Personal Goals during playthroughs?

Okay so, beating the main quest notwithstanding, what are some personal goals that you generally set out to achieve, that makes you feel like "yeah, I beat the game now that I've done/got this."

For me, it's affording a house with zero exploits, and that includes free housing from Knightly Orders, or Loan Fraud. It's always a long-term goal, and I've only done it legit maybe once.

That depends a lot on the character I play. Some characters want to rob every store in town, while others want to reach god like powers trough magic.

I usually push for a million gp.
I can breeze the main quest now ..but I have never made a million without extra console assistance.

It's not too hard if you loot everything, look at the ratio of value to weight to figure out what's best and by the time you've done enough dungeons to max out your rank in a few factions you should have at least a million. Just make sure to go to low quality stores, and sell items one at a time so your mercantile goes up. Making a spell strong enough to max out your personality helps too. Set the difficulty dagger not too far above 1x so good gear appears sooner, you can get 6 figures for 1 piece of daedric armor sometimes

Beating the main quest without abusing glitches or using guides should be a big enough challenge that you dont need to do anything else. Assuming you haven't done it yet it could easily take you several hundred hours. I think most people who have beat this game either used a guide or glitched out of the map at some point in the main quest.

My first playthrough I accidentally abused the game. I didn't realise raising a magic skill above 100, even the smallest amount, so easily got all spells of the school down to 5 mana cost. I thought 110 destruction would just help my DPS a little and reduce resting, but god damn I broke the whole game balance with 5 mana nuke spells without intending to.

I always wanted to buy my own house in the game without doing any exploits or cheating, only in dungeons because I always get lost but, doing a lot of sidequests and get underpaid. I once rescued a little girl from a 8 level dungeon (it was a maze) and all i got was like 60 or 30 something gold.

The loot is always the real reward, even when you're getting paid close to 1000 you find more coin than that past very low levels, and that's nothing compared to how much good armour sells for

Man I always get scammed by those blacksmiths, they pay insanely low for my armor and my barter skill has more points than my running skill

You gotta go to the shops that have the message about a burrowing mouse when you walk in. I always find a pawn shop and an alchemist that give that message, between the 2 you can sell everything. Low level armour doesn't sell for much, but the value doubles with every step up in material, so daedric is worth like 64x as much as elven. A fortify personality spell helps too

I'm a terrible loot goblin so affording a house isn't really a problem for me, once you're level 15+ loot gets really valuable. You can get 6 figures for a single daedric item sometimes, especially if you bring it to the lowest quality shops. My last character has 3 houses, a boat, and about 13 million in the bank, with nothing I'd consider an exploit, except a custom item to increase carrying capacity to 225 and always hauling out as much precious loot as I can

My side goal with my first character was max rank in every faction they joined (mages, fighters, thieves, knights, and akatosh temple), after that my other characters just rank up enough to get whatever perks they want. Mainly item enchanting, that breaks the game so I'm doing without on my newest character. The journey to Aetherius might be more fun if I was in any danger at any point. Even the bit where you're supposed to pick a skull to open a door, and at least 2 of the 9 skulls kill you, can be gotten around with the skeleton's key

It's also always a goal to get the oghma infinium, but that's just because it's so good lol
