First time moto-camping

Looking for recommendations or tips&tricks

I’m going to do a few hikes in RMNP and camping for the night. I’m comfortable riding with gear on my bike and am an experienced camper/national park visitor.

I have an entry reservation, camp spot, and a parks pass.

Just make sure the clothes are in a good waterproof bag for the thunderstorm that may roll in while you are out

I’ve done this with a large backpack in place where you have “clothes” strapped down to the bag mounts… sissy bar removed… doubles as a back rest … I was out for over a week though so you’re probably good like this exp bc your bar has a luggage rack

One night, my rain gear is in the right saddlebag as well. I didn’t mention it or my first aid/tools as they are always there

Save room on the tent by taking it out of the bag. Put it into the saddlebag loose so it fills up all the gaps. Backpackers don't use the sack it comes in. Then you can find easier ways to carry the poles, like behind the cooler or something. Like other commenter mentioned, pack backwards. So out the rain fly in first, then the main tent body so it's what you pull out first. Id put my sleeping bag/pad on bottom, then the rain fly, then the main tent.

OP, I basically have the same layout you do. I put my backpack with clothes and sleeping bag, in a constructors garbage bag, the heavy duty kind from home depot. Along with my cooler and anything else I don't want wet. So basically I have two trash bags then for camp clean up. I'll use a large bungee cord to wrap the bags down tight to my backpack and the cooler to eliminate flapping. I use a Jet boil to cook, takes up little space. And most importantly I carry a 64oz yeti water bottle that is almost indestructable.

Since you're going for one night clothes will be minimal. Grab a 30 liter waterproof duffle/backpack to put your extras in and tie it down across the two panniers. Or if your panniers don't hold much, you can buy a 50-60 liter waterproof duffle for the same location. Both widely available on Amazon. Luckily, my camping gear and several days clothing will fit nicely in my panniers and top box.
