Customization First custom ever

Hi guys, I wanted to share with you the first custom I've ever made. I'm a huge fan of weathered diecast, so I tried to do that on this 1/64 1957 Dodge Coronet Patrol from M2 Machines (last pic is original model)

I'm just getting started in modeling, so I was hoping to get some advice and techniques recommendations about weathering. Anyway, have a great day!

Great work!! The weathered effect is very good, imo, sometimes it’s layered on a little thick….i commend you for jumping into the lake so to speak….👍🏼

Did you use the hairspray technique to do the rust patches?

I basically used a piece of sponge ripped apart to paint the bigger spots and a brush to add details on all rust parts. But I'll look into the hairspray technique, I hadn't heard of it. Thanks!
