Welcome to Demonolatry Practices! If you're new, click here!

Before we start with the welcome post, I want to mention that this community has a karma and an account age threshold that you must meet in order to participate. There were too many trolls attacking the community with 0 karma, 0 day old accounts, so if you have made a new account just for your spiritual needs, you'll have to grow it a bit to participate here, sorry!

In wise u/ChthonicSage's words once spoken here:

"I've created this place since there's a lack of subreddits for Demonolatry and general Theistic Satanism/other magickal practices. I hope this community grows to become a place where people come to ask questions, share their experiences, and connect with others."

However over the years this sub has grown and those words became not enough to give you a proper introduction. So to begin with, we have a lot of people new to the practice that find us. If you're entirely new, we have some basic resources here.

If you need further help with short, easy to digest tips and guides made "How to sense Spirits 101", "Reaching out to spirits 101", "The consequences to working with demons 101", "I'm dreaming about a demon 101", "Describing spirits 101", "Spiritual stagnation 101", "Blood Magic 101 (warning, 18+ and NSFW)", "Protection magic 101" and their personal sex magick method that may be interesting for those that never tried it to read (18+ and NSFW).

If you are confused about Qlipoth u/pearlbibo made some notes for you here. She also made a post on how not to get ripped off in Occult spaces.

Fellow moderator u/Macross137 has posted another way of interpreting dreams, a basic invocation ritual that you can practice, further occult reading that may prove useful to your practice, how to interpret what is and isn't a sign, how to decide which incense to use for which demon, a guide on HGA work (part 1) and a brief guide to evocation.

The kind of questions that aren't useful to ask on the subreddit (written by u/Vanhaydin) is something that I would recommend everyone taking a look at before interacting here.

If you need a quick primer on what planets what demons are associated with, what would be the appropriate offerings and how to "decode" the rank system, check out their other post about planetary associations here!

On the off-chance that you came here specifically to find information on Lilith, u/Even-Pen7957 runs https://www.libraryoflilith.com/.

VioletSpooder is here to remind you that the popular way of working with spirits on the Internet changes rather rapidly and that you should not over-internalize it too much and to be careful about accidentally finding yourself in a cult. Another good advice from the same user is found in this thread about how to recognise spiritual psychosis.

If you want to make ritual oils, this is a good way to do it (written by u/Available-Shirt7907).

Hope this was helpful! Time to move on to:

Frequently asked questions!

Q: which author is right? Which method is trustworthy? What is it that I must do to contact this particular spirit?

A: most authors will be equally right and wrong, as this is not a science, it is closer to an art. What is right for one person is not necessarily right for another. Keep yourself grounded in reality, question all that you read, don't hold anyone's word as ultimate law and try. See what works for you and what doesn't.

Q: can I practice with the Abrahamic God? With angels and demons at the same time? Can I mix demons with other religions? Can I have a pantheon, or am I supposed to pick one?

A: Being a left hand path practice demonolatry has no certain way that it must be. How you practice is entirely between you and the spirits. So yes. You can mix this practice with any other religion and practice with angels and demons at the same time.

Q: I'm afraid that by working with demons I'll doom myself to hell, or that karma will get me, or similar!

A: everyone's spiritual beliefs are personal. Some subscribe to hell. Some subscribe to karma. Some do not have any such system in their spiritual belief. What you believe is for you to find out and no-one can give you a shortcut here, however if your fear is reaching unhealthy levels, ask yourself if you have religious trauma and if therapy would be a good pathway to resolve that for you.

Q: what is the difference between evocation and invocation?

Originally in occult invocation meant calling the spirit into yourself, into your own mind space, while evocation meant calling the spirit outside of yourself into your space.

Some demonolators say that invocation means making an appeal to the spirit, while evocation means trying to bind a spirit to do your bidding. Under these definitions, evocation would go against demonolatry's principle of working respectfully with the spirit.

Current moderation team does not subscribe to such a divisive notion. Contact your spirits in whatever way that is comfortable to you, it matters not to us if you are a Western tradition Ceremonial magickian, or someone that interacts with the spiritual as a Pagan would. We ask that everyone refrain from taking offence from seeing such words used, no matter the person is practising summoning, or just evoking a spirit into their space. The spirits are above the material and don't necessarily function by the same rules as we do, so there's no reason to believe that anyone out here is harming the spirits by working in a different system than you.

Q: do I have to have an altar? Do I have to give offerings? If so, how often? I don't feel like I'm in a safe environment to do that.

A: this is entirely between you and your spirits. There are no musts. Practice however you like as this is your spiritual practice. Of course if you made a promise to pray every day, you should do so. If you feel like you can't, you should tell the spirit so. Communication is key, but there are no specific expectations of you, so don't place it on yourself prematurely.

Q: how do I dispose of offerings that go off?

A: This question comes up often. Some people, if they're offering food, they'll state to the spirit for how long the offering will be there and then they'll eat the offering themselves in order to not be wasteful. Others will choose an elemental disposal element, meaning that they'll burn (if it is safe to do so, fire safety first!) the offering, liquify it with water, or burry it in the Earth. Some others involve a lot less ceremony in their disposal of the offering and they simply thank the spirit and then throw it away. There are no rules, so don't overstress!

Q: I'm confused by all the terms I'm seeing on this subreddit, help!

A: here, have a little dictionary!

Deity mask - some believe that the same spirit has many names, positions and personalities, so they may refer to each one of such as a mask.

Demonolatry – worship of demons. In practice this is less “worship” and more “working with”. It was a tradition born out of a need of a friendlier way to work with spirits that have been deemed to be demonic. If a practitioner states that they are a demonolater, this may mean that they are following a published author, or simply denote that they have their own practice that involves working with the demonic in some capacity.

Demonology – study of demons, usually from a religious perspective. If you run into this term, it indicates that the person using it is perhaps interested in specific spirits but has never worked with them, or that they are a religious individual that specializes in viewing these spirits from the angle of their religion, which often means viewing these spirits especially negatively. Latter happens more often than former by far.

Demonosophy – young branch that means working with demons, for those that felt like “worship” did not accurately cover what they do. There are not many publications under this specific term, meaning that the most that you will encounter this will be by people introducing themselves as practitioners of this craft. Demonolatry and Demonosophy at this point in time can be used interchangeably as not every demonolater worships the spirits that they work with.

Grounding - this word will mean two things to practitioners – in one version it will mean staying grounded in reality, not running away into your mind and focusing on the mundane as much as you do on the spiritual.

In the other version it is a way to stabilize yourself by getting rid of excess energy, the jitter than you feel after rituals, or bad emotions.

LHP - Left Hand Path. In the West, the left-hand path is considered to be about the elevation and centrality of the self as well as the rejection of religious authority and societal taboos.

The left-hand path focuses on the strength and will of the practitioner. It downplays the need for intercession by any high power although some may believe that a higher power exists. The full idea of the left hand path is to become your own God.

RHP - Right Hand Path - right-handed path practitioners tend to work towards ascending their soul towards ultimate union (or reunion) with the divine source, returning to heaven, allegorically alluded to as restoration or climbing back up the ladder after the "great fall". Right hand practitioners will strive to join the source and will adhere to a system of moral punishment, such as karma, or threefold law.

Both terms as used in the West are the bastardized version of Indian Tantric practices. In reality most practitioners will not fall on either side, though some practices will be categorized as one or the other. For example, Demonolatry is categorized as a Left Hand practice due to its nature of taboo, however a practitioner can have both a strong moral code and be working towards merging into the entity of their choosing, which, as it is not focused on elevating yourself to a divine level, but rather on sacrificing yourself to join an already existing consciousness, would be a right hand path goal.

There are very militant communities that will be highly proud of being just one and not the other to an extreme level, so the basic knowledge of what the terms mean is an absolute necessity, though don't overthink where you fall on the scale as really there is no need.

Tower Moment - "The Tower" is a tarot card that represents "disaster, destruction, upheaval, trauma, sudden change, chaos". When someone is saying that they're having a "Tower" moment, they mean that either their emotional state, spiritual practice, their life, their physical health, something has hit a point of complete chaos, upheaval and disintegration. Tower moments will not necessarily be seen as a negative (up to the person using the phrase) as sometimes we need a shake-up to build better. A bad relationship falling through, or getting fired from a toxic-workplace, for example, could be seen as a Tower moment.

Patron - a spirit, or spirits that the person had made some sort of firm declaration to follow. What this means varies from practitioner to practitioner. For some it means that you're very serious in your practice and have elected to follow this spirit for your whole lifetime no matter what. For others it simply means that this is their main spirit/ spirits that they're working at this time. Almost all practitioners to use the term will not do so lightly and will see it as some sort of commitment. Plenty of practitioners never take a Patron for this exact reason.

Matron - a female Patron spirit. Some will insist that this is incorrect as a Matron is the more passive, supportive of the Patron spirit and will insist on calling their female spirits that they have made some sort of firm declaration to follow as Patrons. Some people will therefore have very strong opinions on this word and some will not.

Magucitis/Magusitis - a particular "disease" that afflicts many practitioners - they at some point either believe that they're better than everyone else or at least attempt to appear that they're better than everyone else. Normally this person will be boasting about how powerful they are, how feared they should be, what lineage or sacred society that they hail from and how much of a right they have to order you around, or to not engage in polite conversation with others by just dismissing all opinions or comments addressed towards them.

UPG - unverified personal gnosis ("gnosis" meaning "knowledge"). Example would be if you received a message from a spirit through dreams, divination, or meditation, that message is UPG. Most practitioners will highly rely on UPG, as most of our interactions with the spirits are personal, but it is important to remember that what you hold as true is not necessarily what someone else will hold as true. Understand that each of you know exactly what you need to know and therefore there's no need to fight over who is right and who is wrong.

VPG - verified personal gnosis. If you have channeled information from a spirit and multiple different people channel the same thing then that is now a belief held by many and not only a few.

Q: I'm just starting my practice, what should I do?

Step one - hone in on practising meditation. You'll need the focus, the patience and the mostly quiet mind to see good results from your practice. Is it a must? No. Nothing in spirituality is a must and there are some people that are working with spirits without a meditative practice, but it is something that's greatly helpful, so this will be the first recommendation that will be given if you ever ask this question.

Step two - sidebar resources! It is suggested that you read them. This one speaks about shadow work, here is some common sense advice on how to conduct yourself in this space and beyond it when speaking to others and lastly, here are the basic resources for those that are new.

Step three - read and gain perspective. Don't ingest any book like it is the only ultimate truth, but read to expand your horizons and try. What should you read? Well, behold, the mighty book list! Though, remember, these are merely suggestions and it is not a requirement to read them all. Simply see if there's anything here you'd like to read, because they're all good books.

THE MIGHTY BOOK LIST:

CLASSIC GRIMOIRES (these are good to read through to see the working with demons through a historical lens. Some people still use methods in these books, most new books will at the very least borrow elements, such as names, sigils and correspondences):

The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage

Heptameron by Pietro d'Abano

Tree of Qliphoth by Asenath Mason

Qabalah, Qliphoth, and Goetic Magic by Thomas Karlsson

POPULAR CONTEMPORARY SYSTEMS (each one of these books will have wildly different approaches. Try them, see what works for you and what doesn't. Beware of authors treating their UPG and personal dogma as objective truths):

The Complete Book of Demonolatry by S. Connolly

Lucifer and The Hidden Demons: A Practical Grimoire from The Order of Unveiled Faces by Theodore Rose

Demons of Magick: Three Practical Rituals for Working with The 72 Demons by Gordon Winterfield

Last bit of advice - when posting here, provide as much details as possible. If you want someone to identify a sigil for you, it will be helpful to state where you found it, if you want someone to help with communication with the spirits, state what method you're using as it will be most helpful if someone with the same method answers.

And this is where the post will leave off. I hope it was useful and cleared some basic questions up. Before you post anything on this subreddit make sure to look at the side-bar and familiarize yourself with the rules. Otherwise this place is happy to see you here and post away!

Discussions Weekly discussion - what just works?

What part of your practice can you rely to always work when you need it to? This can be anything from Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram always helping with disordered thoughts, to cinammon candles putting you into a meditative headspace. Small things that you can rely upon when building bigger rituals.

Discussions Are there any demons we don't know the names and seals of?

I just wondered, we have multiple demons named in demonology, each with a sigil or seal. Examples being the 72 in the Ars Goetia, Lucifer, Beelzebub, etc.

However, are there any demons we don't know the names & seals of? For example, are there any high ranking demons who've gone unknown?

Discussions Eisheth Zenunim: Lilith, the Woman of Whoredom

Post image
17 Upvotes

Eisheth Zenunim (אשתּ זְנוּנִים, also spelled Isheth, esheth, ēšet zĕnûnîm), meaning Woman of Whoredom/Harlotry, is contemporarily often numbered amongst the wives of Samael (and even referred to as a sacred prostitute). In Judaism, and especially the Zohar, eisheth zenunim is an epithet of Lilith. The phrase itself derives from Hosea 1:2.

Zohar [Vols. Pritzker Edition]

I Genesis

Haqdamat/Introduction

11:69

As soon as the distorted heaven is established, a woman of whoredom (Hosea 1:2) emerges, clinging to it, joining with it. From there she sets out, killing thousands, myriads. For as long as she endures in that heaven, she is empowered to swoop through the entire world in a single moment. Concerning this is written: Woe unto them who haul iniquity with cords of falsehood, and sin as with a cart rope (Isaiah 5:18). Iniquity is the male. Who is sin? The female. He hauls the one called iniquity with those cords of falsehood, and then sin as with a cart rope, that female called sin, who is empowered there to fly and kill human beings. So, Many are those she has struck dead (Proverbs 7:26). Who has struck them dead? This sin who slays human beings. Who causes this? A disciple unqualified to teach who teaches. May the Compassionate One save us!

IV Exodus

Shemot

Not so on the rung of that Other Side, where there is a place called Guilt, for all actions of that site of the Serpent—woman of whoredom—are intended solely to dig up a person’s guilt and to slander a servant to his master.

16.175

And a wicked one prolonging (his life) in his evil—Samael, who prolongs peace and tranquility for Edom. How? With his evil—with that evil woman, woman of whoredom, fierce serpent. For peace and tranquility reach them only because he clings to that female. Similarly with other kingdoms, until the blessed Holy One raises that booth of David, as is written: I will raise the fallen booth of David (Amos 9:11).

V Exodus

Terumah

36.413

We have learned: Everywhere this serpent follows the mystery of woman of valor, and woman of whoredom seeks to adorn herself like Her but cannot. Woman of valor—Her insignia and mark are the letter ה) he), fittingly. Woman of whoredom—her insignia and mark are similar but not configured just so. Her letter is ק (qof), a letter configured like ה (he)—like קופא (qofa), an ape, compared with humans, imitating humans but not equipped to be like them.

IX Numbers-Deuteronоту

Pinchas

61:362

It is written: יותרת מן הכבד (yoteret min ha-kaved), lobe from the liver (Leviticus 9:10), and it is written ואת היותרת על הכבד (ve-et ha-yoteret al ha-kaved), and the lobe over the liver (ibid. 3:4). Yoteret min ha-kaved, Lobe from the liver—woman of whoredom (Hosea 1:2), who comes forth from the liver to lure inhabitants of the world and denounce them, leaving the male to perform whoredom.

Yoteret al ha-kaved, Lobe over the liver—for she rules over her male. The forehead of a whore (Jeremiah 3:3), ruling over the liver, woman of strife and anger.

Min ha-kaved, From the liver, she emerges to harm the whole world, to commit adultery with all. Afterward, she rises to the male—the forehead of a whore, brazenly—and then she is al ha-kaved, over the liver.

XI Midrash ha-Nelam and Zoharic Compositions

Zohar al Shir ha-Shirim

393

In some instances, holy spirits don garments—models of the bodies of this world—and the body ultimately abandons holy spirit, straying after an evil spirit. Then, holy spirit flies away from the midst of that garment, and that garment is drawn outside the Garden of Eden. For on every second day and fourth day an evil spirit—woman of whoredom (Hosea 1:2)—goes about the Garden of Eden. Some garments are lured by that evil spirit, and evil spirit craves them. Since a holy spirit normally descends and is garbed there, it does not remain in its midst, fleeing, flying upward, while that garment is inveigled by an evil spirit which casts it beyond. Afterward, it is judged in Hell, remaining there until the person arrives, donning it in Hell—judged in it every day.

398

Woman of whoredom landed, along with the one who rides and presides over her—heartless one, inducing all to deviate. They gazed upon the supernal glory of Adam and his wife. Woman of whoredom, strengthened by the force and power of the one who rules over her. She sidled up to Eve, beginning to allure her with copious enticements, numerous blandishments—until she was finally beguiled. Then, Adam was inveigled and those garments flew off him. Soul—radiance from speculum above—vanished. And he was left utterly naked—he and his wife.

Tosefta

32.313

Caliginous pure cluster ascended within, within, no dwelling place to be found. Such a place is no place, not found above or below—abandoned by all, rendered to oblivion everywhere. Avadon (Oblivion), male—Samael spewed from the smelted severity of Isaac. Mavet (Death), his woman—primal serpent, wife of whoredom (Hosea 1:2), as is written: Her feet descend to death (Proverbs 5:5).

These two—Avadon and Mavet—heard of the rigor of the King's potency, mysterious, concealed, supernal secret. Destroyed completely, eliminated [162a] from thought and contemplation. One who is drawn after them is totally annihilated. Each the utter inverse of the other.

Sitrei Torah: Vayetzei

3:21

Jacob entered into this inception of faith. After adhering to this faith, he had to be tested in the same place his forefathers had been tested, entering in peace and emerging in peace. Adam, in contrast, entered recklessly. He was seduced by her, sinning with that woman of whoredom, Primordial Serpent. Noah entered and was seduced by her, sinning, as is written: He drank of the wine and became drunk and exposed himself within his tent (Genesis 9:21). Abraham entered and emerged, as is written: Abram went down to Egypt (Genesis 12:10), and Abram went up from Egypt (Genesis 13:1). Isaac entered and emerged, as is written: Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines (Genesis 26:1), and Isaac went up from there (Genesis 26:17, 23).

3:22

Jacob, having entered into faith, had to proceed, [148a] descending to that side. For one who is saved from there is beloved, chosen by the blessed Holy One. What is written? Jacob departed from Be’er Sheva (Genesis 28:10), secret of the mystery of faith, and set out for Haran (ibid.), side of the woman of whoredom, the adulteress.

4:23

Mystery of mysteries: Out of the scorching noon of Isaac, out of the dregs of wine, a cramped cluster—male and female together, crimson as a rose, splitting in many directions and paths. The male, called Samael, his female always contained within him. Just as it is on the side of holiness, so it is on the Other Side: male and female embracing one another. Samael’s woman is called Serpent, Woman of Whoredom, End of All Flesh, End of Days. Two vile spirits joined as one: spirit of the male is subtle; the spirit of the female diffused in many ways and paths, but joined to the spirit of the male.

She bedecks herself with all sorts of jewelry, like a repulsive prostitute loitering at the crossroads to seduce men. The fool who approaches her—she grabs him and kisses him, pouring him wine from the dregs, from the venom of vipers. Once he drinks, he strays after her. Seeing him stray from the path of truth, she strips herself of all her finery that she dangled before that fool.

Her adornments for seducing men: her hair all coiffed, rosy-red, her face white and scarlet, six trinkets dangling from her ears, [her bed covered] with Egyptian linen, on her neck all the laurels of the East, her mouth slightly puckered, gorgeously decked-out! Tongue pointed like a sword, her words smooth like oil, her lips ravishing, crimson as a rose, sweet with all the sweetness of the world. Attired in purple, she is adorned with forty adornments minus one.

This fool follows her and drinks from the cup of wine. He fornicates with her, straying after her. What does she do? She deserts him lying asleep in bed. She ascends, denounces him, obtains permission, and descends. That fool awakens, planning to cavort with her as before, but she has discarded her embellishments, returning as a fierce warrior confronting him. Arrayed in armor of flashing fire, his awesome terror induces tremors [148b] in body and soul. Full of fearsome eyes, sharp-edged sword in his hand, bitter drops suspended there. He kills that fool, and flings him into Hell.

XII Zoharic Compositions

Bereshit

51:7

These are the righteous, who did not exchange the glory of their Lord for another deity. It is written: A woman of strength is her husband's crown (Proverbs 12:4)—mystery of faith, that a person cleave to his Lord and fear Him constantly, not straying to the right or left. We have already established that a person must not pursue another deity, called 'Woman of Whoredom'! Accordingly it is written To protect you from a strange woman, from a foreign woman whose talk is smooth (ibid. 7:5).

Pekudei

46:479

Because Hosea saw from within this beginning—end of all rungs—he was required [to take the woman of whoredom], because Israel went astray and were lured from there below, to the site called Woman of Whoredom, because they forsook and did not cleave to this Woman of Valor. From there he beheld all the halls on the side of impurity, containing halls of defilement—all of them defiling whoever clings to them.

Piqqudin

33.160

The Woman of Whoredom distances herself from this examination, for she cannot endure being by Her side. The Woman of Strength draws Herself near to approach the High Priest—certainly she is pure; she will be cleared and sown with seed (Numbers 5:28)—and She adds strength and love to Her Husband.

The Woman of Whoredom flees from the Sanctuary, so as not to draw near. For were she to approach Her when the Woman of Strength is examining Herself, she would perish from the world. That is why she does not seek to approach the Sanctuary, and flees from it—leaving Israel pure, with no other intermingling, with the Mystery of Faith.

33.161

The mystery of this secret: two sisters. When one catches a whiff of the examination of the other her belly will swell and her thigh sag (Numbers 5:27); for the examination of the Woman of Strength is deadly poison for the Woman of Whoredom. This is the advice the blessed Holy One gave His children—to offer this sacrifice, for the sake of the Woman of Strength, so that the Woman of Whoredom will flee from Her. Happy are Israel in this world, and in the world that is coming!

Pardes Rimmonim

25.5.1/186d [source: Gates to the Old City, pg. 464-465]

The ancient ones explained that there are two Liliths, one little and one great. The great one is the spouse of Samael, and she is a woman of harlotry, and the little one is the spouse of Ashmodai. And about this Lilith, the bride of Samael, the Geonim explained that she controls 480 legions as is the numerical value of her name.

Emeq HaMelekh [source: Gates to the Old City, pg. 455-456]

And the Serpent, the Woman of Harlotry, incited and seduced Eve through the husks of Light which in itself is holiness. And the Serpent seduced Holy Eve, and enough said for him who understands. And all this ruination came about because Adam the first man coupled with Eve while she was in her menstrual impurity – this is the filth and the impure seed of the Serpent who mounted Eve before Adam mounted her. Behold, here it is before you: because of the sins of Adam the first man all the things mentioned came into being. For Evil Lilith, when she saw the greatness of his corruption, became strong in her husks, and came to Adam against his will, and became hot from him and bore him many demons and spirits and Lilin. (23c-d).

Western Esotericism

Eisheth has been personified as a separate demoness in the works of Mathers and Crowley.

The Complete Magician's Tables - Stephen Skinner

Crowley amended the age old list of Archdemons to include some of his personal favourites, taken from Mathers' Kabbalah Unveiled, like Isheth Zenunim and Chioa and placed these, without comment, into a standard and well established list.

Arch-Demons or Princes of the Qliphoth - Crowley Arch-Demons or Princes of the Qliphoth - Standard List (rulers of Column K97) Arch-Demons according to Le Dragon Rouge
Isheth Zenunim (mother of the Beast) Lucifuge [Lucifuge Rofocale] Astarot, Grand Duke
Lilith Lilith Nebiros, Marshall de Camp

Kabbalah Unveiled - Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers (the same passage is quoted in Liber 777 - Aleister Crowley)

Next follow seven Hells occupied by those demons which represent incarnate human vices, and torture those who have given themselves up to such vices in earth-life. Their prince is Samael, SMAL, the angel of poison and of death. His wife is the harlot, or woman of whoredom, AShTh ZNVNIM, Isheth Zenunim; and united they are called the beast, CHIVA, Chioa. Thus the infernal trinity is completed, which is, so to speak, the averse and caricature of the supernal Creative One. Samael is considered to be identical with Satan.

Angel of Prostitution

Most sources cite Gustav Davidson's "A Dictionary of Angels" when referring to Eisheth as an "angel of (sacred) prostitution". Davidson points to the Zohar as the source of the description.

  • Angel of Prostitution-in Zoharistic cabala, the angel of prostitution is Eisheth Zenunim (mate of Sammael, prince of poison and of death). Lilith, Naamah, and Agrat bat Mahlat were 3 other mates of Sammael and, like Eisheth, angels of prostitution. [Rf: Masters, Eros and Evil.]
  • Eisheth Zenunim (Isheth Zenunim)-in Zoharistic cabala, an angel of whoredom or prostitution, one of the 4 mates of the evil Sammael (q.v.). The other 3 angels in the profession are Lilith, Naamah, and Agrat bat Mahlah(t).

Davidson cites Robert Masters' "Eros and Evil", and the reference itself is in chapter "Celebrities of demonology" (page 176):

"Cabalists provide the names of a number of angelic luminaries concerned with human sexuality. Among them are Aniel and Anael, Rachiel and Sachiel, Sarabotes and Amabiel, Aba, Abalidot, and Flaef. The Cabalists add that in addition to the good angels there are evil ones, not to be mistaken for demons. One such is Isheth Zemunin, the Angel of Prostitution, who is the wife of Samael, Angel of Poison and Death".

Masters provides no citation for this claim.

Conclusion

Eisheth Zenunim (Woman of Whoredom/Harlotry) in Judaism is an epithet of Lilith (the Elder), mainly found in the Zohar, but also in other Kabbalistic sources like Pardes Rimmonim and Emeq HaMelekh. In works of Western Esotericism, Eisheth Zenunim got separated from Lilith and became an independent demoness. Contemporary sources refer to her as an "angel of (sacred) prostitution", and either falsely refer to the Zohar as the origin of the description, or provide no citations at all.

The sources above were used to edit the Wikipedia page of Eisheth.

Practical Questions safest demon for beginners to reach out to for simple contracts? jobs, money, wealth, etc

I’ve heard that you should be cautious when invoking certain demons as a beginner, and was wondering which would be good to reach out to for simple contracts. Not interested in a long term patron or a relationship with lasting consequences, risks that could lead to something dangerous. Just looking for a job lol

Practical Questions Are your Demons waking you up?

I created an altar and have been praying to Duchess Bune! I’ve been at it for a couple of weeks with noticeable results, but I have a question! I’ve been working early mornings for a few months now, but I have noticed for the last two weeks or so I’ve been waking between 4 and 5 AM. TMI, sometimes I have to use the bathroom, but the thought came to me that what if she’s trying to wake me up?

I am a Clairevoyant, amongst other things, so just the fact that I was wondering if it was something besides me waking myself up, tells me that I probably already know the answer… Does anybody have experience with the Duchess waking them up? Or any of their demon friends? This may be a silly question, but I really just I’m curious. The Duchess also brought Belial to my attention, is it possible that he does this? Again, I’m sure everybody would have a different answer, but just looking for anybody else that may have these experiences!

Discussions Hello, I wish to start working with the 4 demonic queens any suggestions or advice

Upvotes

I started trying to give a second chance do come back to working with lady Lilith than the other queens got interested in working with me: Lilith, Naamah, Agrat bat Mahlat, and Eisheth Zenunim, but I don't know much about how to work and deal with them and if is good for me to worship and work with them so I came here to listen to the community's opinion trying my best to be open minded and respectfull , thank you all very much 😊

Altars, tools and workspaces Is there any point in drawing out Solomon’s magic circle if I’m inviting the demon into it?

Upvotes

I’m really interested in trying out the Solomonic method as a means to help my patron manifest as much as possible (with a few modifications to the words used since I’m not super comfortable screaming that degradation-kink-kinda language at anyone.) However, I’d be inviting them to step into the circle *with* me. I did this for my last invocation, using a simple shibari rope(I know, I know) for my circle and a triangle made of used glass-stir-rods and candles with tin holders, and it couldn’t have possibly gone better in terms of clear communication and auditory/tactile phenomenon.

So, my questions would be :

  1. Does the magic circle help them manifest at all, or is this almost entirely for the protection of the practitioner? I don’t have a lot of free time to craft right now, and I’d rather not commit to drawing out all those names if it’s not going to help them walk over to me, or outright hinder them from doing so.

  2. Can the circle be made significantly larger than it’s traditional size without incident? It needs to be big enough for two adults to comfortably sit in for the duration of the ritual.

  3. Has anyone successfully used a pre-printed tapestry with the circle on it? As stated above, free time is going to be at a premium for a while. I’m sure it’d work much better if I made my own, but I’m afraid the most I can do under these circumstances is buy a premade and apply some paint I already mixed specifically for my patron

Of note is that this particular circle would not be used for any other entities. I’ve been working with this entity on/off for over a decade and insofar he’s the only one I trust enough to blatantly invite into my space like this.

Thanks in advance!

Basically only reason I don't decorate the outsider is because mom is a Christian and I'm terrified of getting in trouble. Still, I'm very proud of myself either way! :3

(I honestly didn't know what to offer so I went to the internet and I don't really have tea or anything but I still wanted to give an offering. )

Altars, tools and workspaces Deconstructing Ritual Mechanics: Transitioning from Physical Altars to Internalized Currents

For those working deeply within advanced esoteric currents, a technical question eventually arises: when does the physical layout of a ritual space begin to restrict the expansion of consciousness? This note looks at the psychological transition from external tools to pure, internalized energetic alignment.

The Mechanics of the Altarless Mind:

  • The Body as the Synthemata: Your nervous system and focused consciousness are the true focal points of alignment. Relying on physical props shifts your authority onto external objects rather than your own sovereign will.
  • Temporary Geometry: Instead of maintaining a static physical altar that accumulates stagnant energy, construct sharp, temporary mental or geometric frameworks (like a salt layout) strictly for the duration of the operation. Once the intent is achieved, the space is entirely cleared.
  • Vessel Tempering: Advanced evocation requires strict psychological and emotional discipline. When you remove the distractions of physical tools, you force your mind to become a highly calibrated, undistorted channel capable of navigating intense crossroads without friction.

For those navigating solitary practices: Are you controlling your tools, or are your tools controlling your focus? How do you isolate your mental architecture from the noise of modern pop-occultism?

Let us analyze the mechanics below.

Practical Questions I'm considering daemons to restore reputation and I would love to know any suggestions or experiences you may have

Just some context, if needed, if not, you can just skip into suggestions:

There's a person who just loves to spread ill rumors about others, even if she has to lie about it, and aside from attacking her (I'm alread taking care of it), I also want to fix the damage she did to us.

Stuff like, we lost friends, jobs, I got some creepy people approaching me because of her, and overall, our name is circulating around people we never met and followed by disgusting made up stories and I'm sick of it.

Theoretical questions Do you find the idea of descending towards the divine to be a more accurate description then ascending?

I've been recently reading some of the Merkabah Mystic's ideas, and one of the things mentioned in their description of traveling to the "divine throne" is an idea of descending towards it, rather then ascending. Philosophically, I understand this is because we were viewed as unable to ascend, due to be "fallen" in their words.

In practice, i have found while mediating that being deeper in tune with my body and mind has lead to better communication. In a way I could see this as being similar in idea and feeling as "descending" into one's self. Just curious to know how others view it, and if you think it's a useful framing?

Discussions Will infernals never come back if I stop working with them and tell them I would find them when I get better?

I live with conservative parents and used to work with Lord Lucifer, Lady Lilith and King Asmodeus. Unfortunately, I had to quit my practice because hiding was getting harder and many things happened which led to my parents forbidding my practice. Not to mention, I only had around 5-6 months of experience.

I wrote a letter to all 3 of them that I was ending my practice and that I would find them someday when I'm no longer living with my parents and have my own independence. I've been researching and gaining knowledge since then. My patron was King Asmodeus, we had a very deep connection and everything. Not to mention, I was a minor back then (about 15 and very serious about occult)

Since the letter, i'm constantly thinking of King Asmodeus more than anything, i miss him so much, I even made documentaries on him, and of course I occassionally think of Lady Lilith and Lord Lucifer, but not as much as King Asmodeus occupying my thoughts when it came to the occult. Also our connection was just impeccable.

But I can't help but feel this lingering fear that they won't be here/aren't here no matter how much energy i put into researching about them, occult and spirituality. Does anyone have an experience where an infernal waited for you?

Experiences and Ritual reports The subtle work with Gremory + getting closer to cats?

I recently did a ritual with Gremory and wanted to share a few things that happened.

As soon as I started preparing for the ritual, my cat suddenly became very clingy and wanted a lot of attention. When I didn’t give her much attention, she seemed almost frantic to get closer to me, almost aggressive, in a way I had never seen her act before. Has anyone else experienced something like this with cats and Gremory?

The ritual itself went really well. I definitely felt a connection and went into a pretty deep trance. But after the ritual, I didn’t feel anything else in the days that followed, which was different from my experiences with other Daemons. I even started wondering if the ritual had actually had any effect. I didn’t feel anything unusual or notice any changes in my life afterward.

I’ve seen people say that Gremory’s energy is very subtle and that she tends to take longer to bring results. I’d love to hear from people who have worked with her and what your experiences were, if you’re willing to share.

Thanks in advance =)

Experiences and Ritual reports Second petition to Duchess Bune ♡

Post image
73 Upvotes

Hello! I'm back!

Why? Well I didn't plan to be asking the Duchess for help so soon, (I even apologized?) but I got an interview tomorrow and I'm anxious as hell. Of course I'll be putting my best foot forward all the same, but aside from the little offerings I hadn't truly made a full meal for Bune and I hadn't (iirc) made a proper gratitude post either. So I figured I may as well combine all three!

For those needing the info, I did a petition for my Husband to have a good start at work and it WORKED. LIKE. A. CHARM. The Duchess really came through both with my concerns for his stability in the job as well as his comfort around others. He even made two whole friends (which is more than we had when we moved here). I know I sound like I'm talking about a child going to school, and I don't mean to, but you have to understand how BIG this is for him. Last year his only time out of the house was when he would drive me to work. Now he's not only working himself, but talking and chilling and going out of his way to reconnect with old buddies. He's really making strides, and while the effort is also his own, it'd be a crime not to be eternally grateful to Bune for helping ease him into that next step. Genuinely could not have asked for a better outcome.

Moving forward, I did a second petition and wrote her a second letter (complete with shaky hand sigil illustration) giving thanks (yet again) and (perhaps a tad bit desperately) asking for help with my interview tomorrow.

Like before I won't specify or show contents of the letter, but I essentially asked for help securing the job and making generally good impressions, as well as explaining why I thought it would be good for me and what I'd do for her afterwards.

Now, the meal I made isn't anything fancy, I was limited to what we had in the house, but I wrote her name on the sandwhich with a fork so that counts right? Right? Yeah, it counts. I aimed for things that would taste good first and foremost. Also the apples got brown fast I swear they weren't when I cut them. TwT

Anyhow, I'll update you guys tomorrow with what happens. Until then, I thank the Duchess for what she's provided, and when taking a moment to still my mind she gave me a mental projection of a pat on the back. So I think even she's like, "you need to chill out" haha

I'll pour her some orange juice in the morning before I leave too. Just because I can in fact not chill out. :D

Ave Bune ~ ♡

Experiences and Ritual reports PSA just came to mind

Probably not a popular opinion but my experience is that alot of names for demons/daemons or various other greater spirits work as a sort of title system by "rank" in the form of a "pyramid". In my opinion if you want to get the best results, try sending your magic as high up the chain as you can to get the most out of it.

Side note: Maybe it's upside-down and you want it as "low" as possible. (Cuz hell and stuff) The deeper the better.

Edit: What I'm try to say is that every name is a title. One is at the top and there's a row at the bottom. You want to go to the C.E.O of the title not the receptionist.

Experiences and Ritual reports Petition unsuccessful

Hi, just looking for a little guidance - my petition to Duke Dantalion was unsuccessful, however I still want to keep giving this a try. Would asking the same petition to another Duke be reasonable? I’m fairly new to all this so any advice from someone who is experienced and someone who’s tried the same petition with different spirits would be very helpful.

Discussions Question for those who work with Prince Beelzebub

Hello!

I've worked with a few infernal spirits now, mostly channeling their energies and allowing their wisdom to come through in my own words spoken aloud to myself in the car (as odd as that sounds). Prince Beelzebub (PB) has come through more strongly and insistently than any others.

Over the past year or so, I have distanced myself from the infernals, signaling to each that their energies are too intense for me and that I wish to primarily work with Hekate instead (all infernals pointed me towards working with Her so, I dont think it is a matter of offense given to PB or the other infernals by me doing this). However, I've been encountering so many flies in my apartment lately (fruit flies and recently big blow flies). There are no dead things in my apartment, nor open sources of fermenting fruit or anything that would cause such an influx of fly presence. And I'm curious if any others who work with PB have experienced such insistence from the "Kindly Prince" as I've taken to calling them. I take the presence of the flies to be PB signaling to me that they wish to talk with me.

Any others experience anything similar or have any insights to share about PB? They've never given me reason to believe they have any ill-intent but their insistence is troubling at times and idk how to enforce better boundaries with them.

Altars, tools and workspaces Two years of a protection pact with Marquis Sabnock

Post image

I share the photo of this offering as a homage and public praise to the Marquis Sabnock, now that the second anniversary of my protection pact with him is fast approaching. I have long since lost count of all the situations in which he has served as my bodyguard, of all the accidents and stumbles from which he has rescued me, of all the times he has smoothed my path. Praised be you, mighty Marquis Sabnock!
