Hiring [HIRING] Custom Vector Pattern Design (~$200 Flat Rate)
Hey everyone!
Somewhat strange request, but I’m looking for an illustrator or designer to help me create a custom pattern that I can print onto vinyl flooring for my kitchen (via For The Floor & More: https://forthefloorandmore.com/ordering-vinyl-flooring/).
My vision (although I'd be super excited for you to make suggestions / get creative):
- Bright red, orange, and yellow with dark maroon or black outlines, probably white negative space? Clean, flat colors only (no gradients/shading).
- A square tile featuring a central mandala, lotus motifs in the corner, a border, and some background accents. I also like the idea of repeating squares like traditional linoleum tile, but don't know if or how well those could be combined.
- A mix of Pacific Northwest-inspired motifs (chevrons, geometric peaks, or wave lines) and East Indian motifs (Oms, lotus). I’d love your guidance on making these blend naturally.
- Must be a clean, high-res vector file (.AI, .EPS, or print-ready PDF) set up with seamless repeats and CMYK colors. Will ultimately print 10 ft by 10 ft but the website says they can expand or shrink designs-- should definitely be a square!
Budget & details:
- Pay: $200 (open to negotiation-- I have no frame of reference and am just taking chatGPT's advice on this)
- Comment on this post first, then send me a DM.

Hi! I’d love to help with your custom vector pattern design. Lucas is a graphic designer experienced with branding, visual identity, graphic design, and vector-based work, and I think this project would be a great fit.
I’d be happy to discuss your references and ideas and develop a clean, print-ready pattern with the seamless repeat and CMYK requirements you mentioned.

Hi! I’d love to work on this project! I’m a graphic designer with experience in vector design, branding, and visual identity, and I’d be happy to create a custom pattern that combines the Pacific Northwest and East Indian influences you described.
I can create the design with clean flat colors, strong outlines, a square tile structure, and seamless repetition, while keeping the final artwork print-ready in CMYK.
I’d also be happy to explore different ways to combine the mandala, lotus, geometric peaks, waves, and other motifs so everything feels cohesive.

This is a really interesting project 👍 I’d love to help develop the pattern and find a natural visual balance between the Pacific Northwest and Indian-inspired motifs. Reached out with my portfolio.
