Sony is hosting a State of Play this Thursday morning (if you’re in North America), and it will be immediately followed up by a State of Play Japan as well.

Given DOA7 was teased earlier this year at a State of Play, it’s possible that we see an update at one of these shows.

I'm really hoping she's free. DOA6LR needs something new included in the package to help justify it's existence.

I understand of course women might be turned off by the fanservice, I obviously play games without it too, just that it kinda makes me smirk a little that DOA's female audience wants the fanservice back, regardless of being straight or lesbian (me being the latter), and even expanding to the men as well, even with all my KT critiques, I just want the one thing that made DOA iconic remains, if not the main outfits for the characters (aka the "cool" ones), then make alternate fits for that purpose

Now, I won't be a hypocrite, the side games are my kinda deal, I am a girl who loves fanservice (sans Marie and Honkers), so really, they appeal to me a lot

But what I actually want more it's on the main series, the great balance of fanservice and coolness, fast paced gameplay, honestly, what happened in 6 should be considered a crime

If DOA7 fails, the FGC will keep spamming "hur dur it failed because of fanservice lmao", 6 didn't have any, 6 died because of the greedy DLC practices and horrendous monetization, 5 also had that, but not only the fanservice was better, the prices were nowhere near this bad

I feel really disappointed with this, this my favorite fighting game, my 3rd favorite gaming franchise after Metroid and Bayonetta, seeing it downgrade itself like this makes me so mad, I want 7 to succeed, but the constant bash against the franchise and KT being stupid dickheads is making it impossible

I've come to terms DOA isn't for everyone, same with games like Stellar Blade, ZZZ, whatever, it's fine, what I hate it's the hypocrisy, the FG will bash DOA for fanservice but will head over heels over SF6's bikinis, look, SF6 have a better diversity in their women, but bashing DOA fans for liking it's what get on my nerves

I just want it to put this off my chest, I want more DOA, but I will come to terms if KT decides that a side gacha game nobody likes it's what DOA will be in the future...

I've noticed now multiple skin backs for the re-release are censored on the Steam store either with a fog or the weird ugly black bodypaint....
I don't get why they're doing this, it's not like Steam has rules against skin showing on store pages.

Have they made some statement on this?
I am not trying to cause drama or whatever I am genuinely just concerned about what they're doing it's seems so unnecessary and does nothing good for the game.
People who are upset by skimpy outfits aren't suddenly going to buy the game and be interested because they smear black paint over the chest or add fog effects...
I don't understand who the target audience for this is, and people who like the outfits to begin with will just find it irritating and off-putting :/...

I want DoA7 to succeed this is one of my favorite franchises but I don't think this is productive for the game or has any positive effect at all quite the opposite in fact.
It doesn't even make any sense considering how the DoA7 reveal trailer ends.

As a SF6 player, I have been searching for another fighter to go along with it. DoA has always caught my eye but with the new project announcement now I’m really interested. But the game cannot make the same boneheaded mistakes as the past games.

DoA7 needs to hit the ground running and come out of the gates swinging. The 2 biggest things the game must absolutely nail AT LAUNCH is the online and single player content.

Online has to be strong and well developed. They cannot fuck this up. Rollback netcode and cross play are a must and shouldn’t even be a question. Lobbies and matchmaking just need to be present and functioning from the start. I cannot stress this enough, gamers are so finicky, you get 1 chance before everyone dogpiles and no longer wants to play your game. Even if you can fix it the next day, it’s already too late. It literally just needs to be functioning at launch, that’s all. If the online experience is smooth and flawless at launch, you can ride that good will until the end of the game's lifespan. And for the cherry on top, some kind of battle hub (akin to SF6) would be a fine addition to expand the social aspect of the game.

Single player content needs to be fully fleshed out and engaging. Skimping out on arcade, story, tutorials, and everything else you expect from a fighting game will do nothing but turn people away. Keeping things fresh and having modes for people who just want to enjoy the game alone will go such a long way. Having a rich experience for single player in a fighting game is really not asking for a lot IMO.

I’m not a betting man, but if Team Ninja can deliver on these two things + everything we all love about DoA, there is not doubt in my mind DoA7 could be the next big fighting game and the shot in the arm the franchise needs. I really hope they learn from their past mistakes, and the mistakes of other fighting games *cough 2xko *cough, because this franchise and its fans deserve better.

I thought that was a wonderful idea and I wanted to follow that."

Overall, Koei Tecmo has toned down the sexualisation of female characters Dead or Alive is known for. Shimbori said this was done for two reasons: the first relates to the "global trend" for sexualisation to be toned down, "so everyone can play without being embarrassed."
