I know Bree is a fan favourite here but her treatment of Danielle is indefensible. While I can confidently say the other housewives, despite their flaws, loved their children, Bree often seems to genuinely despise Danielle.
(1) She blamed Danielle for being groomed by her teacher.
Gaby constantly (and rightfully) gets called out for her statutory rape of John, but Bree gets a pass for how she handled Danielle. Bree blamed her daughter for being statutorily raped, stayed silent to protect her social standing, and was perfectly willing to let a predator keep his job working with children.
In blaming their child for being raped I think Gaby's mother was far more despicable than Bree, since she was driven by malice and jealousy, whereas Bree acted out of misguided pride and control. Ultimately, though, the end result for both daughters is that their mothers blamed them for the actions of an adult predator (for me, this is an unforgivable thing to do to your child).
Do people give Bree a pass just because her motivations weren't as purely evil as Lucia's? Or do they think what Danielle's teacher did wasn't bad because he groomed her first to get "consent"?
(2) She stole Danielle's son.
I've seen this excused as "she didn't steal him" and "Danielle agreed"
Bree took Benjamin, falsified paperwork, and planned to conceal him from Danielle's and Austin's lawful custody permanently, her actions meet the standard for child abduction in pretty much every state. What she did also falls under kidnapping by fraud.
She also used isolation (the convent) and bribes to force a teenager into compliance. Legally, taking a child under such coerced or falsified consent is treated like taking a child without permission. You don't get to manipulate a child and then go to court and say "but they agreed"
Wanting to maintain the perfect image was more important to her than the best interests of her daughter and grandson. Before he was even born, she had selfishly decided Benjamin's entire foundation would be built on a lie that only benefits her and her self-image.
There was no good reason she couldn't have offered to help raise him as her grandchild instead of planning to lie to him for his entire life.
(3) She constantly insulted and belittled Danielle.
Like a lot of people, I find those quotes funny, but in the context of a parent saying it to their child, there's no way around it - they're toxic and cruel.
