LOW FPS despite having a high end PC

Hey Guys.,

I have noticed that Destiny is running at a slower FPS despite having a high end PC.

I checked some streamers (Such as Panduh) who have weaker specs but run at 200ish frames in crucible while I am barely hitting 100. Any ideas on what the issue might be?

Here are my Specs:

9950X3D AMD Processor

RTX 5080 Rog Astral GPU

64GB DDR5 RAM

4TB WD_BLACK SSD

X870E-H Motherboard

AIO COOLING

1000 WATT PSU

1440p 300hz MSI MAG Monitor

Any sort of help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks In advance.

II tried this and in helped a bit. Now I am running around 40-50 more frames. Thanks a lot!

I just tried applied Steamfix yesterday and the game feels so much better! I’m glad that someone figured out how to address this.

Oh my f***ing god - I have never noticed that this exists. I had so many issues to get a stable frame rate and this little tool just fixes everything for me.

All the numbers except for probably the most important: what resolution?

What in-game settings you running? FOV? Most, if not all, content creators run settings on low/off to obtain as many frames as possible. RTX HDR takes a chunk of performance, additionally, if you're running that.

Latest Nvidia drivers brought me from 120ish to 50-70 last night. Reinstalled the older drivers and things were much better. Steam might also be a culprit, something about its overlay stuff is causing major issues, at the moment both Epic and Microsoft Store versions are working better.

If you have the steam version of the game I would check if that is the cause because after the MOT update the steam version of the game has been “bugged”. Many people playing this version have noticed much lower frames and worse frame times when compared to the Xbox or epic version. I would maybe download the epic version and see if that helped the frames at all

Out of curiosity, do you have your monitor refresh rate set in Nvidia control panel?

Nvidia Profile Inspector is also helpful. Nvidia is disabling Rebar across the board in the drivers now... I enable it globally and on the Destiny 2 app profile. Once enabled, click the apply in the upper right hand corner, reboot and you'll see a little more FPS.

D2 is very cpu dependant but even then your frames shouldn’t be that low with that set up. All I can suggest is enable game mode in bios, disabling the non 3D cores in games is a must.

Got your monitor plugged in to the GPU?
