynamic Studio. Not to mention admin for FNC’s facebook groups.
Introductions out of the way for people unfamiliar - the reason for this post is that i think it’s finally time for me to fully acknowledge that beyond all sane reason, Khanh is almost certainly scamming people, myself included.
As much as i hate to admit it, his behavior these few months has been raising every obvious red flag you can think of, but i didn’t want to recognize that fact. Worse, I defended him, because he was one of the first content creators that introduced me to this hobby. And recognizing that he might actually be betraying everyone’s trust genuinely stings.
I’ve tried to gather these notes from my own experiences, and the testimonies of other collectors, and i’ll let you all make your own conclusions.
Khanh has been claiming fedex and ups have been taking and holding his packages, eventually returning them weeks later, unshipped, for a variety of reasons. This has been going on for months. I think I myself am coming up on month 4. For anyone who has shipped anything in the states, i think we’re all aware that this isn’t how these companies work. For those who haven’t shipped before - they take your package, do their measurements, and give you a tracking number as soon as you pay. This should have been enough of a warning for me, but again, i didn’t want to recognize that Khanh might not be 100% honest with me.
And for the record, the first person I saw that really called him out here on facebook was able to get his package shipped very quickly, provided their post went away. Odd that Khanh managed to sort that one out as efficiently as he did, i think.
* Khanh has also claimed water damage to my boxes, but not the statues themselves. Thinking on it now, this was probably just another delay tactic, but i’m just curious if he said the same to anyone else.
An obvious one - He’s easy to message while he’s taking your money, but after that it takes a week or more to get a hold of him, if he ever answers. And in my most recent conversations with him, he has refused to come back to facebook proper, instead opting to keep everything in Messenger.
And, this next one was a big one that I should have questioned - for the second of the two statues i bought from him, he gave me a new email to send money to, which, again, from anyone else would have been a huge warning. But i chose to ignore it. And that email just so happens to belong to a Huy Le, which is the same name as one of the admins of the FNC group. Go figure.
There’s also an odd conversation that another member posted about between him and the facebook rep for Dynamic Studio. According to Dynamic, Khanh is merely assisting in publishing. No real ties to Dynamic, or at least not now that it no longer suits them. This is of course, contrary to what Khanh has been saying for, what, a year now? Beyond shady behavior, from both parties.
I’m sure i’m missing some critical evidence that i can add to this post later, but right now, i’m just done. I’m just so deflated. To think that my first genuine scamming may likely be coming from someone like this. Like, baby’s first scam is supposed to come from some new account, right? Or a fake profile. Or someone who’s been trolling the boards under new aliases for years. Someone with experience duping collectors. But nope. Khanh fuckin’ Do. Goddamn Vietcollector, a known quantity in the community. Fuckin’ hell.
To summarize, I guess - the evidence, even just from my own experience, says that Khanh Do is almost certainly scamming people. I still don’t want to fully admit it, despite writing all this.
Huy Le, another admin of FNC, whoever he is, is part of this, maybe? I guess it’s a common name, but i find it too coincidental.
And uh, Dynamic Studio, who I suppose is trying to wash their hands of Khanh? I don’t think they should get to just walk away. Not sure what could realistically be done about them, though.
So I guess the long and short of it is - this sucks. I’m not even angry anymore, just fuckin’ sad that it’s actually come to this.
But hey, maybe he’ll see my post and finally get my statues out in the mail, right?
Hahahaha. Haaaa…
This post has brought a lot of attention towards the situation, and I am waiting to see how it plays out, with that said, if anyone has had any dealings with Viet Collector or Dynamic Studios recently, it would be in your best interest to try and either request a refund or file a clam.
I will update this post with any new information I receive.
Stay safe everyone, and keep growing those collections!
Update from the original poster on Facebook:
Update 8/11/21
Khanh responded to me maybe 10 minutes after this post went up. He said he’d get me tracking by tomorrow (8/10), and to post if I don’t.So here’s me posting that I didn’t.
Update 2 - 8/11/2021
I have a tracking # for one of two statues. He says the second will go out tomorrow. The package is in ups hands, and on its way to me.Update 3
I also need to apologize to Huy Le. Ever since this posted, he’s been speaking with me in messenger and doing his own outreach with other folk, trying to get to the bottom of whatever is going on.Like, the guy has been fabulous, and I originally called out him as a potential scammer, but it’s looking more like he’s just as much a potential victim here.
It seems that you have to call him out as a scammer in a public way before he will ship your stuff. Buyers beware!

Banpresto Banpresto World Figure Colosseum SCultures 5 Nappa (2015)
Sculpted by Takamatsu Seishin, this is the SCultures 5 Nappa. He was released along side Raditz.
Highly detailed, but a bit small (5.5"). This figure on average is one of the least favorites of the SCultures 5 release, due to the realistic stylization of his anatomy.
I personally love him. I think he looks amazing.

Question Dragon Ball WCF or Adverge line?
Millennial DBZ fan here who grew up with DBZ on Toonami along with the VHS’s, magazines, and I used to collect the old Bandai figures with two points of articulation and all, fun times! I recently purchased DB FighterZ for the Switch and it’s made me rediscover my love for the DB universe. I’m currently doing a rewatch of all the series starting with the OG DB all the way through the newest series.
I want to start collecting a fig line and tbh it’s a little overwhelming with how lines are out there. The Masterlise Ichibansho figurines look beautiful but they're a little out of my price range (even though their price is great for such nice pieces) and a little too big/tall for my liking. I’ve been researching different figure lines and I really like the WCF and Adverge lines. Perfect size for displaying in my room and I love the variety. Have a few questions on which line to collect
Which line of figurines do you prefer and why?
How accessible are the WCF figures to those of us in the US? Are they imports and only available online or anime/specialty shops?
How are the average prices for some of the older and popular character figures?
The Adverge line looks a little more detailed from the online images I’ve seen but the WCF line does as well, which is better quality in your opinion?
The Adverge line is 3in while the WCF line is 2 1/2inches, is that correct?
The WCF line seems to have more characters especially when it comes to the more obscure characters which makes me lean towards them but the Adverge line is newer so they can always catch up and the quality seems a little better.
As a new collector which line would you go with? Are some of the WCF figs expensive because of their age?
Thanks!

Banpresto Best UK retailers for Ichiban Kuji / Ichibansho DBGT SSJ4 Goku & Vegeta Masterlise pre-orders?
Hey everyone,
I'm looking to secure pre-orders for the upcoming Dragon Ball GT Ichiban Kuji/Ichibansho Masterlise Super Saiyan 4 Goku and Vegeta figures.
Since pre-orders for these tend to sell out in hours once live, I want to make sure I don't miss out.
Could anyone point me toward reliable UK-based (or UK-friendly) retailers that usually set up pre-orders or waiting lists for these drops?
Any advice on notification trackers or specific shops to keep an eye on would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Banpresto G×materia Son Goku Kamehameha
One of my favorite Goku figures! The glittery Kamehameha effect and dynamic pose make this piece stand out so much.

Vintage Medicos Entertainment Chozou Art Collection Super Saiyan Son Goku (2009)
This figure was sculpted by someone simply known as "Progress", and was released in 2009 by Medicos Entertainment in conjunction with the Dragonball Kai anime series.
Medicos is mostly known for their Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure figures, and this is the only Dragonball figure they ever produced. It was also reissued in 2014 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the manga.
The figure was released in 2 versions, the original being the solid hair color and the second being the translucent hair.
It's very difficult to see, but not only is the hair different on each one, but they also have slightly different color pallettes. The second version has deeper shadows and stronger highlights than the first version.

Banpresto Banpresto Master Stars Piece The Son Goku (2014)
This was sculpted by Hiroyuki Nakazawa and was the first figure released in the Master Stars Piece line.
This Goku was also released in the collectors edition game bundle Battle of Z.
He was also released in three other variants, including a special color version, a "chocolate" version (exclusive to China), and the third was the 2D "Manga Dimensions" version.
The Manga Dimensions version of this figure was also the first figure ever from Bandai to feature a cel shaded 2D variant.

Banpresto Banpresto SCultures 8 World Figure Colosseum Sun Wukong Goku (2018)
This was sculpted by Yamashita Manabu, and was released in 2018 from Banpresto as part of the SCultures/World Figure Colosseum line.
His power pole/staff is not fixed to his hand, so he can be displayed without it.
Manabu is a master at sculpt detail, and I'm in love the details on the bonnet and the tiger skin.
There is some bleeding on the paintjob on the headdress and boots, but these are prize figures, so you can't expect the paintjob to be too great.

Banpresto Banpresto SCultures 2 World Figure Colosseum Ox King.
Please forgive the broken horn. My kids are not gentle with my stuff.
This figure was sculpted by Yamashita Manabu and was released in 2012. One of my favorites in my collection, despite being a tad battle damaged.
The detail is incredible. The only major issue with this figure is his head feather is not fixed, and fits very loosely into his helmet. This is a common problem with this figure. It's not unusual to come across pre-owned figures of this in which the head feather is missing.
One thing I will say is that World Collectible Figures (WCF) scale very well with him.

Banpresto Banpresto SCultures 3 World Figure Colosseum Muten Roshi (2013)
This figure was sculpted by Matsuura Ken, and released in 2013 as part of Banpresto's SCultures World Figure Colosseum line. This line focused more heavily on showcasing sculptors than it did with actually showcasing characters, which lead to incredibly detailed figures in this line despite being prize classification.
Roshi's sunglasses and staff are removable on this figure. This was sculpted from the cover art of volume 2 of the Kanzenban; the 20th anniversary reissue of the Dragonball manga.

Banpresto Banpresto Master Stars Piece Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Son Goku (2015)
This figure was sculpted by Hiroyuki Nakazawa, and was released in 2015: the same day as the film Dragonball Super: Resurrection F.
Being that it was released in conjuction with the film, this was the first figure ever made of Super Saiyan Blue Goku.

Banpresto Banpresto Master Stars Piece The Goku 2 (2014)
This figure was released in 2014 and was sculpted by Hiroyuki Nakazawa. It was the second figure released for the Master Stars Piece line.
This hair sculpt is original to this figure, but the mold ended up being used for countless base Goku and Bardock figures for several years after this. The mold has since been seemingly retired.

Ichiban Kuji "Strongest Rival" Frieza (2011)
