From the article:

Xolo Maridueña wasn’t sure what would become of Blue Beetle after he debuted as the DC crime fighter in a 2023 blockbuster. That was, until DC boss James Gunn called him about coming back for the Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow.

“I was in Japan with my friends; nobody knew anything,” Maridueña recalled on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of Practical Magic 2. “And I just see, like the Bat-phone, my phone rings [and it’s] James Gunn. All my friends look at me, and I had to leave the room. I came back, and I was like, ‘Off the record, don’t tell anyone, but we’re coming back,’ and I’m so excited for people to see where Blue Beetle ends up.”

Maridueña explained that he was unsure he’d suit up as Blue Beetle again after his standalone feature. He added that he feels “humbled” by the opportunity to come back to the DCU.

“There’s never a guarantee with anything, bro,” he said. “I mean, you know this, stuff flips on a dime, and I know that it’s not always like a merit-based system. So there’s so much that’s out of my control, but I am just the most humbled of James and the greater DC team for folding us in, Indiana Jones style.”

Man of Tomorrow, the follow-up to 2025’s Superman, sees the titular DC icon team up with his arch-nemesis Lex Luthor to defeat an intergalactic super genius known as Brainiac. David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult are set to return as Superman and Lex, respectively. Other cast members include Lars Eidinger, Aaron Pierre, Nathan Fillion, Milly Alcock, Isabela Merced and Skyler Gisondo.

From the interview article:

GQ: Where are you in the world right now?

Pattinson: "I’m in London here till the end of the year doing a Batman sequel."

How’s that going?

"It’s good. I’m definitely feeling my age when fighting a lot. I’m literally like, 'Goddamn, this is significantly harder than it used to be.' But it’s really fun. And I think the movie’s going to be pretty great. It’s got a really, really fun cast, but it’s a marathon."

Some shots of someone riding a motorcycle leaked from the set. Is that you or a stunt double? I think that’s a stunt double. Is that something in Liverpool or Scotland or something?

"Someone’s on a motorcycle in the snow, and apparently it’s a Batman alter ego called 'the Drifter.' Yeah, it’s me! It’s me. [Laughs.]"

...And then we’re here talking about the role of a lifetime…campaign ambassador for [Jaeger-LeCoultre]. What drew you to the brand and got you excited about this partnership?

"I was [presenting at] the Oscars, and my manager was like, 'Do you want to wear a watch?' And I was like, 'Yeah.' I wasn’t thinking about doing a watch partnership or anything. I was looking through pictures of watches, and the rose-gold Master Control came up. I was like, 'Ooh, that’s nice.' I very rarely even wear watches, but when I tried it on, I was like, 'That’s my favorite watch.' I wanted to just buy it."

"After the Oscars, I went back to London and ended up walking past the store and looking at all the other watches. Something clicked in my mind. I’m like, 'They’re just so gorgeous.' And I ended up wearing one in [the next] Batman as well. This seems like quite a nice partnership to have, and it seems very suited to me as well. I like that style so much and the philosophy of the company."

I’m glad you brought up The Batman in connection to JLC, because in all of Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies, Christian Bale wears the brand. Was that something you were aware of when you first became interested in these watches?

"When I was just starting to look them up and trying to decide which model to have for it, I realized that Christian had them as well. It is weird—as soon as you put the Reverso on, it definitely has a Bruce Wayne feel. There’s something that felt so incredibly correct for it, even the strap we chose. It’s the last thing I put on when you put the costume on, and there’s a guy who’s looking after the watch, and it all feels extremely Bruce Wayne-coded."

Had a walk around The Batman Part 2 set late last night in Glasgow to see if I could see anything, they were being verrry secretive. Lots of high tarped off fences, and a TON of security. Filming is now taking place underneath Kingston Bridge.
