Appeal form?

This summer I was in two classes but ended up having to drop them due to a family emergency. I checked in later and saw that the drop didn’t end up going through and emailed my professor she did not allow me to make up some of the mandatory assessments to pass the class despite explaining my situation. I stopped participating (and thought I dropped it) about 2ish weeks in.

Is there anyway to get the grade off my transcript due to the emergency or can I make up the grade immediately (grade forgiveness) due to the circumstances?

Thank you

If you look up DVC petition for academic renewal you can see what the requirements are to get your Fs removed from your GPA (they will still be on your transcript but won't be accounted in your GPA total). I don't think you'll immediately be able to get the grades removed, you usually have to prove yourself to the college that you can get good grades for a full semester. It's going to be super busy in the counseling department for the first month so I'd suggest dropping in sometime next month to ask about it.

I second this, I had this done when I had some Fs from a severe burn out and had them all removed this way since it affected my registration by bringing down my GPA a ton. There may still be a chance for OP to do something soon if they explain the circumstances, but it's probably not likely. Still, talk to a counselor. They're there to help!

I do not know the answer to your questions, but the relevant Dean is paid to. I recommend contacting that person.
