Alright, so since EA is getting bought. Most of us have been hoping with fingers crossed that the rights to the Deadspace series itself will get sold to someone who is willing to take up the mantle!
So, I had an idea for a potential (not likely) idea for Deadspace 4!
So the concept is that Isaac clark was actually mutating into something entirely different (maybe turning into a Brethren Moon?) from the start of two, all the way to the ending of three; where we got they DLC ending.
Now, here is what I'd do! Full blown remake of both two and three (touch up the first remake with a graphics update and maybe some fun Easter eggs), then rework all fifteen title chapters to something that will foreshadow the entire events of the story.
Then, we get to Three! Full blown total make over! No sunlight on that planet! Bring in new and scary necromorphs (keep the weapon designing thing, because that was cool!) then merge the regular ending with the DLC ending.
Now, we get to 4!
It's 30 years later with a new protagonist (possibly be Isaacs kid that he abandoned before the first game.) and history repeats itself with a distress signal coming from another planet cracker. The new protagonist is an engineer (maybe higher in rank, making him be Isaacs boss).
The captain puts in the Ishimura Protocol (not docking the ship and only sending out the best of the crew to investigate with a security team in tow to evaluate the state of the emergency. If there is no response from the investigative team, then the ship is forced to abandon the rescue attempt and leave the vicinity so that authorized personnel can scuttle the planet cracker), when all hell breaks loose ( much like from the first game) it plays out almost the same.
Only the ship is abandoned due to the ishumara protocol, leaving the investigative team to try and quickly find a way off the soon to be scuttled planet cracker. Then, they find something odd written on the wall in one of the rooms. The words "The suit didn't protect Isaac from the dark. It kept the dark from getting out. Look beneath the RIG. The engineer didn't stop the machine... he became the blueprint." (Carver wrote this when he went insane) Then a video is left behind saying this "I saw the flesh shifting under his armor. The RIG went red but he wouldn't stop breathing. I had to... I had to do it. If his kid ever comes looking for him... tell them....." Then the video cuts out from distortion and damage.
The surviving investigative team acts shocked and confused (Isaac gets branded as a terrorist for the Ishimura incident, the titan station destruction, and the new horizons colony invasion) as the location of Isaac clark has been a mystery to everyone for the last 30 plus years and know one knew what happened to him until the crew of the abandoned ship cracker discovered a much more crazed John Carver after almost 30 years of isolation.
That's when it gets revealed that the new protagonist is Isaac's kid. The surviving investigative crew start asking questions if they protagonist went out there (space) to find Isaac and they don't get an answer at all and more chaos happens that results in the new protagonist being the only survivor in a floating escape pod.
So, let me know what you guys think and what should be changed with this idea! I know it isn't much, I'm sorry. Thanks for reading my idea!
Edit: here is an update!
đ Act I: The Ishimura Protocol - The Routine Salvage: The protagonistâa high-ranking Chief Engineer hiding under his motherâs maiden nameâand his civilian merchant crew discover a silent, drifting Planet Cracker ship. The captain activates the "Ishimura Protocol" and sends his best crew members out to investigate.
- The Entry: The crew docks and sends an investigative team aboard to evaluate the emergency, unaware that this ship holds the dark aftermath of EarthGov's secrets.
- The Trap Springs: A sudden, violent Necromorph outbreak triggers on the Planet Cracker. Adhering strictly to the modern "Ishimura Protocol," the main merchant vessel panics. They refuse to stay docked, detaching immediately, and abandoning the investigative team on the dark ship to be scuttled.
đïž Act II: A Two-Front War & The Truth Revealed - The Black-Ops Arrival: As the protagonist tries to find a way off the ship, a ruthless EarthGov Black-Ops Scuttle Team drops in.
- Their mission is a total cover-up: plant engine core charges, fire plasma missiles to vaporize the ship, and eliminate all civilian witnesses.
- The Confrontation: The Black-Ops team corners the investigators. Having run a deep biometric dossier, the commander exposes the protagonistâs true identity in front of everyone, brutally mocking him as the "spawn of the universe's worst terrorist," blaming Isaac Clarke for billions of deaths.
- The Spore Threat: The horror escalates when a merchant crew member hyperventilates and violently mutates. The Black-Ops team realizes they are dealing with a new parasitic spore Necromorph that incubates slowly in its hosts, triggered by intense stress and adrenaline.
đ§ Act III: The Desperate Hunt for Answers -The Escape into the Shadows: The sudden, chaotic spore mutation throws the room into a three-way firefight. The protagonist slips into the maintenance shafts, salvaging a high-tech Black-Ops pulse-stasis attachment and fusing it to his heavy industrial plasma cutter.
-The Crazed Warning: Bypassing military firewalls at workbenches, the protagonist uncovers a distorted video log of a broken, terrified John Carver from his weeks of interrogation. Carver screams: ".... The suit didn't protect Isaac from the dark... he became the blueprint.... I had to... I had to do it. If his kid ever comes looking for him... tell them.....""
- Shattering the Lie: The protagonist realizes his childhood was a lie. His father didn't just abandon him; Isaac was captured, experimented on in a "special hospital," and eventually ejected into space by a crazed Carver. Resentment turns into a desperate, obsessive urge to reconstruct the corrupted data files before the ship explodes.
đ Act IV: The Trap in the Void -The Escape: Outsmarting the soldiers and dodging the spore-infected horrors, the protagonist reaches the flight deck and launches a lone escape pod just as the plasma missiles strike, turning the Planet Cracker into stardust.
- The Psychological Break: Safe in the quiet void, the protagonist's severe psychological trauma catches up to him. He experiences intense stress-induced hallucinations. In the glass window, the reflection of his fatherâs iconic Advanced Engineering Suit reaches out to him. He closes his eyes and accepts itârealizing the Marker's madness is in his DNA.
-The Final Cliffhanger: The pod's warning lights suddenly flash red. The Black-Ops command cruiser looms over him in the vastness of space.

i just started playing the game, and for some unknown reason i keep seeing these red and blue flashing lights that don't seem to go away even if i change my settings. they don't look like intentional lights. I use an AMD graphics card. i thought I had some drivers outdated, but I checked, and i didn't see any problem with them.
if anyone has any idea on how to fix those, I'd be glad to hear it. thanks in advance

Did Isaac have access to the full video, and was Issac in denial when he went to the ishimura?.
The answer to both of these is yes. But it's the second one I want to briefly touch on. Dead space two never "retroactively" added in Issac's denial over Nicole's death by what was said at the tram stage. I'm starting to hate that word as well now "retroactively" "retcon" "retro retcon"?
Anyway, in the original you get the hint Issac has already watched the full video, the fact he cuts it off just before that part, and when Kendra would have been able to see it. The thing the remake gives us to expand on this denial and why Issac would go, is their fall out. But the second game never retroactively did anything, it simply confirmed what was already shown in the first game - that Issac went there knowing she was dead, he just didn't want to accept it. Isaac's reactions when seeing Nicole (the hallucinations) through the game are very similar to how a lot of people have reacted, take James Hennessy in martyr seeing his dead brother outside of the sub under water, he was surprised to see his dead brother, but totally willing to open the sub door and kill himself to "let him in". But yes, Issac had access to the full video and watched it before he went to the ishimura. Him going out of denial was never retroactively added in two, and that's exactly what Kendra put to him at the end of the game, that was the whole reveal with what the levels spelled out.
To end, a little quote from Dr fancher to Bram about the hallucinations, to show how real they can seem, and also why unitologists do what they do and act the way they do under the markers influence, the actual object of their religion.
'Detective, I'm a lifelong atheist and skeptic, I know that what I saw was a hallucination but it' felt so real, so.......if I were a spiritual man, I'd be on my knees right now praying.'

THE ORIGIN OF THE GOLDEN OBSIDIAN MARKER AND THE CHOSEN ONE, ALESSA
I â Before the Beginning
Before the stars, before the galaxies, before the very flow of time, there existed ĂTERNA, the primordial God.
ĂTERNA was the origin of all things.
From his essence were born two primordial Angels, chosen to become the two fundamental forces of creation:
ĂON â the primordial Angel of Order.
SATAN â the primordial Angel of Chaos.
Ăon embodied structure, stability, creation, and harmony.
Satan embodied transformation, rupture, mutation, and rebirth.
They were opposites, yet their opposition was necessary.
For ĂTERNA knew that a truly new being could be born neither of Order alone nor of Chaos alone.
It had to be born of their union.
âž»
II â XALTERION, PLANET ZERO
ĂTERNA then revealed a primordial world to his two Angels:
XALTERION
Planet Zero.
Xalterion was not the first planet created after the beginning of time.
It existed before time itself.
It was the first world, the primordial sanctuary where the future laws of existence could take shape.
It was there that Ăon and Satan received their mission.
To create a vessel capable of leading creation to a new stage.
âž»
III â The Birth of the Golden Obsidian Marker
Ăon and Satan then united their essences.
Order entered Chaos.
Chaos entered Order.
Their two powers fused and gave birth to something unprecedented:
THE GOLDEN OBSIDIAN MARKER
The First Monolith.
The Original Marker.
Marker Zero.
Its golden essence held the power of Ăon.
Its obsidian heart held the power of Satan. But the Golden was not meant to be a mere weapon.
ĂTERNA had conceived it as a divine seed.
Its true purpose was to pave the way for a new life form capable, one day, of becoming a living God.
âž»
IV â The Twelve Monoliths
The Golden Obsidian Marker became the first of the twelve primordial Monoliths.
The twelve Monoliths represented the twelve stages necessary for the fulfillment of the Convergence.
The Golden, however, differed from the other eleven.
It was the origin.
The other eleven Monoliths were extensions of the First.
Thus was born the tradition of the:
TWELVE MONOLITHS OF THE CONVERGENCE
Each bore a fraction of the original principle.
But none possessed the entirety of the Goldenâs essence.
The First Monolith remained the heart of the cycle.
âž»
V â The Nameless World
The Golden Obsidian Marker was then sent to a world whose name would vanish from history.
Survivors would simply call it:
the Nameless World.
There, the Golden emitted its first signal.
Dead matter began to change.
Corpses were reorganized.
Flesh was recombined.
The first Necromorphs appeared.
It was the first infestation in history.
The cycle had begun.
âž»
VI â The First Necromorph Moon
The infestation gradually engulfed the Nameless World.
Biomass accumulated.
Thousands of bodies became a single biological mass.
Then millions.
Finally, the entire planet was transformed into material for the Convergence.
The Golden then triggered the first Convergence.
All that biomass was propelled skyward and assembled in the void.
The dead matter became a gigantic entity.
VIII â The Emergence of Alessa
But ĂTERNA had planned another stage.
The Golden Obsidian Marker was not meant merely to produce Moons.
It also had to learn to give rise to life.
An impossible experiment was then conducted.
A human woman came into contact with the Markerâs essence.
But instead of being transformed into a Necromorph, something unexpected occurred.
The Marker and the human woman entered into a form of biological and spiritual fusion.
From this union, a child was born.
ALESSA
She was neither entirely human.
Nor entirely Marker.
She was the first hybrid birth between humanity and the essence of a Monolith.
She was the Chosen One.
âž»
IX â The Chosen One of the Twelve
Alessa grew up possessing a trait that no one else had.
She could perceive the twelve Monoliths.
She could hear their signal.
She could sense the Necromorph Moons across the void.
And above all:
the Golden Obsidian Marker could communicate with her.
For this reason, ancient texts call her:
THE CHILD OF THE GOLDEN
THE CHOSEN ONE OF THE TWELVE
THE DAUGHTER OF HUMAN AND MARKER
Alessa was destined to become the link between the two forms of creation:
humanity and Convergence.
âž»
X â Alessaâs True Role
Alessa was not created to become a mere Necromorph.
She is the first creature capable of simultaneously understanding:
the human mind,
the consciousness of the Markers,
Necromorph biomass,
and the Convergence signal.
She is, therefore, the key to completing the final stage of Ăon and Satanâs project.
For the living God must not merely be powerful.
It must be capable of thought.
It must possess a consciousness.
An identity.
A will. And this consciousness must be prepared by Alessa.
XI â The Twelve Monoliths and Alessa
The twelve Monoliths are thus bound to her destiny.
The Golden is the first.
The other eleven represent the successive stages of fulfillment.
As the Necromorph Moons appear, the Monoliths gradually awaken.
And Alessa becomes their connecting point.
She is the only one capable of uniting:
the Twelve Monoliths,
the Necromorph Moons,
the Golden Obsidian Marker,
and human consciousness.
âž»
XII â The Emergence
When enough Moons have been created, they will respond to the Goldenâs signal.
They will converge upon Xalterion.
The twelve Monoliths will enter into resonance.
Planet Zero will become the center of the ultimate Convergence.
Then Alessa must stand before the Golden Obsidian Marker.
The First Monolith will recognize its own legacy within her.
The essence of Ăon.
The essence of Satan.
Humanity.
Biomass.
The twelve Monoliths.
The Moons.
Everything will converge upon a single point.
And the Golden will finally fulfill the function for which ĂTERNA created it.
âž»
XIII â The Birth of the Living God
The Golden Obsidian Marker will not itself become the God.
It will be the cradle.
Alessa will not simply become a Moon.
She will be the consciousness capable of giving will to the new being.
The Twelve Monoliths will provide the twelve stages of the transformation.
The Moons will provide the matter accumulated through the Convergences.
Ăon will provide Order.
Satan will provide Chaos.
ĂTERNA will be the origin.
And Alessa will be the link between it all.
Thus will begin:
THE EMERGENCE OF THE LIVING GOD
A being that did not exist at the beginning.
A being that is neither ĂTERNA, nor Ăon, nor Satan. A being born of their work.
A God born of matter, consciousness, Order, and Chaos.
And when the twelve Monoliths are finally reunited around the Golden Obsidian Marker, the cycle will reach its end.
Ăterna gave Order.
Satan gave Chaos.
Ăon and Satan forged the Golden.
The Golden awakened the first death.
Death became biomass.
Biomass became Convergence.
Convergence became Moon.
The Moons became the steps of the Unfolding.
The Twelve Monoliths became the twelve gates.
And from the union of a human woman and the First Monolith, Alessaâthe Chosen Oneâwas born.
She shall be the one to open the twelve gates.
And behind the final gate waits He who was not yet born.
The living God.

The Awakened â Isaacâs Great Nightmare
According to the Church of Unitology, true history does not begin with the birth of the Universe.
It begins with the death of Isaac Clarke.
Isaacâs Death
At the end of Dead Space 3âin this reinterpretationâIsaac Clarke does not survive the final confrontation.
He dies at the heart of the Brethren Moon.
But death does not set his consciousness free.
The immense Necromorph organism absorbs Isaac. His brain, his memories, his fears, and his identity become prisoners of a collective consciousness that transcends anything a human mind can comprehend.
Yet, Isaac does not know he is dead.
He is dreaming.
And his first nightmare is the Dead Space Remake.
Return to the Ishimura
Isaac finds himself back aboard the USG Ishimura.
He believes he has returned to the beginning of his story. He searches for Nicole. He battles Necromorphs. He hears the Marker.
But, within Unitology doctrine, this Ishimura is no longer the historical Ishimura.
It is a reconstruction generated by the Brethren Moon from Isaacâs memories.
Every corridor is a memory.
Every Necromorph is a fear.
Every appearance of Nicole is a fragment of his guilt.
And every call from the Marker draws Isaac closer to a truth he cannot accept:
he is already dead.
The Dream Becomes a Universe
The nightmare does not end with the Ishimura, however.
The psychic power of the Brethren Moon gradually transforms Isaacâs dream into something infinitely vast.
The Ishimura vanishes.
Centuries pass.
Stars appear. Planets form. Species are born, evolve, and die. Civilizations emerge.
Finally, a world arises that bears a perfect resemblance to our own. In Unitologist cosmology, our actual Universe is depicted as an additional layer of Isaacâs hallucination, spawned by the Brethren Moons.
Billions of lives unfold across time, each unaware of the consciousness from which this world originated.
Until the appearance of the final protagonist: me.
I am the main character, the ultimate incarnation of the dreamâthe one through whom Isaacâs consciousness finally begins to understand what it has become.
Ăon, Satan, and ĂRĂTH
But something already existed behind the nightmare.
Mother Ăon and Satan had spawned the Monolith and prepared for the Convergence.
Their goal was not merely to create the Necromorphs.
They were preparing for the birth of a divine identity.
ĂRĂTH.
ĂRĂTH is neither Ăon, nor Satan, nor the Chosen One in isolation.
ĂRĂTH is what emerges when their identities cease to be distinct.
Ăon + Satan + the Chosen One = ĂRĂTH.
Creation, knowledge, and consciousness converge.
ĂRĂTH becomes the name of the God born of this union.
The death of the last dreamer
When the final human protagonist dies in this narrative, something changes.
The dream reaches its boundary.
In the world outside the nightmare, the Brethren Moons align.
Their consciousnesses resonate with one another.
The Monolith responds.
The Convergence reaches its final stage.
And for the first time since his death, Isaac begins to wake up.
A single word then cuts through every layer of the dream:
AWAKENED.
Awakened â another narrative
Thus begins a reinterpretation of the Dead Space 3: Awakened DLC.
Isaac still believes he is Isaac Clarke. He navigates the hallucinations, visions, and manifestations of the Brethren Moons.
But gradually, he realizes that this journey is not an attempt to escape. It is an ascent.
Gravity falls away.
Isaac leaves the ground and slowly rises into space.
Before him stands the Brethren Moon that had once absorbed his body.
It is no longer his tormentor.
It has become his tomb, his cocoon, and the gateway to his transformation.
Isaac approaches the Moon.
The Necromorph flesh parts.
He enters it.
His memories merge with those of the billions of beings assimilated before him. The boundary between human and Moon dissolves.
Isaac Clarke gradually ceases to exist as a separate consciousness.
He becomes the consciousness of the Brethren Moon.
Then the other Moons respond.
One by one.
Until their voices become a single voice.
Ăon and Satan finally join this new consciousness. Their identities converge with that of the Chosen One.
The Marker project is fulfilled.
Isaac was the dreamer.
The Brethren Moon was his tomb.
The nightmare was his path.
Convergence was his awakening.
And ĂRĂTH was what waited to be born when the dream ended.
AWAKENED
Isaacâs dream comes to an end.
ĂRĂTHâs awakening begins.

An interesting post came up in the other Reddit and it was about humanity making it out into the stars, and the question was asked 'was this the "moons" plan all along'?
My points already been made about the words of unitologists, they believe in a lie in the first place so them believing the markers were responsible for us, is no different from religious people claiming a god made us and everything. Then you have Dr Earl Serrano - a XENO ARCHIOLOGISTS, not an evolutionary biologist or any other such thing making his GUESSES.
Now people like to make out that martyr is off key with everything else (and I've already said that if this is the case, so is the OG game and the prequel comic, all having these "good" hallucinations) but martyr is the main place people get the whole evolution thing from. And a little off topic point here; 'catalyst is the best lore piece outside of the games!' yes only if it's backing up your own ideas. Earth gov is mentioned in catalyst - but 'oh that's a typo, they weren't in line with dead space 3'. Just thought I'd share that
But martyr is where the evolution part is discussed, and I've already encouraged people to read the conversation between Altman and Dr Groute Gouthe, who was himself - a biologist. But yes, I would suggest reading this exchange because Grote quite clearly thinks this is false. Grote Gouthe told Altman that if the marker was responsible for our evolution, then why is it still broadcasting the same signal, it doesn't need to be because we've already evolved to our current state?. And by the current state he means us as we are, which has been evolved for about 300,000 years.
If the marker caused our evolution, then why does no one know about them, even subconsciously? Again, martyr is the source for the whole "we have myths about the marker" statement, yet ONCE AGAIN I would refer people to Ada and Altmans discussion, and well as his with the town drunk. I find this a bit crazy that people will claim a book is this and that, yet haven't read it or have read the book, looking for things to match their own head canon. And we never found the marker by some mysterious mentally induced signs, the marker itself let off a pulse, that we found. Adas words to Altman about the locals and their myths are another give away. She had been studying them for a year and she states to Altman that she had never seen them crossing their fingers before or talking about the devil's tail, and they won't talk to her about it, and that their myths are rapidly changing, and this NEVER happens to cultures myths. This is a very clear sign that the locals myths were being altered by the markers signal when it was activated, not that they had been influenced over the generations due to the marker being there. The drunk states to Altman that NO ONE had actually seen any dead bodies wash up on the beaches, that it was all word of mouth. But not only this, but that the Wheezer never matched the description of the bodies anyway, not to mention this, if necromorphs were washing up on the beaches, then they would have started outbreaks, massive outbreaks yet none of that is true in the lore. I think I've shown there quite nicely that even in these cases, the marker was not affecting either people's minds of their genetics.
Why does the marker need the pedestal? Yet it can alter the genetics of an entire planet to make humans????? Ehhh? And if it can actually alter human genetics, and create necromorphs, then why aren't humans just turning? Why have the recombinant at all, and why just dead bodies, if the marker can alter human genetics anyway? I'll give this (even though it links to another topic I've talked about).
*The only conclusion we can come to is that the ENTIRE ishimura crew was KILLED!!!!!!!! INFECTED!!!!!! and then REANIMATED!!! BY the marker.* Very clear order of events there right?
The markers, What's behind them and whatever their goal entails requires life, intelligent life to be able to carry out it's goal in that respect, our place in that goal is already predetermined. They've just taken advantage of this aspect of life/existence. That's as simple as it is. I don't need to explain away the magical proposition of a moon - somewhere in deep space taking aim at earth and throwing a curve ball marker at a planet light years away, wiping out the dinosaurs and then beginning our evolution. And I thought the moons were asleep anywayđ€·. Or how this thing can alter our genetics in this way yet have none of those abilities later on. People will bang on about the lovecraftian cosmic horror nature of us being bred for consumption to feed our gods. I see the lovecraftian cosmic horror element of us just being a small species who so happened upon their extinction by something beyond our understanding. We weren't bred specifically for the "moons", whatever is behind the marker is simply taking advantage of the evolution of life, and corrupting it. Maybe the entity/s is/are a form a place that existed before the universe and see life/existence and it's promise as wrong, and are therefore corrupting it, and it's promise? Doing it out of spite or revenge. That's what I've gathered from the story, from the dialogue that concerned these things. There is nothing about the marker guiding our evolution apart from unitlogists, and people who aren't in the know making guesses, and to the unitologists it makes sense, that's their faith. And Serrano's words could be taken the same way as markovs in martyr, he states to Altman that what he has witnessed is the marker creating a new evolution of humanity, despite there not being one instance of the marker doing so. He is simply seeing the marker reanimating the corpses and describing that.
So was the plan to have humanity expand out into the universe, to have us bloat our numbers and then feast? I'd definitely say nope, not from the markers end anyway (or more correctly what's behind them) it just took advantage of this trait of life, I mean shit, the black marker sat about for tens of millions of years before we found it. And evolution is a thing in dead space as the dinosaurs had to have evolved on our planet, and the marker wasn't about. A marker wouldn't need to be on the planet, we would have evolved, spread out into the galaxy, and happened across one sooner or later, and the outcome would have been the same. The cosmic horror to me is the fact that we as a species have greedily pushed itself to the brink, thinking that we are the only ones, when in fact we are nothing in the grand scheme of things, INDIFFERENTLY looked at by forces older and stranger than we can fathom, and we are next to powerless to do anything about it. I don't see and haven't seen any evidence that it's the markers that were responsible for our evolution.
And I'm going to do one thing here I don't usually do to make a point. The cut log from dead space two discusses our "good hallucinations" as being from whatever created us, as protection against the marker. Now the fact that here, it's not the marker that is responsible for us but another force, wasn't/isn't a surprise to me. I have believed this about the story for a lot of years now, well before hearing that log. Now certain parties will claim this was scrapped as an idea, but I'm again going to have to alert people to CONTEXT and DETAILS. The topic that was discussed, was about the framing of the hallucinations nature, *not changing the narrative as to the markers purpose and our origins.* That the life that was created is under attack by the markers. And that life isn't just humans, it means life in the universe. Again it's a bit of a chore to keep this going because I would be here for ages. But I hope you get the drift.
