Clifford's owner (Emily) is a terrible dog parent

I was just reading the Clifford the Firehouse Dog book with my son when the giant dog rolled over some poor vendor's cart. My kid was worried for the vendor, as he looks pretty damn upset (as he should be).

That dog is knocking things over left and right, stopping traffic, destroying the livelihoods of entire families, and its just.... funny?

Also, I never see Emily with a cybertruck or at least a wheelbarrow to pick up this dog's poop. A typical ratio of dog weight to dog poop weight is 100:1 (a little slack here...). So, this 5000 pound dog should be dropping 50 pound poops several times a day.

I don't think that Emily is prepared to carry those without any sort of mechanical assistance. Is she just leaving them there?

My kiddo loves the story Smelly Socks, where Tina rows across the river to get funky socks. Well everytime i'm reading this book, on the page where they are rowing you can see drawings of fish under the water and this.. what is it supposed to be?

Lol help me out fellow parents.

It kinda looks like a submerged car? Maybe?

Am I being over dramatic? It’s the official channel, I thought they were better than that to use disturbing images to try and get clicks from little kids

Not Pinkamused

Why does every piece of content geared toward girls have to have a Designated Prefix that gets attached to words?

If it's a legit pun, I'm fine with it. Purrific and Pawesome for cat-themed stuff. Not Meowmazing. Fintastic yes for mermaids. Splasherful no.

It's making me crazy. I'm trying to get my 8-year-old excited about a chapter book, and they put "Grimm" on everything - Grimmcredible. Grimmorible. It's Grimmuining the book.

And the worst of all is Pinkalicious, who doesn't just use "pink" as a replacement prefix, she'll just attach it to a whole word like "pinkamazing."

I think Bear Head is Danny Go in a bear head outfit

This is my first post here and I have this theory that Bear head from the Danny Go series is actually Danny Go. Does anyone have any info on if this is true or not?

( RIP to his son 😥)

I’m making a “kids songs I can tolerate” playlist for the car, and came across the shocking title of #54!! What could it possibly be? How strongly worded should my letter to Mr. Jobs be!?

I have sacrificed far too many of my limited post-partum braincells thinking about Storks (2016)

First of all this movie is an underrated gem. It's very funny, charming, has an excellent cast of voices and good music. Most importantly, it's one of the few movies my little psycho will actually sit and watch which meant it got a lot of airtime in my household after his baby sibling arrived.

It has, however, driven me somewhat mental.

In this universe, you used to be able to send a letter to the storks to have a baby shipped right to your door. Sweet! However, eighteen years ago a baby (Tulip) couldn't be delivered, and this drama (plus the general pain-in-the-arse nature of working with babies) stopped the storks delivering babies altogether. Instead, they basically became an avian version of Amazon.

Ok. So Tulip is now eighteen and has been living on Stork Mountain this whole time. Super sad. A new letter arrives and instead of putting it into the enormous pile of mail the storks have been ignoring for eighteen years, she accidentally puts it into the big magical baby making machine and we get to watch as it somehow turns into a bunch of cells, rapidly divides and grows into a NEW baby. Ruhroh.

Shenanigans ensue and (spoilers!) the baby is delivered to joyful, waiting parents in a beautiful montage that makes me cry every single bloody time. Even better, all those other poor neglected Letter Babies get a run through the Magic Machine and ALSO get delivered to joyful, waiting parents. Awwwwwwwwait.

Some of those letters were sent at least eighteen years ago!! Let's be generous and assume it took at least five years for people to stop writing them (it's common knowledge by the time the movie happens that storks haven't delivered babies for a long time), that still means MOST of those letters were sitting there for over a DECADE. Imagine getting one of those babies, suddenly, eighteen YEARS after you ordered them. Insanity.

Also, most of the happy parents seem to be in their forties at the absolute latest. How many of them wrote those letters as TEENAGERS?

At one point in the movie, a nefarious pigeon changes the delivery address for the baby, implying that the GPS locators they use don't track the letter-writer magically, they just go to an address. Imagine moving into a new house and getting a goddamned suprise baby delivered!

It's a brilliant movie, go watch it, it's great. Just ignore how sometimes the storks have teeth, it's not worth thinking about.

I've seen 4 films recently that end with a giant wildfire needing to be extinguished by destroying a dam. When did this become a thing.

See if you can name all 4 I am thinking of! I'm not even counting Frozen 2 because that wasn't a fire but same concept.

Daniel Tiger songs : Navigation

For those familiar with it , would you not agree that the Navigation song is kind of a banger? It’s been playing in my head nearly every waking hour for a day , and I’m not complaining.

My 4yo solved Ryder's age

Post image
389 Upvotes

There's probably canon or accepted fanon about Ryder's age, but my son solved it the best way and I will accept no other explanation.

"Is Wyder a child or is he a gwownup?"

"That's a good question, buddy. He can drive, so he's at least a big kid..."

"And he can slide down poles so he must be a grownup! But he is little not tall."

"You're right, he's shorter than the other grownu--"

"So he had too much caffeine and it made him short!!"

I may have mentioned the "caffeine stunts your growth" urban legend in front of him before being corrected by my science-minded wife.

So there you have it. Ryder had too many cappuccinos to keep up with the boundless puppy energy and now he's a short king for life.
