Being afraid
There are heaps of comments on this sub that reference people wanting to “work they’re way up”, or try it in combo with this or that, or worried about having too much, or worried about the trip.
The thing about dmt, and anything of that nature is that the journey availed is availed to you, and only you. It’s your journey. You have to trust that nothing “bad” would ever happen. Any challenging trip is challenging for good reason. It could be as a result of any number of considerations, but it’s where you were and all challenges must be overcome in order to progress. If you have worked sufficiently to be psychologically balanced, not have internal conflicts, or limiting beliefs about alternate realities and spiritual constructs, that makes for smoother travels, and if you don’t, then the experience will assist to identify where your awareness had left the most opportunity for expansion.
I’m not at all saying it doesn’t require brevity, but not as a result for concern over whether it will be “good” or “bad”, or “too much”. It’s always going to be good, and it’s always going to impossible to even put words to. I guess what I am trying to say is that you can trust the space, implicitly. And to get around, entities are allies, but if you don’t trust them, why would they trust you?
It’s the best party going down, always will be, and it’s open invite (providing one gets through the door)…novelty is your friend as much as theirs. They will be so happy to see you..

It's easier said than done. Even though most people implicitly know they won't be physically harmed during the experience. The feeling of blasting off and experiencing an encounter with some entities that can slap your consciousness across the universe is fucking terrifying lol. I've heard stories of these cosmic jesters putting people's consciousness in never-ending geometry loops that they felt like they were trapped in forever, and some woman who said a jester grabbed her top lip and stretched it until it could pull it over her head like who framed Roger rabbit lol.
Personally, I find these concepts so absurd they are hilarious, and it tells me these jesters have a sadistic sense of humour, which I appreciate lol. But still, there's something in me that makes me apprehensive. I want to experience that breakthrough, but at the same time I'm worried. I keep telling myself there's nothing to be afraid of. My intentions are good. I just want to learn, to see behind the curtain, and interact with beings from another dimension. The whole thing fascinates me. Plus, I'm humble enough (I think) to accept if I get told I'm not ready. I will be grateful for anything these beings want to show me. Even if they want to continue doing what they're doing, I'm hoping I can control my thoughts and just be respectful.

Totally. Sometimes the best way to make a point is to ridicule the opposing position. It is all only in jest. One can’t take themselves too seriously. It’s fair game. I do truly believe the absolute trust in that space is deserved. You have to just hand over in every sense. Tough trips are always going to be part of it. When I was more active in terms of regular structured explorations we used to take acid until it was impossible to actually see the surface of any object, even if 20cm in front of you, that would be the base layer…when doing those more extreme combos, it was on the basis that hard work had been done, the investment to go in with confidence had been made, but the “investment” was really the extremely challenging trips. A 12-16 hour introspective nightmare acid trip, if framed the right way, is a gift as it would have only been possible if there was a vulnerability there. The torture trip highlights the issue, and in the case of acid it’s often a self-reflection taken to the extreme, but regardless, they allow the foundation of absolute confidence (not arrogance) to build for the much more heavy duty access opps. 7/8 tabs now, would never even consider it…but at the time, if building skills in dimmi land, my opinion on acid was that it was about as strong as red cordial, introspective nightmare or otherwise.

It is a conversation with you though, not just you observing them. I believe you agree, I think. Gotta make it a convo

I find this to be a bit flippant, as there are genuine risks for people engaging with DMT. A generally health and mentally sound person is most likely going to be fine, if rattled at times, but there are so many out there who are not in good health in some way that still want to partake.
DMT has an acute period of spiked heart rate and blood pressure; so it is an additive risk for those already with heart conditions or severe high blood pressure. It has no known kills as of yet, but that doesnt mean it is without risk in that regard, or could exacerbate other conditions.
The mental health side is a lot more varied of course; those with manic or psychotic symptoms should really either stay away or exercise the utmost caution, as DMT ( and honestly most psychedelics) can significantly worsen the states that they experience. Those prone to dissociative states can find themselves further dissociated, to the points of derealization or depersonalization.
Those with severe trauma can encounter psychedelically enhanced flashbacks, having a re-traumatizing experience which doesnt aid in their mending or overall wellbeing. It can be great for this work, but it must be carefully done, and preferably done after a lot of therapy so the individual has tools and skills in order to navigate confronting those experiences in a vividly enhanced recall.
"nothing bad will ever happen"-- dude have you seen how many mentally unwell people go off the deep end on this sub? the amount of people who enter spiritual psychosis, or are dealing with schizophrenia and have their symptoms worsened? Or the ones who find only confirmation-bias in their trips and form incredibly strange beliefs, to the point of being aggressive?
You cannot trust the space implicitly. The space is you, and you are inherently an unreliable and biased narrator of your own lived experiences.
I agree that DMT is great at showing people their limitations at times, but not everyone has the wherewithal to be able to parse the experiences and view it as such.
Look, I love DMT and am a huge advocate for it across many circumstances and I've personally helped dozens of people get through their first extractions, but this post misleads the people interested in DMT about its risks and the necessary considerations.

Yeah I have seen people have seizures and all sorts of crazy things. With no reason to expect the outcome either - not on meds, no medical conditions.

I appreciate that your comment is out of concern. May I point something out very clearly however - if someone has any of the conditions you elude to that would create a risk, then they shouldn’t be putting themselves at risk. That is obvious the case, and I just assume that as a default.
Comments that I made regarding trust and safety are from the perspective of experience, what someone may encounter. Any advice is only relevant to those in a position to venture, at some stage. If this isn’t the case, then they would be reading for entertainment purposes, or not at all, which is much more likely.
If we were to entertain your comments more seriously, tell me what you prescribe as a way for me to embrace this newly ascribed responsibility?
Tell me what you recommend:
(a) put a super clear disclaimer on everything I write, pointing out that if you have x condition, or x psychology, or you are on this list of mediations, or this, that etc. please “something of a warning”
(b) everyone should just stop talking about concepts if there is a risk that another adult could be in a position to put themselves at risk if they were to not only pursue the broad activity, but then the specific advice, when they should be doing neither
(C) something elseIf I heard a rally driver explain on the radio how to drive through a bush track at top speed should I call the station and explain how dangerous it is to provide the advice? No, I would consider whether I am a rally driver, whether I have a rally car etc etc. It’s pretty obvious my comments are for specific people, and yes, I expect people to be responsible, whether that is on the road, swimming at the beach, or electing to consume a compound (whether prescribed, grown, something from the supermarket, anything). There is one thing I probs won’t do however, and that is to censor myself because of an ambiguous claim you make that there are x number of people incapable of taking responsibility for themselves. If that were truly the case, they won’t have to look far to get themselves into a bunch of trouble hey.
Take care, ‘cause I can’t do it for ya.

I believe I get your analogy, but I'm going to have to disagree on how apparent that came across as- your initial post read like platitudes rather than to a specific subset of users. To the unafflicted, yeah your comments are pretty innocuous. But to the masses who have something going on, and do/will use DMT, I found the post to be a bit too blanket-statement. A lot of people also don't know they might have some of these conditions, or deny their existence, and still partake.
My commentary is out of concern, I want to do my best for harm reduction for this drug so that it can be safely accessed and used by many.

Which part would you correct as here is opportunity to do so, aside from the obvious - that people with a serious medical condition shouldn’t be experimenting with any drugs.
And fact of the matter, with respect to “safety” (and assuming a healthy individual), is that DMT is extremely safe due to how it is metabolised, despite the extreme nature of the experience.

So now you are literally saying that people we should be concerned about sometimes aren’t even aware that they have a condition which justifies concern, yet when they go online your apparent expectation is that posts tailored for people exploring DMT should have been tailored towards and account for any number of possible physiological or psychological conditions, both unknown to the individual, and the person writing the post, in order to mitigate the real or perceived risk exposure that could possibly present as a result of one of those said conditions? Am I understanding that correctly?

Thank you for this reminder! It's true that the experience is personally tailored. It's quite magical when you think about it.
