I'm mostly a traditional artist, but treated myself to a Wacom Movink and am having the most fun with it. Here's my first finished piece.

Illustration Horror artist recommendations

• Upvotes

So I wanna make my art more horror centered and I wanna hear some horror artist recs that I can slurp art techniques from nomnom.
You can give classic horror artists like junji ito, pleade do! But I also want horror artists I can go follow and support. Especially from the creepy cute genre. And I want it genuinely haunting, bone-chilling.

Mac is the main character of my story. He's a mage:) This drawing is a little older, he's gotten angular-er and much edgier, but i still like when he was cute and round

I'm genuinely so lonely, I feel like a horrible selfish attention seeker for wanting connection and attention from my friends

Question/Help So here's my problem

The red drawing is supposed to represent the angle of the arm. Now my problem is the right wing. I don't know if it's positioned correctly in relation to the arm, or if this position is normally incorrect.

Looking for honest feedback on my surreal artwork

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone,
I’m experimenting with a surreal emotional art style and I’d really appreciate some honest feedback.
I’m mainly curious how this piece feels to viewers — whether the atmosphere, colors and composition work together or if something looks off.

Any thoughts or critique are welcome. Thanks!

Hi Folks,

Custom hard surface and organic weapon skin created at MAK Studio for an upcoming game title. The asset was designed to balance high fantasy aesthetic elements with a production ready, real time game pipeline.

Design & Aesthetic Highlights:

Dragon Motif Integration: Hand sculpted dragon head muzzle assembly with the barrel extending through the jaw, complemented by articulated dragonesque wings mounted across the upper receiver.

Material Hierarchy:Ā Premium polished gold trim layered over satin crimson plating and matte tactical alloy, optimized for high visual readability in first person (FPS) view.

Custom Stock & Drum Mag:Ā Sculpted tail segment silhouettes on the buttstock and flowing scale patterns integrated into the extended ammo box.
Technical Pipeline

High Poly & Sculpting:Ā Fusion of precise hard surface mechanical components with organic detailing for dragon scales and crests.

Texturing & PBR Workflow:Ā Multi layered PBR materials crafted with targeted roughness variation to catch dynamic studio lighting and real time engine shaders cleanly.

Game Ready Optimization:Ā Clean retopology and efficient UV packing tailored for real-time engine integration and first person visual fidelity.

Designed and rendered at MAK Studio. Feedback and inquiries welcome!

Question/Help Question About Canvas Size

I recently been learning how to fully use my drawing app since I've been mostly working with ibis. When it comes to canvas sizes is it random? Like when you have an art piece in mind, do you already know what size you're canvas is or do you guys just bs it? I actually had this question for years because I never knew what size my canvas has to be. Just for it to turn out smaller compared to someone else's work. Which made me have this question. I know there's no right or wrong to a size, I just don't know what determines it.
